The Twisted lip in Middlesbrough

Large variety of beers available, beautiful design and very friendly owners! Would 100% recommend visiting this pub.

The owner followed me to the bathroom and said “you better not be doing any of your gay s***” in here” and proceeded to scream at me till we left. The owner is homophobic and if you’re part of the LGBT+ community don’t go here, I did not feel safe.

Pub✔️ Staff❌️ Spent most of the afternoon there during the recent Orange pip market. Paid cash for 2x rounds, then refused service because they had no money in till. ????

Awesome bar, loads of character. Went for a comedy night, recommended.

After the disappointment of my desired craft beer bar being closed at 9:30pm across the road, the sounds of acoustic music drifted across the cooling May air from this delightful little hostelry. Well recommended.

Half decent selection of ales and a very quirky and interesting building in which to drink them. Part of the Baker Street/Orange Pip circuit of Middlesbrough.

Friendly, great atmosphere. Good beer and music.

Quirky designed pub offering real ale and decent selection of Brewdog on tap. The interior design is well done with a feeling of visiting an eccentric persons home, has small yard at back with seating too plus the theme continues upstairs. Real ales are well kept and is situated amongst several popular drinking spots, certainly worth visiting for the ale and thought that has gone into the decor. Didn't eat here so can't comment about food

Bar contents lacking when we visited on 29 Dec: no lager, ran out of normal gin, no lime: - and this was 8pm! good job the blokes with guitars upstairs made up for it!

Couple of craft beers on tap and OK quality. Nothing special for a craft beer bar (which is why I'm only giving it a 3...to get a 4 or a 5 there needs to a large selection of craft beer with high quality). To put it in perspective if no craft beer but nice venue with decent pint of john smiths, I'd score a 2. Interesting decor inside split over 2 levels and what looks like 2 adjoining buildings

I don't know what I was expecting the first time I went in the Twisted Lip, but it wasn't that! Insanely quirky decor coupled with a really eclectic mix of music makes this a wonderful place to have a couple of drinks or a whole evening. I'm definitely going back.

Wonderful little pub in the heart of Middlesbrough. Such a warm and friendly atmosphere with an eclectic mix of clientele. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a quiet drink in a lovely little pub.

Really nice place with friendly staff. Shame they didn't have dark beer but the Belgium Blue was excellent.

A difficult one, beer well kept but wasn’t to our taste. The building most definitely was and is very interesting so for me 3 for the beer (personal taste as it was served/kept well) 5 for the building, hence a 4 overall.

One of the best, friendliest drinking spots in the whole of Teesside. Music on a Saturday night upstairs second to none from the Dj and Soultrain images to get even the most dance wary foot tapper up and grovin! Without a G

Certainly a unique choice in interior decorating

So wierd and so cool. I went here with a mate one Thursday night which happened to be an open mike night. Some good acts were on. The pub itself is bonkers in its layout. Feels like two terraced houses have had a couple of walls knocked down by an amateur builder on a whim in the middle of the night whilst drunk- and it looks awesome! Two rooms downstairs with a bar and then a sort of big room upstairs with another bar. Decor is as if they typed in 'retro industrial' into ebay and bought the lot, and again it looks just awesome. We sat in a row of cinema seat which were arguably the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in in a pub. Am due in The Borough again in a while- totally coming back here. Loved the wierd vibe.

Funky little bar, staff friendly and helpful can get a bit cramped when it gets busy but always a good atmosphere. Prices i think are at the top end for Middlesbrough but worth a visit

Craft beer not for me but a great little bar.

I visited this lovely real ale pub.With three friends the pub manager Katie was very friendly and lit the fire for us.We got a three different ales on a board thirds of pints of some of the selection available. We stayed for longer than we scheduled would recommend this pub and friendly staff.

On the small side but very cosy and reasonably priced.

A great little micro-pub, where I enjoyed a few ales with pals before Albion's game against Boro'. It's a terraced house, which has been converted, with much expense spared into a pub. No frills but an authentic charm, good beer and it being a Saturday, no hot food but a range of really good, cold pies. The staff were welcoming and friendly, as were the locals.Some top choons were on in the background too. Recommended. Oh, we won 1-0.

Was actually in seven sins never been in twisted lip but I will try it when I'm back in Middlesbrough area
