A great place for a light lunch after a walk, but we wre a bit disappointed that the choice was very limited. Seems strange to serve crisps with a baked potato! I enjoyed my quiche.

The mixed fruit crumble & custard was absolutely delicious just what we needed on a cold wet dull August afternoon after a muddy walk around the Causey Arch tracks. Great service. Very friendly & helpful staff. The lovely owner very kindly let me hose down our muddy dog & he was made very welcome. He had a fresh water bowl plus a special treat. Sausage!! Lots of delicious home baked goods on display & at very reasonable prices. Huge portions too. Highly recommend.

Visited today with friends, we enjoyed a tuna mayo sandwich as described on the menu and slice of cake afterwards. When we got the bill we were charged £5 each for the sandwiches which was 50p more than we were expecting when, this was queried we were told the mayo was an extra filling. We were also charged £4 for a slice of cake even though it was enjoyable we thought the price was a bit steep. When we checked the menu it should have been served with custard, cream or ice cream we weren't offered any, again when this was queried we were told in no uncertain terms that all cakes were £4. When I tried to explain we weren't offered custard, cream or ice cream the server just repeated all cakes are £4. It's the first time we visited since it changed hands, needless to say we won't be back!

Service and food was not good. A toasties ordered was practically empty of filling. The place was busy and the service was rushed. It could have been better. The prices were not competitive!

Called in for a late breakfast, the cafe is small but cosy and nicely laid out, and the food all good. Table service and pleasant staff.

I visited the café with my daughter, after hearing great reviews. We ordered 2 scones and 2 bowls of vegetable broth soup. And we're really looking forward to it. Unfortunately mine was like dish water with a coupl of spoonful of mush. It looked like they had run out, so watered it right down. My daughters was a little better. I didn't eat it and complained to a girl cleaning the tables. Of course she wasn't in the slight bit interested. So I mentioned it when we went to pay. She just said sorry about that. I still had to pay for the swill! Not good

This cafe serves basic good such as homemade pie chips, cakes etc. It has an open fire very welcoming especially for passing walkers, well supported by the workers in the area. Prices reasonable, decent helpings, friendly staff. If you are looking for all the above this cafe is with a visit. I have been several times and always enjoyed it.

Enjoyed a lovely coffee and cake at this little cafe after our walk to the Causey Arch, which is hidden away by the small car park. Well worth a visit as the food looked very tasty with reasonable prices.

We are now regulars at this lovely warm and welcoming bar. Particularly if you get a seat by the real fire. We started off coming in for a drink with our dog. We decided to try the food on one of these visits. We are so happy we did. The food is very well priced but it is all home cooked and fabulous. The chips are fantastic and highly recommended. Whenever we have been in for food we come away with chicken for the dog which is so generous. Definitely try this lovely county pub. Full of locals with a great atmosphere and warm welcome.

First visit to the Causey Arch and the Causey Arch Café. The café is dog friendly, which is a must for us. There were other dogs and owners (all friendly), families with children, and some cyclists - a nice mix. The staff at the Café were welcoming and friendly and the cakes and hot food seemed home made. I had cauliflower cheese and my partner had jam pudding and custard, we both enjoyed our food, which was very reasonably priced. The café itself is basic, but with interesting things and lovely log fire, but has everything you will need after a lovely walk in the area. Enjoy!
