What a beautiful meal. Would definitely go back . Not the most inviting frontage but forget that and focus on the good. Succulent lamb . Chicken tandooried to sublime taste. Reasonably priced . Wow

I've recently returned to this Take-Away, I'm just so glad they have the same owner and standard of food. I've tried curries from all over South Shields and beyond but nothing as good as the Dopiaza or Madras they make here. Always excellent service and the owner really gives you that personal touch, just a gentleman. So it's over 30 years with a 2 year absence, just glad to be back. Forgot about the onion bhajis, hard to decide between the Stanhope and the impressive Star of India. Cheers also for your great delivery service.

Our first family home as a couple was too close to Stanhope Road where the Stanhope Tandoori was first established. We loved it then and maybes indulged in their food too often until the kids arrived etc.... As an anniversary treat tonight, we visited ‘online’ to see what the menu was like now. (We had always at least yearly gone back there as the Quality, price and taste was always spot on) yes, the menu has a touch of deja Vw for us personally but the delivery was prompt, service good and the amount of our meal was substantial, now everyone knows you could fill plates with poor food, but with the Stanhope Tandoori, it was beautiful and a really enjoyable way to treat ourselves and not our adult kids for once!
