Let’s be honest, the food is what matters, and in this case it’s beautiful. However, as a reviewer, I need to paint the whole picture. The restaurant is a small, shabby eatery with no proper bar and it’s quite run down. The toilet is directly off the dining room so not ideal. The service is good and the food is tasty and well priced, but if you’re going for a special occasion like a birthday, I’d have to recommend you go somewhere more upmarket. This was a curry place for years and they haven’t spent money on it since. I hope they do well, and I’ll continue to go, but it feels like half a job. Dining out is a treat for most of us and we want the entire experience.

Visited early Saturday evening hadn't booked a table but we were lucky enough to be able to get a table for 2. We have been regular diners here since the restaurant opened and the Thai food is the best we have had outside of Thailand. The restaurant is small but cosy with a lovely friendly atmosphere and staff are very accommodating. We had the sharing platter for 2 to start and Thai green chicken curry one with boiled rice the other with chips absolutely delicious washed done with an inexpensive bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Will we be back ..........we certainly will.

My and my wife went on Saturday at 7pm (12/08/17). The service was excellent, as the waitress showed us to our table and produced the menu & drinks list (drinks limited at the moment, bottle beer only, no draught, wine list ok). We ordered a diet coke and a bottle of beer, which came quickly with a bowl of crackers and a sweet chilli dip. For starters we had the mixed starter and the duck pancake. For main I had No23 Pad Khing with chicken and fried rice and Yvonne had No22 Prik Tai Dum with chicken and steamed rice. The starters were excellent as were the mains, could not fault the food 5star! Note: that if you produce your NHS I.D. you will obtain a discount. Well pleased with our visit, will be going back soon, and possibly going on a lunch time for the specials.

Popped in on my lunch break. I had not pre-ordered, so I opted to get a chicken burger. Service was rather quick, I only waited just under 10 minutes. Food was okay, fries weren't great but still edible and the burger was tasty but I feel it lacked a bit of seasoning. Paid £6 for the meal which I think was pretty good. I will return to order one of their specials soon, because from all accounts they are great.

Wolfmann’s is a pretty unique place in South Shields. Great healthy food, lovely surroundings and very nice staff. Our favourites are the Korean Fried Chicken and anything from the sea! There’s a distinctly Asian vibe with lots of the food but they also do great breakfasts, burgers and a fantastic Sunday lunch. There is also a lovely selection of cakes in the cabinet if you fancy something sweet. We need to make sure that good quality neighbourhood eateries like this stay the distance, so if you are looking for somewhere in South Shields that won’t disappoint, definitely try Wolfmann’s!
