Hardly any filling on the sandwich, the sausage roll is the smallest I have ever seen!

The ladies working here are very friendly with each other and with the customers and seem to enjoy making conversation. Sadly we haven't found much that's very good here - the sausage rolls and other baked goods are always room temperature at best. The meal deal sandwiches are alright.

Sandwiches are superbly made! Spotless, store with friendly, cheerful staff. A little gem of a bakery.

Recently we happily celebrated my wife's 70th birthday. We held a back garden "do" for our friends and neighbours. I asked the girls at my local Cooplands to help me with catering and was highly delighted with the result. The cakes, sausage rolls, various filled rolls were all of the highest quality. Will definitely recommend Cooplands to anyone planning to host small events.

Chicken salad sandwiches are so good, the seafood cocktail ones are really tasty and well filled. The staff are always friendly and polite. Always impressed when I go there

UNFORTUNATELY Cape to Cairo Shildon is closed now. Totally unexpected find in Shildon. Very interesting and different menu cooked by one of the owners who is from Sierra Leone and therefore had her own take on all the dishes on the menu. Both the chef and her husband are extremely friendly and made the visit even more memorable. We were fascinated to find that the first passenger railway in the world started outside the restaurant (which was a pub in those days) and passengers bought tickets actually in the room we were eating in. Well worth a visit and we'll be back soon
