The best restaurants in Sherburn County Durham North East

Came here for Sunday lunch with family and was greeted by the most relaxing atmosphere and tasty food. Definitely worth the visit. Friendly staff too! Was busy so would reccomend booking.

First time there. Went for Sunday lunch with family. A good selection of meat but the beef was especially delicious, very large portions. Plenty of veg, roast potatoes were really good. We asked for more gravy and the staff were happy to oblige. All in all a lovely meal.

Beautifully decorated restaurant. Fabulous meal, friendly owner and staff. Good value in a lovely atmosphere. Definitely one of our favourite places.

Amazing selection of drinks, the staff are friendly and so are the locals. The atmosphere in there is friendly and there's always someone to share a pint with.

Were advised when seated that there was a 30 min wait for food, but the hot drinks would be served straight away - what they should’ve said was drinks would be around 15 mins, and then you’d be given the wrong coffee because the lad didn’t listen properly when I placed my order. My friend and I ordered from the blackboard specials; we waited much more than 30 mins- his fish sandwich and chips was to his liking, but my bacon, brie & cranberry toastie was tragic - the bacon looked reheated, and the brie was not warmed through. Both meals were £9.50 each which was ok for my friend’s meal, but for a sub standard toastie and a few lettuce leaves? I have felt ill all afternoon, but don’t know whether to blame the toastie or that my coffee was not made with soya milk as requested? Either way, we will not return as there are other places nearby that offer better service and value.

Ordered food with a 60 minute delivery time. Told it would be delivered within the next 80 minutes. Over 3 hours later and we are still waiting.......

A great place for a light lunch after a walk, but we wre a bit disappointed that the choice was very limited. Seems strange to serve crisps with a baked potato! I enjoyed my quiche.

Booked last minute as a stopover on a long journey and would definitely stay again. Immaculate throughout, big room with extra touch of takeaway cups to make a drink to take with you. Ate in restaurant, service was fast and food fantastic. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Opened curtains to a lovely view onto a field of horses. 100% recommend

A good takeaway other than unruly juveniles running about outside. Not the fault of the owners. Doesn't take cards. Cash only which is outdated and inconvenient.
