What a beautiful meal. Would definitely go back . Not the most inviting frontage but forget that and focus on the good. Succulent lamb . Chicken tandooried to sublime taste.
Reasonably priced . Wow
This is a gem of a pub, friendly, clean, light and airy. The music was excellent, the toilets, clean with many extras for the ladies. It seems they have thought of everything. It has a separate room with a pool table and there is parking close by, if not directly in front.
This is one of my favourite places for lunch. Small, family-run, very friendly, and fantastic real food. I've been here countless times and it's always a great pleasure - I go there several times a month. It's an awesome way to recharge for the afternoon! Delicious shawarma and grilled food. Daily special, which is always worth trying - very tasty and great value, such as aubergine kebab or bean stew. Flavourful lahmacun (Turkish pizza) too. Many options come with rice or bread or fresh salad - and the bread is baked by them every day. Another great sign is how the chef subtly varies the dishes each week - different balance of flavouring, different sauces - but always very tasty.
My HK friends wanted to try out this place and I was not disappointed! It is a hole in the wall sort of restaurant, most people eating are locals or workers getting a quick, cheap and easy meal during their lunchbreaks, but I can see why they'd choose this place! It's run by the family and everything feels very authentic and you can see them prepare your order right in front of you as there's no separation from the kitchen. Maybe some people would prefer something a bit more formal, but for a bunch of friends who were missing some good Cantonese food for not too expensive prices this was great. I got their HK milk tea which was deliciously refreshing and sweet, the market street platter and noodles with fried chicken. Their fried chicken is really great, captures that HK essence perfectly.
The food here is not meant to be that special or unique, but it is the real deal. And all for super cheap too! I love this place and will definitely be returning when I come to Newcastle again, I recommend it to all my friends!
I’ve had the pleasure of tasting a few of the mouth watering treats for here. The jam and cream scones are gorgeous, so light and fluffy, and the cheese scones are rich and tasty.
My personal favourite is biscoff and white chocolate cookie pie. Warmed in the microwave for a few seconds at home, with a cup of tea is my idea of heaven!
The staff are fantastic and always go above and beyond. Well worth a trip. You will not be disappointed
My first time back to Middlesbrough in decades and Base Camp checked all the boxes! Great music, wifi, super friendly staff and amazing food...! (I had the hummus toastie with salad and it was delicious. Unfortunately I scoffed it before i remembered i should take a photo). Looking fwd to coming back and catching a gig here the next time I'm up north,
The first bedroom when you go through the door is the best with some gorgeous artwork on the walls and some cool patterns on the back of the door. Always have a great time whenever I go and i always get served with such good quality fancy coffee. Nothing better.
What a hidden gem! Afternoon tea today at The Coppertree Cafe. Choice of 3 sandwiches, fruit scone or lemon and blueberry with clotted cream and jam, a cheese scone, steak or corned been pie or quiche, and a choice of freshly baked cakes! I went for lemon slice and Nutella cake. A macaron and unlimited tea and coffee. All of this for £12.50!!! Can’t believe theses lovely ladies bake everything fresh each day and they have only been open for 3 months. They also do a range of home cooked meals homemade broth, chicken curry etc! I would definitely recommend a visit!
First time in there, live local and it has not long been re-opened. The board outside with quiz night drew us in. We went in with average expectations but actually had a really good night. The food is pub grub, but it was nice, and plenty of it. The quiz was one of the best I have been to, and the quiz master was entertaining. Shame there was not many people in there, but I guess it is just a case of getting the word out that it is worth a visit. I don't often review places, but thought it well deserved one.
