Went yesterday with a girl in a power wheelchair and her dad the young man who worked there was very helpful help with the doors when we arrived and left food was fantastic all staff very friendly and pleasant highly recommended

Had a lovely Yorkie wrap. It was huge too, only just managed it all!

Been in a few times, so thought I'd leave a review this time. I had the Stonebridge burger, with a side of onion rings. The staff were friendly, and I enjoyed my meal.

It is good to see the expansion of good service covering The Board Inn, The Stonebridge and and now The Bridge Hotel in durham, great food, and great service in and around durham.

Manager was horrible. We love the food here but he was so rude …. Ruined a good dining experience. The waiter was very polite and great at his job. Below is a photo of the manager who has no people skills. If he’s working I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. Power trip

Service was slow. I ordered Stonebridge Burger. It was one of the worst burgers of my life. Meat patties had no taste and were highly overcooked. You can't taste the burger sauce. Slaw and chips were not impressive either. Only upside was the Guinness.

Been having Sunday lunch here for 7 years , the last couple of month it hasn't been its best , but last Sunday was really disappointing, the roast potatoes are frozen , portion size was poor , meat was fatty , don't know why its slipping , ? Service is always excellent,

Always had good food here,but I can only say the last twice we've been the food was beyond poor. Tonight I had Hunters chicken, chief forgot to put bbq sauce on and chicken was still very pink in the middle. Gammon looked very nice but no onion rings and 1 very very small over cooked mushroom. Salad had definitely seen better days all brown on edges. Chips had been precooked and just warmed up. Really disappointing.

Takeaway Sunday lunch served cold! Family birthday paid almost £90 for cold Sunday lunch. Absolutely ruined my mothers birthday celebrations. Phoned and spoke to general manager who told me this is always the case, even though last year they were served hot! Totally disgusted with the lack of service!

Great pub. Extensive food menu including kids menu, Sunday roast, fish and chips night, steak night. Friendly helpful staff with brilliant customer service. All the family had a great time.

Booked this place weeks in advance for a post wedding lunch for a group of 20. When we arrived we informed the waiter that a number of our party were running 15 minutes late and we were told that the table was only ours for an hour and a half (despite a three course menu being offered). We were also told we could only have a roast dinner, even though other guests in the restaurant were eating from a far more extensive menu. This was apparently because the Manager who took our booking had ´forgotten’ to take our preorder… The roast itself was mediocre and the same meat appears to have been served for the chicken and turkey option. There are many other pubs in the area and we’d recommend trying one of those instead.

We have been here a few times now and it is a lovely place for lunch. The staff are friendly and helpful, they have time for a chat, the food prices are great and the food is first class. We have never had long to wait after placing the order even though the times we have visited have always been busy. The place is clean and warm and tables are cleared quickly. We have tried a few different things from the menu, good pub food and plenty of it! Drinks prices are good and plenty of lager options.

Have had lovely Sunday meals here, very friendly staff. They even let me use the loo before they were open and I was passing!

Decide to try out the inn , never been for a few years and it was a bank Holiday, What a bad decision, soon as we sit a waitress came up and give us our menus and then told us that half the menu was not available and no monday specials , was disappointed but decided to give it a chance , We both ordered the roast beef wrapped in a Yorkshire pudding, when it came it looked very dry and no gravy , I had to ask for some gravy , the meal was awful so dry , meat was ruined , I assumed it had been frozen and then defrosted I could still taste the ice inside it , the meal had no flavour even the vegs , my wife's was the same and the gravy did not help no flavour too , we eat half and then left food and drinks was £40 What a waste of money , it was not what I wanted , the service was not very professional, would not recommend too anyone , give it a miss , seems to me that it will be closing down soon , with substandard food , so I will not come back

Good food. Good service. Staff very nice. Only downside for me is the meals are far too big. Attractive environment. Big car park. Also street parking. Sunday dinner excellent value.best Sunday dinner in the area. You can also get a senior dinner which is slightly smaller, but still plenty big enough.

Amazing place for a Sunday roast!

Great quality food, massive portions, but very pricey.

Last time I ate here was in April and it was great. Today was really disappointing. I was told the head chef left 2 months ago which is a pity coz his food was great. I wish I had taken photos of our meals. My Yorkshire pudding was burnt and overly crispy and the staff were lovely, replacing it 3 times. The third time I said no thanks it still looks overcooked. My husband's chips were overcooked and the onion rings were dismal and oily. His gammon was overcooked. My son was happy with his pizza though it looked overcooked to me. At least 1 person was happy with their food. You seriously need to get a better chef if you want to keep your clients. Needless to say I won't be going back there for a meal. Highly disappointed after eating there for the last 5 years.

Driving back from Scotland every where we called sat 6pm said sry no room tables are full Drove past but there food side is not that well advertised , But said we need food so pulled in Place looked busy that was encouraging!!! Nice young girl said she could fit us in but 30min wait.. No worries were hungry I said, Within 15 to 20 mins fresh food cooked on the table (not boil in a bag Microwaved) Just good food cooked well , Attentive staffed checked we were happy Just have to shout out when the food is that good when there spinning that many table's!!! Well done

Excellent choice of meals. Decided on the yorkshire pudding wrap with chips instead of potatoes. What can I say but wow. Large wrap with beef inside which melted in your mouth. Cabbage and turnip was nice. Homemade chips were delicious with a nice jug of thick onion gravy. I could not fault it. Never had a dessert couldn't fit one in.

Used to be very good however tonight abysmal. Garlic sauce didn't contain garlic and meat overcooked 🤮 Pity used to be a great diner.

Booked early for a easter sunday lunch and at last minute got a unexpected guest ..rang as soon as they opened to see if could add a extra person on and the young lad who answered was very quick in answering that they were fully booked (within a second ) i explained that i wudnt mind even if they were just to pull a chair up .and again within a second responded that they didnt have a chair ..I dont believe for one minute that every chair in there was been sat on and how would he know this so quick ,customer service was shocking from him.he did not try to help or even give me the time of day . .Resulting in us having to cancel our lunch there .We eat there very often at least once a week .very disappointed as never had any problems before .

Extremely satisfied with my experience and if you order the battered haddock and chips in an adults portion, expect a sizeable whale. Wonderful lunch Would definitely go back again.

The chips are the best I've had in Durham so far. Their Sunday Lunch is incredible and the portions are more than generous for all the food they make. Great selection of desserts. Staff are very friendly and it wasn't loud like many other places in Durham are.

Went for a quick teatime eat . Took half hour to do our meals ...nothing special. Won't be returning

Popped in with my dogs while out walking with a friend....had a lovely snack..Cajun chicken wrap...really tasty..will deffo be back to try more of the menu..

Yorkshire pudding wrap was amazing

The standard is good pub quality, nothing too exciting but all the main options are covered - burgers, pizzas, steaks. Our food was all well cooked, with decent serving size, and well presented. The downside was the level of organisation. From sitting at our table, we waited 1 hour until the food was served. I had to prompt once for the order to be taken, and once to chase our food. The excuse was that the restaurant had suddenly become busy; it didn't look like that to us (c. 20 tables, about 50% capacity). And if you're expecting such numbers as claimed, then for goodness sake make sure more staff are on shift. The actual staff were responsive and friendly, but this didn't make up for the excessive delay. Nor were we offered a discount due to the wait, e.g. a free round of drinks. In summary, it's a better than average pub, but when you book get a commitment that they aren't understaffed and that you'll be served in a reasonable timeframe.

The service is what made this a great experience. Attentive, friendly, and welcoming. We will return to The Stonebridge Inn when we next visit Durham. Many thanks to all the staff.

Great service - a real Sunday roast machine of a pub - enjoyed food. Meet choices and veg very good - too full for pudding. Waiting staff really polite and welcoming with smiles

Really nice, friendly pub with great food that takes dogs. The menu was pretty extensive and covers both pizza/ pasta/ burgers and more unusual and interesting options. Lots of traditional desserts and I was impressed that even the custard was homemade.

A friend invited me to the Stonebridge Inn, promising that "they have wonderful food and enormous portions. You will not leave hungry." I went there for the Sunday roast, and everything was delicious. The turkey was juicy and savoury, the vegetables were perfectly cooked, and the Yorkshire pudding was the best (and biggest) I've ever had. But the real highlight was the sticky toffee pudding, which melted in my mouth and was accompanied by a delicious custard. I can't speak to their status as a pub, but the bar looked beautiful and well-stocked, and the servers were very attentive, so I have high hopes. The prices are very reasonable for what you're getting, so I'm happy to recommend the Stonebridge Inn. The food is wonderful, the portions are enormous, and you will not leave hungry.

Food was very average. My bolognaise potato boats had no flavour and even my chips were very bland. Unfortunately none of us thought the food was anything other than average. On the plus point the portion sizes were large. Nice enough venue but very dark where we were sat, away from others which contributed to the lack of atmosphere.

The staff were friendly and provided a professional service. The food was delivered promptly and was of an excellent quality. A very enjoyable experience. Well done!

Lovely pub, good selection of beers, super friendly staff, and the food is plentiful and a good price. Portions were very big. Ours was delicious. I had the Yorkshire pud wrapped beef. It had a vast amount of sliced beef in it.

This was such a lovely welcoming place, the staff all chatty and friendly! My family and I had a lovely time and the variety of the food was wonderful. There really was a dish to suit everybody's taste. Will be returning!

I had the burger and chips. Actually a fun combination with chicken too. But the burgers felt a bit supermarket TBH, so a little disappointing overall. The place was popular, and the service was slow. It was hard to catch a waiter's eye. But they were accurate with the order and smiled. The Sunday roasts looked LARGE.

It was our first visit after just moving upto meadowfield,it came highly recommended by a friend of mine,the food was excellent,i had the mixed grill and my wife had the haddock an chips wow!!! Both cooked to perfection and served up looking great on the plate.waittress and barstaff were friendly smiley and helpfull,looking forward to returning very soon.thanks guys

Not as good as I had heard .Overcharged for our meal .

We’re not from this area but had an appointment in Durham so Googled places nearby. We had an hour and a half spare, plenty of time (or so we thought) to grab some food. Long story short, there was only a couple of tables of people in so wasn’t busy. We had finished our drinks and food still hadn’t arrived. Conscious that our appointment time was getting closer, we asked a couple of times how long it would be and we’re told it was ‘getting plated up now’. Queue another 10 minutes wait and still no food, we had to ask for it to be put into takeaway containers so we could eat it on the way. Considering that we had waited just under an hour, and the burgers were £15 each - all I can say is it was a complete rip off and disappointment. The containers were opened as soon as we got in the car, portions were ridiculous and chips weren’t even hot and tasted reheated. Not good at all.

As always the staff are lovely and friendly, helpful and attentive. However, a few weeks ago i attended and food wasnt great but didn't review until a second negative experience. One of us ordered the stonebridge burger which used to be 2 succulent homemade burgers, a chicken breast, crispy bacon and cheese. This time it has 2 dalepack steaks, a strip of chicken and bacon with cheese and sauce. It was awful. The gammon was a good size but cooked badly. The pulled beef lasagne was lovely as usual but as it's prepared in advanced, it would be hard be get wrong. I don't think I'll be back which is a shame as the staff are so lovely and part of it is really dog friendly. Had one too many bad meals there now. It used to be good. Such a shame 🫠

Fantastic Sunday lunch, more than I could manage. Really enjoyed it. I had Pork but best of all there was some proper cracknel. Would definitely recommend this place.The staff is very good. Just go there.

This pub is local to where I live and I have been a number of times because of good food and more importantly the gluten free options on the menu, however on this occasion I was presented with a new menu which did not have any gluten free options on it, I queried this with the waitress who said that they had a new menu that had been produced quickly and that eventually there would be gluten free options on it, not sure if I believe that?, I was very disappointed to hear this as I was looking forward to my favourite gluten free meal and to be honest I would have left the pub if we hadnt already ordered/received drinks, the waitress pointed out dishes that were gluten free (not many) and I selected the hunters chicken which was tasty but I thought the piece of chicken was small, my partner got the yorkshire pudding wrap which again was tasty but wasnt a big portion and he paid a whopping £16 for it! More than a sunday dinner and there wasnt much on his plate! It would appear that the prices have gone up on the new menu but personally I dont think the portions justify paying that amount! I would eat there again but unfortunately because of no gluten free options I will be going to places where I know there are more options for me.

It was my special birthday. We come for steak night . The best part of the night was so lovely staff. The steak was awful so fatty . The peppercorn sauce was cold , and we paid extra for that . Good value if you get a meal you could enjoy . Starter steak and drink . We had arranged to come on Sunday for lunch but will go somewhere else. So sad when it’s on our doorstep . Very very disappointing.

Good food deals during the weekdays

Had passed this pub on numerous occasions but had never ventured in. Decided to go here after having booked a table at another venue some 15 miles away but didnt stay as they were having building works done whilst still serving customers. So glad we did. Lovely pub, friendly attentive staff. Food was excellent Hubbie ordered fish and chips which was huge and I had the chargrilled chicken. Unfortunately we did not have room for dessert. Slightly pricey for a large glass of wine but that was my only issue. We will certainly return but maybe just have a lite bite next time so there is room for dessert

A regular visitor to this wonderful pub. Dropped in on the off chance of a table & was seated straightaway. Had my all time favourite - mince & dumplings (cheese & red onion). Great food at a great price. Our waitress was so helpful & friendly - thank you!

We went for a meal here since it was just around the corner from our Air B & B. To our surprise the food selection was fantastic. So much nicer than the noisy loud areas by the City Center. This place was calm and peaceful. Excellent food. Full Bar. Free parking plus ability to carry on a conversation without loud music blaring. We’ll be back!

Been for Sunday lunch today. My husband and I both had medley of meats which were beautiful. Staff were also extremely pleasant.

Took my mother out for lunch and called in at this ph to try the 2 x £20 lunchtime meals.We sat at a table beside the window and ordered our drinks whilst looking at the menus.We ordered a fish bites,chips and mushy peas and a bacon/cheese burger with chips and coleslaw.The food when it arrived 20 mins later was very nice with real chios that were well done and very tasty for us.Portion sizes were what you would expect for meal deals but was worth the money.The service was very friendly from two young waitresses. Would we return - most definitely.

No cod..had to have haddock.. chips were burned and greasy..fish was greasy..mushy peas were cold..tea was warm..tables were sticky..young girl who served us was lovely..got Friday fish deal ..and extra drinks whole bill came to £35 and pence

first time here for a while but omg not disappointed, I got Gammon egg and chips, the gammon was like a horses saddle, my wife had fish and chips the fish was huge too only downside were a few bones,table service was excellent no need to go to the bar, even after the meal in the beer garden, excellent staff nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend

Food one of the nicest mince and dumplings ever had. Was six of us 4 had it. The other 2 had fish bites and gammon looked really nice and service was really good. Nice and polite waitresses.

Lovely building. The buffet we had was excellent. The coffee they served was ghastly, a real let down, cheap and nasty. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
