We recently came to The Southfield for a bottomless brunch and we had such a great day! Not only was the food lovely, but the speed of the drinks was also amazing and it was more than value for money! We would love to shout out Mia, Charlie, Elle, Rachel, Meg and Adam for all of their hard work and hospitality! They truly deserve something special! I decided to take my mother out for Mother's Day. Unfortunately, due to ill health, I can't book anything in advance. I rang around the day before to get booked in for Mother's. The southfield was the only place we could get in. When we arrived we were shown to our table and that's it, no expectation that we have to go and order our food and drinks at the bar. I didn't rate the food at all, i would never return, the only good the is we got our mother out

We came for a girls brunch and we were served by a your lovely girl called Mia and she was absolutely amazing she went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience she definitely deserves recognition for her hard work and dedication to her job! Well done beautiful girl

Good beer selection with some craft offerings. Friendly and helpful staff, especially the landlord who is a great guy. We didn't eat but others looked nice.

Visited for Bottomless Brunch on Sunday, amazing service from start to finish, the team were all amazing, very friendly, relaxed and made sure we all had a lovely time. Shout out to Hannah who had to deal with my brother who doesn’t get out very much 😂, The drinks and food were of a very high standard and plentyfull considering the price. If you’re looking for brunch ideas in Middlesbrough The Southfield is the perfect place to book. You will be looked after and made to feel very welcome. 100% recommend!! Alyshea was great, she had a really busy section all day but managed to keep us topped up through our 2 hours. Always there to help and have a little dance with us! Will definitely be back because of her!

Nice place on uni campus. Had the avocado salad and it took about 20 min for it to come. Had quinoa in it so wonder if they had run out and had to make some quickly as it was pretty warm ... tasted lovely though . Good student discount fair pricing . Would go back again as the pizzas and chicken burger look amazing

This used to be a great pub and rated it a 5/5 for years. But I popped in today and the member of staff refused to keep an eye on my pint while I quickly nipped to the toilet. It felt really awkward and completely put me off staying for another drink. I hope this isn't the pub's policy as it seems extremely unreasonable to any loyal customers popping in for a beer. The bar itself was quiet, as you'd imagine at 6.50pm on a Sunday, so could've easily accommodated my request. I will look forward to the pub's response REPLY: I asked the member of staff if she could take my drink and put it behind the bar. She refused. I would completely understand if I had left my drink somewhere in the pub but not when I've asked if they could put it somewhere safe

Super chill pub with a great vibe, there’s also a projector and tv’s for matches ongoing all the time! They also got such nice cocktails and drinks which just go perfectly hand in hand with the pool tables and dart boards!! 10/10 pub

Came in for a bottomless brunch to celebrate my birthday! Dee was out server and she was absolutely amazing! Very fast and efficient service with a great energy and welcoming aura about her! Myself and my friends had a great time! Would recommend the brunches and Dee as a server anyday!

I have visited the Southfield on a number of occasions outside term time and always found it very good with food at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and efficient. Situated on the Teesside University Campus it is a large pub with a lot of covered outside seating. I imagine it will be very popular with students during term time. They have a pool table, live entertainment on a Friday night and plenty of screens showing sport both inside and outside.

Been coming to the Southfield for years (since my uni days) and it’s probably my favourite pub in Middlesbrough. The £6 lunch deal is a absolute steal. Staff are friendly and I always have a good experience food is very tasty too. Recently has became a regular spot for me and my friends to have a cheap mate date at. We want to try the bottomless brunch next. 😊

Always a good time in Southfields! Tasty food at a reasonable price, good selection of alcohol and soft drinks, staff are all friendly and hard workers, big beer garden with field and big car park. Love it when Jess is on shift too!! Great pub, worth a visit.

Catering for university students mainly, it has a fresh atmosphere with great outside seating, both under cover and out in the open. It's a bit noisy from the building work next door which is quite loud. Great summer time location and dog friendly. Plus, they serve a kilo of wings. What more do you want.

I've been a couple of times, and it's a very decent and lovely place to be. My favourite is the chicken wings, which I alsyws go back for, especially on Wednesdays when it's on for a giveaway price of 40p per wing! The customer service is sound too and they've got a spot for playing snooker, how cool is that?
