Not a walk in friendly pub if you haven't booked a bottomless brunch I wouldn't bother because any spare table is reserved. Oh and its expensive.

Acacia was amazing. She serviced us constantly and really kept up with the bottomless drinks vide. She was a lovely girl thorough and was very easy to talk to and such a lovely waitress overall. It should be an honour to have her work for you.

Went for the superbowl was not worth it. My mate ordered food on the app at about 11pm, after 2 hours it hadn't come and they had 'no record of the order' but the money had come out of his account so put it all through again on the till and had to pay twice for food that once again never came. When we went to check after about 40 minutes of the second order they told us that bar staff were meant to come and tell us that they had ran out of food but they never did so if we hadn't asked my friend wouldn't have got his refund. Still no refund for the app order so at one point we were £90 down with no food. Also got shouted at by a member of staff who wasn't working (did apologise fair play to him hope he had a lovely night) for going in the wrong smoking area when a different working member of staff had told us to 'go straight down the bottom' one door was locked and the other one was labelled as a fire exit with no immediate signage of what the smoking area was for the night (unless we properly missed it I guess) Could not hear a thing on the tellys in general and left at about 2am. Poor this time but I suppose they normally don't stay open past 11:30pm, won't be returning for any big sports events though. Normally quite nice for drinks :(

Went for the Superbowl event. They ran out of their fantastic chicken wings (I'd have rated food a 5 if they served all night) in the 1st quarter, leaving 4 of us at our table and I would imagine approximately 100 other hungry American football fans wanting. 2 bar staff on meaning the wait for a drink was too long, and once you'd finally got your 3/4 Guinness 1/4 foam, you had to wait to ask to get it topped up. The speakers weren't working in our half of the bar, meaning the sound from the other screens was out of sync with our screen. This made the halftime show worthless. On the plus side there were plenty of screens and it wasn't too crowded as it was a closed event. All in all, with more staff and a more prepared kitchen, it could have been much better than it was. The straw that broke the camels back though, was that the game went to overtime, and the bar staff announced they were going to kick us out at 4am whether the game had finished or not 😳

Not the best experience. We downloaded the app to order drinks and food, but after around a 15-20 minute wait after ordering drinks we questioned at the bar if they'd received them. (Bar was pretty empty). We were told the drink orders will have likely ended up at the hot drinks section and would have 'probably been thrown out', so they hunted through the bins to find them. Drinks arrived shortly after this. The food arrived near enough the same time as the drinks after this had happened. The food was tasty, but was just say warm. Nobody's food was hot at all, as if it was standing waiting to be served for a while. Again, the bar wasn't that busy and most people were drinking watching football and rugby and not many eating. It's been a while since we've been here, but we have had some good experiences and food, unfortunately this was a serious let down.

What an absolutely lovely day we had! There were over 20 of us for bottomless brunch considering it was a busy Saturday afternoon the service was outstanding. The food was great and our drinks were replenished constantly. Honestly best bottomless I've had in Durham. Highly recommend.

We attended a boozy brunch at 12:15pm today and the service was absolutely phenomenal, there wasn't anything too much trouble and the waiter went out of his way to ensure we were happy with everything. Would highly recommend!🍹❤

It's just always so busy and cramped and you're lucky to get a table, so you and your friends have to stand around huddled together. You can go in the smoking area outside where it's less noisy and you can hear each other speak, but then you have to suffer the cold. I'm sure it's lovely on a week day but the weekends are just so busy and it's so noisy.

Went for BB (18/12/23) and our server was absolutely fabulous, she looked after us and kept the drinks flowing! The food was lovely and arrived quickly! Great Xmas afternoon! Thanks so much xxx

Venue was lovely and arguably it's best feature is the huge Riverside terrace which is what we went in for. Unfortunately when we went it had been raining and the terrace is only semi covered with umbrellas so seats were wet. The heat lamps weren't working and the fake grass flooring stank of old beer. I'd imagine in the summer it is beautiful but in the colder months it wasn't as enchanting as we had hoped

The ginger girl with the fringe behind the bar was so lovely! Served us with a smile on her face and could not have been more friendly.

The Library is an odd duck, a mixed bag of good food at a good value and overpriced beer. If you're going to the Library to eat, there's a good chance you'll be able to add a drink for £1–£3. And the food is fine: not great, but good enough that you'll come back. But if all you want is a drink, don't expect a deal. The beer list isn't extensive, but it's interesting and frequently changing. But honestly, if you can go to other pubs and pay £3–£5 for a great beer, how can you justify paying over £6 at the Library? Come for the food, enjoy a drink with the meal deal, but get your pints elsewhere.

Great experience on Wing Wednesday. Special mention to Nikita who is a fantastic host, going above and beyond for the customers!

The Cheesy Jo sub had approx. 1 tsp of minced beef in it. Dreadful. The superb staff - Denise, had mine re done but it was still an insult to the food industry! I suspect it cost £0.50 to produce and retailed at £9.50. In my opinion that is a total rip off, a company making as much profit for the shareholders as possible. Anyone who gives the food a good rating must have no nutritional or culinary experience. Your saving grace is Denise, who should be in your PR.

Absolutely amazing!! My friend and me came for the bottomless brunch yesterday and we were not disappointed!! I had the cheesey pizza and my friend had the burger, with buttermilk chicken breast! Our server, Georgia was the perfect hostest!! She was there when we needed her, and didn't let our glasses run dry!! Very friendly and helpful, it was the perfect experience!! We will definitely be back!!!

My wife booked a bottomless brunch for us both for our stay in Durham.. I was a bit hesitant as I've done other bottomless brunches before and you always seem to be awaiting you're next "top up".... Not here. Craig the barman looked after us amazingly...making sure we were OK and forever serving us at the table👏... Serving us before any of the other customers made us feel really appreciated... Can't recommend this place enough for the selection of drinks cocktails food ect... If Craig sees this as I hope he does he will remember us. Cheers Craig too you and the staff of The Library...we will be defo booking it again on our next visit. Thanks Col and Karen.
