Excellent meal and brilliant service . I was up in Middlesbrough to watch the football and a former employee recommended this place to me . It was a great shout - highly recommend

I visited with my wife and out two young boys on a Sunday for lunch. The food was great (chicken dinner) and my boys ate for £1 each! Great value and definitely recommend.

Great little micropub that has a wonderful atmosphere. Food is great, service is fantastic and the staff are so friendly. They also have plenty of tvs with sky sports.

Great bar, not so great restaurant. Although mentioned to not have certain things within the selected dishes, it still had those and if not, it still smelled and tasted like it was in the oven at the same time with the items mentioned not to be included. For example, a burger was ordered however was mentioned to be plain and with no onion rings. The dish came with a basic dish with the burger having all of that but no onion rings yet the fries still tasted like onion rings. The table was also suspiciously sticky and the toilet was a mess.

Nice cafe and bar .You could easily walk past it so look out for it Staff and food good .Quick service even though there were busy

Service great. Lovely man serving us. Food v v v poor. Undercooked pink chicken. Was offered a new one but put off. Still charged me for the chips I ate off the plate. Won’t be back unfortunately. Nice drinks good vibe for a drink.

Food was decent. Table of "bottomless brunch" goers ruined the atmosphere a tad. Open kitchen is a good point but not when staff are visibly eating in the kitchen. Not a professional note. Other than that I approve.

A really underrated pub in Boro.

Been a here a few times for both food & drink and it always hits the spot. Wide varied menu with tasty food and everything is very well priced. Atmosphere is fun but relaxed, not overly rowdy like some places in Middlesbrough can be.

Too small and cramped for its purpose, too long to get served for a drink and couldn't hear the bar staff. This was at 5pm might be better at other times

Return visit and the food, service and quality remain first class. One of the best Sundays lunches I've had, hot, fresh food well presented, well worth a visit. The quality of the food and price put other places to shame.

Great little bar/bistro. Always busy on match days and always a good pint, food is lovely too. The bar staff are welcoming and attentive.

Went back after 3/4 years of not eating here. The menu has changed and it’s definitely not as good. I had pie of the day which was a pie top and was like cardboard the pie top. Sloppy cheesey mess was in the dish rubber chicken and rubber chorizo. My wife had a pork platter which was freezing cold, she told me the only good thing on her platter were the sausages. Very disappointed in this place and won’t be going back.

Absolutely gorgeous and well worth the price for a seating board for 2 compliments to the staff too they were all accommodating and friendly will deffo go back with my partner.

We wandered in on a wet Thursday night and got great service, great beers, spot on halloumi/mushroom burgers and meat burgers, and as my mate said, 'finally a parmo where the cheese sauce tastes of something'. Totally recommend.

If you are on the look out for a decent Sunday lunch. This absolutely ticks every one of my boxes . Opted for the roast lamb! Vegetables were cooked perfectly and gravy pulled it all together! Really well done guys! Ill

Arrived at 11.30 on Saturday and was told that they don’t serve food until 12.00. I said no problem, I’ll return at 12.00. When I came back, they said sorry we are booked up until 12.30. Thanks, could have let me know at 11.30! 🙁

Best decor of any place in Middlesbrough, definitely got the best tunes being played and the food was pretty good too. Nothing bad about The Chairman and would recommend it for anyone fancying a bite out in a decent place in central Boro. The half tiger loaf with curried chips on the inside was spot on.

Got a takeaway from the chairman, delicious Kiev Parmo. Chips were to die for. Spot on garlic. Lamb burger was lovey with Onion relish & goats cheese. Also had Sunday dinners from here which were also spot on!! Would definitely recommend to others. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a takeaway from here, dirty fries, nachos, a burger and a Parmesan (for 4 people) it was amazing, ready for collection on time, nice and warm and tasted delicious, bargain price for £30! Served with delicious chunky chips and a gorgeous salad! Our first takeaway from here and would highly recommend The Chairman.Well done to all the staff you are doing a great job!

One of the best Sunday dinners ive had for a long, long time!!!! Remarkable food!!! The 'pigs in blankets' were out of this world!... it was like each tiny little sausage was cooked on its own ❤🤤😂. Would highly recommend!!!!

Absolutely love coming to this place. On the eve of a national lockdown they go and give us 3 courses for £15 from anything off their full menu. Absolutely top class from all staff and management putting their customers first at such hard times ahead for them. Food perfect as ever. I’ve never had a bad meal here!Bring on the takeaways!

Just had a dinner cost 9.95 the worst dinner I've ever had avocado in veg mangetout undercooked garlic roasties yorky looked like it been bashed about it was in pieces if you don't want to waste money avoid this place like the plague absolutely rank

Visited here for the first time yesterday evening with my other half and was not disappointed. A warm welcome from the lovely staff, a pleasant atmosphere and the food was excellent. We will definitely be returning!!

The food in the Chairman is absolutely outstanding. It’s also a really smart restaurant, in a beautiful part of town and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The fajitas are unbelievable.

Visited here for a family sunday lunch..All social distancing measures were spot on and felt completely safe dining here.Staff were fab..Food however was of a very poor standard..I got the pork and it was inedible. It was more like a plateful of fat and gristle. The roast potatoes were hard and not roasted at all..Gravy was like water with a brown food colouring put in..Cauliflower cheese was lumpy bechemel sauce with a tiny bit of unmelted cheese on top..This food was just shot together by "chefs" and I use that term loosely, that have no pride in their work..Wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't return. I dine all over the north east for Sunday lunch and this is one of the worst I've had for a long time

Kiev Parmo might possibly the best parmo I've ever had. Brilliant standard of food all around and good selection of drinks.

We went as a 4 on a Wednesday to try their parmos. They had a huge selection, we tried chicken kiev, hot shot and the normal. We also got parmo chips and salt and pepper chips (yes we were hungry..)Everything arrived together and was boiling hot! The chicken from the parmo tasted extremely fresh, I am usually really fussy with chicken but this was delicious.The garlic sauce was also amazing, nice texture and not too overpowering.All reasonably priced too. I would definitely recommend!

Popped on for lunch mid-week, good very reasonable lunch menu available. Opted to sit outside to enjoy the nice weather. Had a pulled pork baguette which came with the best tasting chips!

Went for lunch at The Chairman with my partner on a Saturday afternoon - I ordered the pulled pork and caramelised onion baguette and my partner ordered the club sandwich, both served with chips. The food was delicious with the pulled pork in particular being incredible. I must also mention the chips, which were very good!The pricing is very reasonable - along with drinks we paid less than £25. I know that this restaurant prides itself on its range of parmos and I think we will definitely be back for an evening meal to sample one!

Came here last night with the family & we were not disappointed. On entrance there was hand sanitizer & tables adhering to social distancing. Staff were efficient & friendly. Daughter & myself had hotshot parmos & the were gorgeous!!!! Plus the chips were the best weve tasted...amongst order was chorizo burger & childs mini parmo. All of us left the plates clean & would definatley recommend. Cant wait to book again.

Massive thank you to Neil and the team. Called in for lunch on Saturday, we all had club sandwiches incredible value for money and the food was so good home made chips and a stacked sandwich. Can not recommend highly enough.

The food sounded like basic pub grub, but when it came it was extra special. It was honestly, the best ham, eggs and chips I have ever had. The staff were friendly, the portions large and the prices reasonable ☺️

It's been so long since we've been out for food! Could not be happier that normality is slowly but surely returning. First and foremost let me just commend this place for the safety measures they have in place, they're sensibly thought out and really well implemented.We really enjoyed our food, also having our first draught lager in almost 4 months was an absolute pleasure too! To start with we had camembert with walnuts, chilli jam (which was excellent) and pitta. For mains we tried the sticky salmon and noodles which were great, a club sandwich which was beautifully presented, cheese burger with chips and also some parmo style chips (chips, bech and cheese).Superb food, friendly staff, great location and nice atmosphere. Thanks a lot we'll be back.

Best cocktail making class I’ve experienced - lovely member of staff working with us, really down to earth and friendly - she was almost one of the girls! Lots of cocktail knowledge and she didn’t rush us to drink them and move onto the next. Loads of time to pace the drinks if you wanted to and time to eat too. Food was gorgeous and such good value for money. Been to this place for other days/nights out too and can’t fault it.

Third lunchtime visit to the chairman since Xmas. Fish finger sandwich, gorgeous home made chips and home made tartare sauce. Brilliant value, lovely staff, spread the word and give this place the business it deserves !

My husband and I just had Sunday lunch here on 1st March and it was a little underwhelming, nothing wrong with the food but nothing outstanding. The staff were lovely, attentive and we were served quickly

We went here today for the first time and had Sunday lunch... staff were lovely and friendly! The food was delicious too, literally couldn’t fault it. We got pork and lamb, both cooked to perfection. Already can’t wait to return. Thanks again.

Popped in this small but very friendly little restaurant for lunch whilst out shopping ,the starters of creamy garlic mushrooms with warm fresh bread were delicious,the nachos lovely,my husband and days partner both got the seaside platter which consisted of scampi, fish gougons,2 fish cakes, crushed minted peas,homemade tartare sauce ,bread and butter and a portion of chips ,amazing !!!,myself and my daughter got the chicken parmo with chips(home made) not frozen ,and four drinks came to £65 ,well worth the money and well worth a visit ,we will definitely be going back,a big thank you to the staff for the excellent service too .

Booked Christmas meal at The Chairman for work do...absolutely gorgeous food..I have never had such a lovely christmas meal.Price very reasonable & service was amazing. Visited as a group of 10 for our work Christmas lunch and were very impressed. The food was outstanding and excellent value for 2 or 3 courses. The Christmas dinner was the best ‘Sunday lunch’ I’ve eaten out and I’m definitely going to come back on Sundays in the future.

Were on a small pub crawl and called in for a beer. Returned an hour later for lunch as we had been impressed by the smell of food cooking in the on view kitchen. Good local craft beers also.
