Beautifully decorated restaurant. Fabulous meal, friendly owner and staff. Good value in a lovely atmosphere. Definitely one of our favourite places.

Couldn’t fault this place, great food, excellent service, the decor is very nice and a big improvement from previous owners. The staff are very friendly.

First time here since change of ownership. There was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant on arrival, busy and warm … greeted by friendly staff at the bar and shown to our table straight away. We were offered drinks promptly and given menus to look at. Our glasses of wine arrived quickly - house wine was delicious, both red and white, and a complimentary glass of chilled water each. We ordered starters and mains which were so nice …. We even shared a dessert which we never usually order but we enjoyed our whole meal so much so why not ! The pana cotta was divine. All told, a lovely evening and we’ll definitely be back

Food and service outstanding. The chicken funghi was gorgeous and tiramisu excellent Emily provided wonderful service and made our visit. Always with a lovely smile and nothing was too much for her she is a credit to the restaurant We will be back x

This was our first visit for lunch and we were absolutely delighted with the experience. We had garlic mushrooms & meatballs for starters & we both had Tagliatelle with king prawns for main with a side of tomatoes & garlic bread to share. The food was divine, the service second to none & the surroundings immaculate, with beautiful furnishings. We can't wait to go again, thank you 💕

Went here for Sunday lunch yesterday as was recommended by my Mam. Greeted by the owner who was very friendly and chatted with my Mam as she goes here quite regularly.Then shown to our table. After quick service for our drinks and ordering our meals the four of us all enjoyed a very tasty meal. 3 had Beef dinner ( which was perfectly cooked)one had a pasta dish. Great to see this place under new management with a more tasteful decor and vibe. Front of house was excellent. Couldn’t fault any of the staff who were all lovely and very obliging. Look forward to returning soon.

We’ve supported this restaurant since it was taken over and watched it steadily decline. Food cheap and basic, which is alright for something quick when not wanting to cook. Tonight we booked thirty minutes before arrival for 16 ( yes we were shocked that this was possible at 8pm on a Saturday) Food basic, service okay, owner arrogant. We’ve visited regularly and paid cash over the last few month. Tonight despite letting them know when we booked it was a last minute get together following a family loss, and being regulars, they presented us with a card machine and a bill for £56 when we were leaving for 16 shots, that are normally offered to regular customers on the house. Once my family had left I let the owner know of my issue and I vow never to return.

What an improvement from our last visit when it was the Italian Farmhouse! The venue has been redecorated & appears brighter and cleaner with a more up market feel about it. We visited on a Thursday evening & took advantage of their early bird menu. This proved to be excellent value for money. Lots of choice and large portions of good quality, well cooked and nicely presented food. The manager was on hand to welcome us & supervise the young waiting staff - who although obviously still learning the ropes, did a great job. Thoroughly enjoyable experience and one we will definitely return to.

Had a delicious lunch with my two friends today at The Godfather. The food was cooked to perfection and the staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back and take the family.

We pre booked as a family of 6 for a Sunday lunch. This is the first time we had been since it being the Godfather but loved it as the Italian Farmhouse! The decor is so much more modern and the space feels a lot brighter. However there were several mistakes throughout the meal… drinks brought incorrectly and staff didn’t come across very accommodating to swap them. Then pasta was brought out instead of pizza for one of our younger guests. Finally veg and sides were missed from the roast for one guest with only a small ball of veg between the 3 of us having a roast. The chef said that vegetarians can’t have yorkshires or gravy or mash so sent none out… also, coffees were ordered with dessert but were not made. We spent over £100 for this meal and the food was relatively nice but we didn’t find the staff to be very friendly and the repeated mistakes made for a really disappointing meal out. There were tables around us with similar mistakes. We were all hoping for a lot more. Unfortunately, this previous local favourite is somewhere we won’t be returning and I would no longer recommend.

The food is exceptional, tastes and looks amazing, the staff are great, friendly, helpful and there at every time you need them at your pace and when you need them, so never rushed or left , plus there’s a great side bar for pre or after drinks if you want to mix it up , many thanks to all the staff and becks , will be back many times with me mam :)

Absolutely loved our visit for a birthday celebration. From the moment we stepped through the door the guys made it special! The new owners have really put their stamp on the place, it’s beautifully decorated and has a real authentic feel to it, including that Italian charm from all the staff 😊 The food was delicious, everyone from the party chose different menu options and each of us were all thoroughly impressed. The service really was something else, they honestly could not do enough for us and really made our night, thank you all! I cannot recommend this place highly enough, it’s a must visit.

We must have been here more in the past couple of months than we have in the past 10 years! The team are so welcoming even when you book last minute and they are absolutely excellent with our young kids! Great service and consistently great food! Highly recommend and hope to be back soon! Went for my son’s birthday and thought as it’s new owners why not. OMG it was terrible,absolutely rubbish. In short the pizzas were dry,the chicken oven baked and tuff,I got a lobster ravioli and ate one bit and left the whole dish,tbh I’ve has ravioli ten times better from M & S. the cheese and tomato garlic bread was dry and wafer thin and practically no one ate a thing and senior staff never realised most of the food was sent back. Trust me this place isn’t good, Don’t waste your money trust me!!!

Found this restaurant close to our winter getaway hotel and what can I say the staff the food and the service was 1st class, very flavorful and hot food , and the portions were huge very reasonable priced . Thanks to all evolved .

Great little restaurant in a little village off the beaten track. The food is great, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is agreeable. It's best to book whenever you go but especially for dinner as it gets a bit busy. The car park isn't very big but there is space on the road. I've been a few times and would go back anytime.

Sorry, but I won’t be back. I was a regular at the Italian farmhouse, but hadn’t been for a couple of years. I was persuaded to go back based on the recent reviews, but I have to be honest, I was disappointed. It was a special family occasion and to be fair to the restaurant I did get the table that I asked for, which was nice, the only real positive. Unfortunately I thought the service was slow, we waited an hour for the main course, but quite happy if the food was going to be good. I ordered the signature dish, the camberoni, which was always my favourite dish. I’m sorry, but very very average and not the way it used to be. One of my guests had the pizza and in their words it was very doughy. Overall, I was very disappointed and thank God the company was good or it would have been a bad night.

This restaurant has ambience..great staff...and wonderfull food. I had one of the best Calzone I've ever had and my wife really enjoyed her Italian Chicken Supreme. Top marks from us both !! The place is a little hidden gem

We went for lunch for my husband’s birthday and it was excellent. The fixed price menu of £14.95 for three courses is brilliant value. We had the garlic mushrooms, chicken liver parfait, tagliatelle bolognese and pollo Pepe verde and then ran out of room for dessert otherwise it would have been profiteroles and lemon cheesecake too. The restaurant is warm, tastefully decorated, well laid out, comfortable and it wasn’t too busy so we had a lovely, long lunch followed by coffee. A special shout out to our waitress, Emily, who was friendly, efficient and very professional and a credit to the restaurant. We will definitely be back.

Visited as a party of 17 to celebrate my Mam's 75th birthday. The food was great and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The Italian Farmhouse has always been a family favourite of ours, however following a couple of surprisingly negative experiences following reopening after the Covid crisis we had stayed away until recently. I understand the restaurant is now under new management and it certainly shows. We look forward to visiting again very soon.

I went here tonight , I’m currently saying at the Ramside hotel I found their prices crazy , so I decided to venture out and looked on TripAdvisor and found this little beauty only 7 minute drive, fantastic food, fantastic Price fantastic staff highly recommended

This was our first time visiting and it definitely won’t be our last! Such a lovely cosy place. The food is amazing! The staff are so friendly and welcoming and a credit to the management. Would definitely recommend! Can’t wait to go back again!

The good first - The food was very good and the portions were generous. We started with the bruschetta al pomodoro - well plated and stacked with tasty ingredients (and plenty of garlic!). My wife had the lasagna and I had the penne pollo al rosso. Both were very well cooked and tasty as well. The menu had a number of good looking items and making a decision was difficult. We passed on desert. As the title of the review says: go for the food! The food we had was great. Things to work on - The table top was sticky to the point of distraction. In noticed a woman at another table had unfolded her serviette and spread it out so she could comfortably rest her forearms on her table. I followed suit. To be honest, I do not think it was a cleanliness issue as much as a table finish issue - it was tacky because it had the wrong finish for restaurant use (repeated cleaning). Also, there were fairy lights in an interesting-looking trellis on the ceiling - I would have liked to have seen them but they were not turned on even though it had become dark outside. Next, the service. Though it was not crowded, we felt ignored. There seemed to be a communication issue the evening we were there. New staff? Possibly. We are Americans and know that our accent can be difficult to understand by some (though we have lived in the UK 12 years) - this was our first trip to this part of England, so who knows. Case in point: I asked for a regular coke ("full fat" as well) and was offered PepsiMax - the waitress did not know it was a diet drink. Regular coke was on the menu but she did not say they were out, for what it was worth. I just went with water because I knew they had it. We waited a long time to be asked about desert - might have had some if they had asked soon after we finished with our main course. Finally, though it was table service, I needed to go to the waitstaff station to ask if we could pay our bill after waiting a long time for someone to come by. Perhaps it was just an off night. As you can see, I've commented before on the inability of the Management and staff but I thought that they'd picked their game up...This was not the case last night, Wednesday 11th of August 2021 when we booked and went there at 6.30pm to celebrate my wife's Birthday. My wife and I have used this restaurant for many years since the days of the delightful Turget and the lovely Lorraine so we have had our fair share of meals there. No more though! Whilst the serving staff were keen and pleasant, this didn't detract from the inadequacy of their present manager. Several items on the Menu were 'unavailable' , beers were warm as the cooler was broken, we had the last bottle of cider and last bottles of beer...I did expect at the least, an apology or even a small discount or complimentary drink but no, nothing! Well, that's our lot and the last recommendations we will ever give them...They may have painted it and replaced the table tops but that's not enough! Beware of the Manager!

Have gone a lot as a family group of 9 (4 Kids) and the staff and service is always good. The food is always nice and the only downside is two of the group like ales and since the reopening the bar area has not sold any ale just lagers which all taste the same. But always enjoy the meal and never feel rushed.

We were looking at an Italian themed meal and The Italian Farmhouse came up on the search engine. Booked on line, got the booking confirmation so it was a “goer”. Staff were amazing, food was great, well presented, ample and of a high quality. If I had any gripes, this being an old public house, I would have hoped for some good old English draught ales.

We went here for an evening meal recently and in fairness the good bits outnumbered the not so good bits.Not overly busy ( we were the last to enter at 7.45pm ) and seated quickly.First downer was the wine list... my wife likes Prosecco and was looking forward to us sharing a bottle...until we saw the lack of choice and the price! Pennies under £29 for the only bottle of Prosecco they offer?!?! Really? It matters not that it's organic.... the same bottle is readily available on line at between £9.50 and £11. A mark up of around £20 is shocking....... The alternative was a Rose Spumante ( No, thanks ). She settled for a gin cocktail, I had a beer.The food was good in all fairness and both main courses were excellent.I ordered the cheese board, my wife ordered the chocolate ganache and a cappucino. The cappucino arrived within 5 minutes. 2 minutes later we were told ' no ganache... '. Fair enough. We said the cheesboard would be fine and we'd share it. 5 minutes later a waitress came and told us ... ' No ganache left, sorry'. We told her we knew, that's fine and could we have the cheese we'd ordered, please? Nope.... 5 or 6 more minutes passed and no cheeseboard. The cappucino was now well finished and staff were nowhere to be seen. It wasn't busy....less than 6 tables were occupied.We'd waited long enough and I asked for the bill....10 seconds later the cheeseboard came but I told them it was far too late, we'd waited 15 minutes plus, just the bill.Surprise....the bill had both the cheeseboard and ganache charged on it and we had to get the waiter over to sort the issue and remove the cost.Not a great end to the evening, I'm sad to say., but I'm sure it was just a blip. I like the Italian Farmhouse.... but an Italian restaurant which only offers one solitary bottle of Prosecco?? and at nearly £30? On our last 2 visits we've left a £10 tip each time, but I'm sorry to say no tip this time.

We came for a family reunion meal, three couples on a Saturday evening meal. It was some time since we had last eaten here, but we were not disappointed. High quality food in generous portions with friendly and efficient service. And sensibly priced too..My Chicken Kiev was superb (and huge), with perfect hand cut chips. Everyone's main courses were excellent, and we ended up taking spare pizza home as we couldn't finish them. Great night out.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere. Alex the manager gave us fantastic service. The first night we were there Matt looked after us really well too. Highly recommended. We ate there 4 times over the week and every meal we had was fabulous. Fresh and flavoursome ingredients. The chef does a great job. Despite just reopening after Covid restrictions lifting and with new staff the service was great. If you are staying close by well worth a visit. The early bird and lunch deals are good value. Can’t praise it enough. Keep up the good work.
