My first time back to Middlesbrough in decades and Base Camp checked all the boxes! Great music, wifi, super friendly staff and amazing food...! (I had the hummus toastie with salad and it was delicious. Unfortunately I scoffed it before i remembered i should take a photo). Looking fwd to coming back and catching a gig here the next time I'm up north,

All the staff were super friendly and the food was simply amazing. The venue itself is a beautiful building, with a bright and friendly feel, with space for events and film screenings - plus it’s only a 5 minute walk to Middlesbrough train station. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a friendly atmosphere and good vegan food!

I've visited Base Camp three times and each occasion it has been amazing. Venue & Staff The venue is fantastic - there's been so much love and care and creativity gone into its development. The place is massive, I had no idea, and with loads of different rooms and themes going on. I went to a Life Drawing class between lockdowns in one of the spaces - it was beautifully lit, really relaxing (and of course they were really careful about all the social distancing stuff). There's lots of opportunities to find an area to suit you - whether you're wanting a band night or something more relaxed. I've also attended the opening event between lockdowns and loved it - we were in one of the larger, main spaces with a stage and an amazing bar. You can absolutely tell how much the staff 'belong' there - they're all so full of life and creative energy. They're very accepting of everyone - I always feel at home there, there's such a mixed and friendly crowd. Events As above, both events have been brilliant. Well run, lots of "extras" - the opening event offered cheese and nibble boxes and cocktails. They'll go above and beyond to make it an amazing experience for everyone who steps through the door. There's loads of events coming up, lots of quality music, established and new bands. Food & Drink I popped for lunch recently at the Vintage Market and had a Seitan burger. So good to find veggie and vegan food that's different - there's been a lot of creativity gone into the menu and it's really good quality, flavoursome and modern. The drinks are unreal - they have an excellent cocktail menu and always seem to have new and inventive ones on - the espresso martini is AMAZING - wish I could have one with my lunch every day 🤣

Came here for bottomless brunch, one of the best we have had in town. To start with the food was good. And the drinks were plenty we were never left sat waiting with an empty glass like we have in other places. We are already to book up again!!!! Thank you for looking after us!!!!
