Costa Coffee - Bowburn Drive-Thru in County Durham

Wonderful service, marking down on food as the bacon sandwich, both bun and meat were very crispy

The car park is operated by a malicious company. Stays over 2h are charged with £100 despite being a paying customer in an almost empty shop.

First time in a costa, the staff were lovely and hot chocolate was one of the nicest I've had.....the place was lovely n clean and deco lovely too...very pleasant place to meet up

Why they can put the tray trolley out so you can tidy up is beyond me. They struggle to clear the tables, let alone use a sweeping brush.

Disappointing Experience at Bowburn Drive-Thru I regularly visit the Costa Coffee Bowburn Drive-Thru for meetings and have always received great service—friendly, warm, and efficient. However, my experience on 28/02/25 around 12:45 was disappointing due to one particular staff member. I ordered two coffees and a Pupachino for my dog. The Pupachino was initially forgotten, which wasn’t a big issue, but when I asked again, an older blonde woman, who appeared to be in charge, made the situation uncomfortable. She loudly announced across the room, “Well, it’s a 50p charge!”—which we had no issue with. She then struggled to process the charge and said, “Well, I suppose we will have to give it for free then,” before speaking into her headset. Another staff member then came out and charged us the 50p. While I have always had great experiences at this location, this staff member’s attitude made us feel unwelcome. It was disappointing, especially given how fantastic the rest of the team usually is. I hope this was just a one-off, as I’ve always enjoyed coming here.

Great stop off point when travelling on the A1. Comfortable, clean, offering a wide range of food and drinks.

always clean, friendly and lovely place to go. it is a regular place with a friend for catch ups. the only thing that would make it any better would be possibly an activity wall or outdoor area, however not really much space for that

Went to the drive thru today the middle aged lady with glasses and curly hair working had such an awful attitude and can across like she didn’t want to be there saying ‘there’ anytime she handed a drink. Won’t be back in a hurry if a know she’s on shift. All the other staff are lovely.

The staff members Leanne and Leon went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The cafe was clean and everything was to a very professional standard. We will certainly be visiting again.

No paper in both toilets, dirty toilets, not enough staff to serve all people. If you want go to toilets you are limited.

Really handy drive through for a coffee and a sneaky millionaire shortbread on the way to work. Quick service and friendly team.

Usual high standard of costa. Great location no hassle.

Again very expensive and I would not even mind paying the prices. However, the customer service is mediocre at best. Also as ever the tables are sticky and the chairs and floors are covered in crumbs. I don't know how we came to accept these standards we can now only ever vote with our feet because if you ask someone to clean the table or chairs the looks you get are appalling.

Came for an afternoon coffee after Christmas shopping. I ordered 1xalmond milk mocha and 1x normal mocha. The normal mocha was made incorrectly. More like a cappuccino instead of mocha. Went back to get this corrected and Leanne stated it was a mocha as she watched the coffee being made. Both drinks were distinguishably different in colour and taste. Leanne then proceeded to mock me whilst making the correct coffee. Her attitude stinks, very poor customer service skills and very rude. First and last time I will visit this branch. The prices aren’t normal Costa prices either

Lovely coffee but rather slow service

Don’t go there. It’s the most expensive coffee maybe in the World. £3.25 for a regular flat white, with their standard coffee. All the signs in the shop have lower prices on as well, so you order something thinking it’s going to be one price but the actual price is more. The staff just say “oh the signs are wrong, we are a franchise..” it’s just pure profiteering from the franchisee. Also they don’t let you use your Costa points there. I had enough points for a free coffee, I bought 2 coffees but had to pay for both of them..you can’t use the points if your order is more expensive. Again “because they are a franchise” it shouldn’t be a Costa. Not going back.

Toasties and coffees were first time we've been to coasta since lockdown. We weren't sure what to expect. Difficult to know what rules about masks are from one venue to another so felt little uncomfortable when we were in buy coffees and food were still lush. Lovely spaced out and clean. Staff helpful kind.

I used to like coming here. I would come on a weekly basis these past months (as would my best friend) to pick up a coffee on our way to meet for a walk during lockdown. It was good coffee and nice service. Well, I won't be going there anymore, or any Costas for that matter. I realise you have a parking limit, and evidently it is signposted, but I am not sure I understand why as there is nothing around there and the car park is never full. I came and parked there to meet a friend for a catch up about some difficult family circumstances. While I hadn't expected to be more than 2 hours, our conversation and timing meant I left 17 minutes later than expected. Imagine the shock when I got a £100 fine in the post. This can't be for practical reasons (ie, a busy city centre location where they don't want people parking and not getting coffee) but simply to make money. As a result, I won't be going here again or to any other Costa. Hate writing such a negative post, but there you go.

Terrible! Sat inside and Tables not being sanitised in-between customers! If you were allowed to leave rubbish instead of clearing it away yourself something might be done about cleaning! Not safe! Floors where really dirty where we were from previous customers! Disgrace! Don't want to add a rating but have to so post goes through! Should be minus!

The staff were both lazy and rude they first forgot what I ordered then after I paid I got half and had to ask for what I wanted again and it took a very long time

One of the best Costas I’ve ever visited, staff were lovely and kind! Food was fresh with a good selection in stock still. coffee/hot chocolate was hot and delicious. Very different compared to other costas we have been to, great team here and managing staff are amazing 👏🏻
