Sunday lunch is pretty poor to be honest. Bitter turnip and lumpy mash and soggy Yorkshires.

Fantastic. Home cooked meals. Good atmosphere and great service. Try their sizzlers. They are fantastic.

Good food but needs a referb asap

11 of us went to celebrate a family 80th birthday, the table was booked 3 weeks in advance. We were informed that it would be 2 adjacent tables of 6. When we arrived, it was 1 table for 9 and another table for 3, the table of 3 was set behind the table so we were unable to have a conversation. This was really disappointing. I asked a staff member if we could move the table to join the large table, and we were told we couldn't. We informed staff 3 times that we had been promised 2 tables of 6 but were just dismissed. For a very special occasion, we were very disappointed

Traditional food, good prices and lovely staff

Beautiful, traditional style pub. Staff are really friendly and there are a few different sections with different seating and setting. Food is awesome.

Absolutely disappointing after being recommended by friends. Three of our party had pork belly which was totally undercooked with a selection of vegetables which were overcooked and possibly had been sitting around for hours. Will not be going back!

Not as good as it used to be now. Spent £187 on food & drinks for 8 Adults & 1 Child. Took them 40mins to give us our first drinks. The burger in the tower burger was burnt and the cod had charcoal bits on....so basically it wasn't cooked separate. The staff never once asked if everything was okay with our meals. Also the table we sat at was so tight, it was right up against the other table that people were sat on. And the day after I was told by a few people, that it's gone right downhill...which is very sad!!

Traditional pub with homemade meals. Massive portions.

We had Christmas Dinner here and the food was spectacular the atmosphere was great. This was my first time going out for Christmas Dinner as I usually make it myself. I definitely recommend 👌

Great restaurant. Mixed grill on Wednesday is AMAZING! My favorite is their Scampi and chips! Delicious doesn’t describe food here enough! Sunday lunches are 12/10! Ha ha!

Excellent food and fantastic value. They own a bakery so get their blackhill stories while you are there. Lovely filled with ham and peas pud.

Well had a fault with my Yorkshire pudding but rest of meal was tasty Hot and well cooked staff did ask how meal was and offered a refund well know was given but was realy no need for it rest of the food was good and a mistake I am sure happens it bigger and posher places as for staff. Always polite and helpful

We go to the Hobson for meals on a regular basis and have done for a number of years. The staff are great and friendly. The food is fabulous and great value. I can't say which is our favourite meal as we have tried just about everything on the nenu and they have all been lovely. Love the fact that they have daily specials too and the homemade chips are the best. If you have never tried it then you need to .. one of my favourite places

Booked up for a Friday night. 4 of us all had great meals. Honestly, I do not know how they produce such good food and good-sized portions for the price. Some of our main courses were only £7.95 It was so good we booked while there for the next Friday night.

The food is consistently lovely. 7.95 for 2 courses. Steak pie chips with separate portion of veg. Pie was like 2lb of meat !!!! Delicious Pud was lemon cake and custard but theres more to choose from. Lovely staff too definitely our new go to place

Having been back recently I'm not as keen. The foods ok the wine is warm and Very sticky tables my dinner plate actually stuck to the table

First time there for a year. Excellent meal and great value. We have added it to our regular list. The 2 young ladies serving were first class. They were very busy but nothing was a problem. Will be back soon.

We visited for the first time on 5th july, we were in the area, and decided to give it a go...Plenty of parking in the car park...Nice country pub, with very welcoming staff, very friendly and helpful..Menu was all home cooked food, and plenty to choose from...Well presented, served hot, and huge portions at very reasonable prices....definitely worth a visit
