Fantastic atmosphere, Great Food & Drink. 100% Recommended

Went for opening time which was 4pm but was closed. Went for pizza but was not serving

Called in the pub a couple of times whilst stopping in the village. Lovely interior, although we sat outside. Dog friendly, lovely staff abs reasonably priced. The pub doesn’t serve pub food but has started serving pizza, whilst we didn’t have any (we’d already eaten) it smelt and looked lovely. Really hope this pub flourishes as it’s so nice and the staff were lovely.

Only popped in for a few drinks but it was nice enough.

Great pub......IF you are one of the locals or affiliated with, otherwise expect a cold welcome and to be stared at like you have 3 heads, if you head in after 5pm there's a group of locals that sit to the right of the door as you walk in and be prepared to the cut atmosphere with a knife.

Once in Frosterley You are at the Inn. On the Right opposite a Green, park out back, above their Bin! Pleasant People, Helpful Staff. Very efficient, yet open to a Laugh. Kinda Olde Worlde ; the 'Ladies' are very Clean. The Gents : Well after a Pint or Two it won't matter to those who've 'Been'. We Ate from a Very Nice Selection of tasty Food for Lunch. If You're Travelling up or Down Dale, it won't cost you A Bunch!!

Had a vegetarian Sunday lunch here twice so far, absolutely gorgeous and huge. Staff and locals are really friendly and made us feel so welcome .

Popped in first time since covid. Nicely done out new decor, dog friendly too, sat down and ordered the lasagna with chips and garlic bread, swift service and tasty food, very nice will definitely be back.

Great pub great landlord lovely food

We called in today as had been for a walk around the reservoir. Ordered a glass of red wine and a Prosecco. Also some lasagna and mince and dumplings. The wine was poor, Prosecco was flat. We were absolutely frozen as sat trying to eat our lunch with the front door wide open whilst they brought a load of deliveries in through the front of the pub!! I just can’t understand why they would do that. It was a freezing cold day and no consideration for the poor customers. Food just absolutely tasteless and the place had no atmosphere! The girls behind the bar just unfriendly. Not a good experience and never to return!!

First visit today for Sunday lunch it was very tasty, you get plenty on the plate also had a desert , definitely recommend you try it, staff were brilliant we will definitely go again delicious

The Frosterley Inn is amazing. My husband and I both had pork sunday dinners and they were fantastic - big portion sizes so you never leave hungry, really delicious with a large selection of veg to go with the melt in the mouth pork and yorkshire puddings. The service was brilliant, with all the staff being very accomodating and friendly. The pub itself is stunning. Will definitely be returning very soon!!

Had Sunday lunch to day.wont be going back.turnip cut in squares not cooked ,roast pots not cooked cabbage no taste out of bag.someone needs to show them how to make mint sauce and gravy.asked for still orange not seen anything like it weak as anything would be ashamed to serve it to anyone.

Cracking village pub serving great traditional fayre. I had home made corn beef pie, was excellent and I cleaned my plate. Wife had cheese and onion pie also top notch both reasonably priced. Few pints of Wainwrights and afternoon complete. Great place for a visit or two we'll be back.

Very disappointed that the only pub in the village, also with significant passing traffic, fails to sell real ale. Trade must be amazing if they can afford to turn away customers.

Stopped her for lunch in between some lovely walks around Weardale - had the pulled pork sandwich with chips which was very nice - staff were friendly, nice place to eat and drink, lots to choose from on menu!

A warm, friendly welcome always guaranteed since Nigel and Hayley have taken over ! I cannot wait to visit and test out their new gin shelf and I'm looking forward to seeing the new decor they've worked hard on when they reopen.

Went with family food was very good quality and really plentiful would definitely recommend great see a pub trying in these difficult times well done

My first visit since new owners took over in March. Sunday lunch was excellent the food, service was excellent and good value. Will be going again.

A friendly relaxed atmosphere, perfect food and beer, but mostly, the perfect place to take the dogs and all with excellent implementation of covid restrictions. A must for all dog families.

Lovely pub that has been recently taken over and refurbished. It is now family run, which they are putting a lot of effort in to making it a success. Now doing food.

Called in for lunch and a drink. Pub lovely and immaculate. We ordered Lasagna and slow cooked beef sandwich both with home cooked chips. Lovely fresh home cooked food and portions were massive! Good luck on your re openeing. And a really friendly owner.

Went up to do my friends caravan garden

The Lady bartender could not count how many beers me and my friends drunk (it was 2 per person). I paid for the first two. Then she took the money for the first two and at the end of our "journey" she wanted money for 4 beers. I told her that we drunk only 4 and I paid fot previous two... But she that we drunk 4 after I paid for two... So we had to pay for 6 beers but we drunk only 4. The place is a real crap. No good beers.

Good village pub, friendly staff & locals. Prices are good, small choice of local beer. Advised min. spend on card was £10.

This is a proper pub unlike many that have gone down the gastro pub route. There are regularly events on including live music so it's well worth checking. There is always a warm welcome guaranteed by the staff and the locals so if you're in the area be sure to stop by for a pint or 4 😉

In Frosterley they have a lighting of the Christmas tree with soup and mince pies etc and the Inn supported that 🙂 as a pub not great for kids but a nice pub.

Nice pub with friendly staff. Fire was on so cozy. Would say it is the local village pub. Only had one pump of 'ale' which was a shame.

Had a few drinks in here whilst on holiday recently, children and dogs allowed which was good for us. No food served but we only wanted drinks anyway. Staff and locals very friendly.

This wonderful friendly pub is run by a fabulous couple who work hard and are very welcoming, There is a pool table and the pub is dog friendly. Sadly the pub does not do food as we would have called in more often - but the owners were very good at making local recommendations, I can highly recommend calling in for a friendly drink here.

Old school boozer, fine if thats what you want but id avoid it. Black bull is way nicer

Recently visited the Frosterley Inn as we were staying at a cottage in the area. Popped in on the Saturday and Sunday for the football. Friendly welcome and tasty beverages. We even won the meat draw and the Toon got 3 points! Will defo return on next visit.

The place itself looks like a bit of a dive bar. But on saying that it has good character, and the locals who drink there are very nice and will chat to anyone. Brilliant place to visit.

Buena cerveza, buen ambiente. Vea deportes tomarse una cerveza. Jugar a billar o a los dardos escuchar música.Es un pueblo agradable Frosterley y la gente es encantadora.Llamada en Frosterley Inn no le decepcionará las mujeres tendrán una cálida bienvenida y una buena pinta de espera! !

We went on xmas eve for food all home cooked lovely meals they couldn't do enough for us. A very warm welcoming pub would highly recommend a visit.

Hice un regalo especial para los niños visitan Polar Express en Stanhope y yo queríamos un lugar para comer en el camino. Busqué en internet y encontré este lindo y pequeño pub. Les envié un correo electrónico antes de tiempo y antes de las comidas. El personal era maravilloso, mi familia (incluyendo a mi esposo un poco quisquillosos) así que optamos por el pescado y las patatas fritas y una hamburguesa hombre en llamas. Puedo decir honestamente que nunca he visto comer mucho. Las raciones eran grandes y me pareció una gran relación calidad-precio. El lugar necesita un poco de ahí hasta 4 estrellas arreglaran pero eso no debería desanimarte de disfrutar de una comida rápida y cerveza o dos. Le envío mis gracias a Tracy y Lisa, recordaremos a este pequeño lugar tanto como le Polar Express.

Habiendo reservado una cabaña vacacional en Frosterley tenía ganas de saber lo que estaba disponible donde podíamos comer y beber. Le envié un correo electrónico al pub y nos dieron una respuesta inmediata de Tracy que muy amablemente envió un menú y una lista de eventos que estaban por semana especialmente.Cuando llegamos nos dimos presentó y se hizo muy bienvenidos por todo el mundo y se prestó especial atención a nuestra manera de agua por Labradoodle y caprichos.Tuve que asistir a un funeral en el miércoles, y aunque en esta ocasión particular de comida no estaba disponible Tracy nos ofrecieron darnos una cena, ya que ella estaba trabajando esa noche que nos ahorró tener que viajar después de un largo día. Estuvimos muy agradecidos por este gesto. La comida estaba muy buena y cuatro placas limpias habla por sí mismo.!!La gente en el pub también era increíblemente amable y fue agradable ver como un espíritu comunitario, especialmente en la noche de bingo donde también tuve la ventaja de ganar 20 libras.Nada era demasiado para Tracy y Lisa, todo lo que puedo decir si alguna cerca de dar este pub una Frosterley ir ya que no le defraudará.

The landladies are really friendly and so are the regulars. Nice selection of drinks and an outside seating area. Not had food but must be good as the regulars seem to be always munching. Great place.

14 de nosotros alquilamos una casa en Frosterley para mi marido de 30 y queríamos un lugar local para comer en la noche del viernes. Encontré una página para este pub en Facebook y envió un mensaje a Tracy, que no podría haber sido más servicial. Ella nos envió un menú, así que podíamos pedir por adelantado, estaba encantado de tratar con todas las solicitudes poco o extra, e incluso con una esquina del pub con 30 decoraciones sin ni siquiera preguntar que era precioso! La comida era buena, el servicio fue rápido y el personal era muy amable. Pasamos una noche fabulosa y todos los hombres de regresar el sábado a ver fútbol toda la tarde; me dijo que el ambiente entonces era simplemente genial! Así que gracias por ser tan acogedor, realmente disfrutamos visitar su pub.

Jeez! Apuesto que les preguntaba que lo ocurrió cuando era una pasada! Pequeño y bonito lugar, un poco viejas, pero es una buena opción de drinkies, así que todos los 3 de nuestro grupo de 15 volví el sábado por la noche! hospitalario personal encantador y muy comprensivos con nuestro lugareños! Lo siento por el canto de Nicola, ella no salen mucho! Volveremos cuando volvamos!

Unfortunately this pub has no disabled toilets and no wheel chair access . My partner and I visited for a hot meal and a drink and where surprised at the rundown state of the car park at the rear of the pub ( rubbish bins overflowing and vermin in clear view ) as I am wheel chair bound I was not able to enter the premises and we made a hastily retreat to another local pub which has wheel chair access. The pub is clearly stuck in the dark ages and needs updating as soon as possible to drag it up to modern standards .

Another great night in the inn. Warmly welcomed, with the beer nice and cool. On the Guinness, good company and craic. Second time in a week here, with quiz night on a Tuesday being the other. See you lasses again soon.

This has to be one of friendliest pub's about,you are always made welcome by the people who run the pub ,the food off the menu is home cooked and tasty plus there's always plenty of it so if your passing through frosterley it's always a good place to stop.

We called in to enter the kids pumpkin carving and ended staying for a drink and a bite to eat. All we can say about the chicken nuggets is WOW the best chicken nuggets the kids have had they told us. The staff were very friendly and occupied the kids with a couple of Halloween themed items.

avoid this pub at all costs - terrible food with over priced alcohol and a horrible decoralong with unfriendly staff and regular drug use in the toilets make this about the worst pub i have ever visited . . you have been warned

This is a very homely Inn. Bar staff (Tracey) really efficient and helpful. We had a large group gathering and nothing was a problem. Many thanks . Will be back!

Staying in Frosterley over the new year - we were a group of 10 adults, 1 child and 3 dogs - the lovely ladies behind the bar couldn't have been more welcoming....looked after the dogs, fed us and even sent us home with a chocolate cake!

Popped in one Sunday afternoon for lunch and footy. They kindly put on Sky Sports for us. The food was good pub grub at a good price. The pool table is only 40p!

i wouldnt recommend if service is important - if you dont mind being ignored and belittled then this is the place for you - food is really exceptional - service is crap!!
