Wolfmann’s is a pretty unique place in South Shields. Great healthy food, lovely surroundings and very nice staff. Our favourites are the Korean Fried Chicken and anything from the sea! There’s a distinctly Asian vibe with lots of the food but they also do great breakfasts, burgers and a fantastic Sunday lunch. There is also a lovely selection of cakes in the cabinet if you fancy something sweet. We need to make sure that good quality neighbourhood eateries like this stay the distance, so if you are looking for somewhere in South Shields that won’t disappoint, definitely try Wolfmann’s!

What a find Wolfmanns is! Varied menu, changed regularly but with consistently outstanding quality! The service is friendly but not intrusive, the place has a lovely relaxed ambience and it’s clean and welcoming. We had a fantastic two course meal, cooked to perfection and very tasty indeed! We’ll be back again soon!

Mothering Sunday lunch as a party of six and this place certainly didn't let us down. A fabulous three course lunch for the unbelievable price of just £21 Across our party we tried each dish on the menu and everyone remarked how tasty and well presented each dish was. The service was faultless and not too intrusive. At the end of the meal all the ladies in our party received a small parcel of chocolates, a nice touch. Pre meal drinks were at the equally charming Harton Hop House. Wolfmanns without doubt proudly sits atop of the South Shields restaurant scene.

Visited for lunch with my friend, the food was really nice, huge portions. Unfortunately the restaurant is cold The members of staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.

Great food, great service, great wine. Will be back very soon. Loved everything about the place. Cool as funk. See you soon.

Lockdown takeaway treat!I’ve only ever visited for a sit-down two or three times, but I thought I’d take advantage of the Covid lockdown to get a takeaway. It was amazing. So many Asian flavours. The Bibimbap with kimchi was great and my better half had an amazing beef rendang which just melted in the mouth. The cauliflower fritters with curry mayo are perfectNever fails to deliver the taste sensations

Cajun chicken burger - Been to Wolfmans many times and have always had a superb meal. On this occasion however the Cajun chicken burger wasn't to the usual standards. I have a cajun burger from here a few weeks ago and it was beautiful breaded chicken. The chicken this time however wasn't the same and wasn't to the same high standard. Have gave 3 stars as everything else was to the usual high standard.

Just another first class meal at Wolfmann’s. Collection only burgers on a Sunday due to ongoing Covid restrictions. Nice and safe and food delicious and messy. We had the double cheese burger which included all of the usual salad, mustard and pickles, and a lentil & bean burger with mango & lime pickle and a curry mayo. Superb

Favourite place to eat in South Shields. Menu is always changing and it’s all amazing! Worst thing is never knowing what to go for..... Can’t recommend this place enough!

Yet again another first class meal at Wolfmann’s. They never fail to deliver on quality, price and service. The restaurant has added a couple of extra tables since my last visit so a bit more scope to get a table during busy times or at the supper club. Belly pork Bahn Mi, crispy duck wontons and the crispy chicken and ginger broth were all packed with flavour. Will continue to visit again and again.

Great variety of excellent food. Always a changing menu, with good service & interesting desserts. Small number of tables & relaxing atmosphere.

I had heard great things about this place from family and friends but had somehow never got round to visiting. So after an early finish from work we decided to go for lunch. There is a very chilled atmosphere and an eclectic mix of music playing in the background. The lunchtime menu includes a few main dishes with various paninis. I opted for the lamb and harissa burger while my wife went for the cauliflower and chickpea samosa. They don't sell alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own. The bill came to £30 that included soft drinks and coffee. The staff are super friendly and very informative when it comes to explaining the various dishes. We will return to try the dinner menu.

Have been on many occasions and every time, the food was fantastic. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. I have yet to experience dinner there, but I can't wait to!

Excellent food, which is totally different from the menu found in most cafes. All homemade and absolutely delicious. We have ordered buffets from here for work and they have always been of excellent quality and have impressed both colleagues and visiting staff. Sandwiches in the homemade sourdough bread are fantastic along with the excellent salads. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Have wanted to visit Wolfmann’s for ages. They once did an incredible buffet for us at Old Cinema Launderette and have watched their Menu’s with interest on Social media.Today’s lunch was as expected. Freshly cooked, full of flavour and creative. I need to think of another reason to visit South Shields :)

I have only visited here a couple of times but it is honestly so lovely. The food is always fresh and you can tell effort and care has been taken by the chef and it's not just another order to them. The flavours are always lovely and you can tell no corners have been cut when choosing the ingredients. There is really no where else like this in South Sheilds and well worth a visit

Visited for Sunday lunch in the new once a month event. One sitting at 12 and another at 2.15pm. I had the belly pork which was a nice big portion accompanied with roast potatoes, carrot and greens. The Yorkshire puddings were nice and stodgy to soak up the gravy. My wife has the beef shin with mashed potatoes. Both dishes were beautiful. We finished off with a lemon meringue tart and a stick toffee pudding. Definitely one of the best Sunday lunches around, make sure you book for next month’s lunches.

Wolfmanns is a lovely little place just a short walk from chichester metro. The cafe has an upmarket feel and the food is homemade in an open kitchen.

We visited this great little restaurant last night for the first time with friends who’d eaten there several times previously. Our meal was great and everyone was pleased with the food they ordered. One member of our group has allergies and intolerances and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful in accommodating her needs making sure she had a meal to suit her. I enjoyed tasty salt and pepper squid followed by a perfectly cooked rare steak. We liked the bring your own bottle arrangement and will be back soon!

Have visited Wolfmann’s a few times and never been let down. The portion sizes are always generous and always tasty. My wife had the chicken Bahn-mi and I had the harissa lamb burger. We had a cherry bakewell and salted caramel shortcake for dessert, with two drinks each it came to £30. Will be back again and again

The portions are a generous helping so we share a starter, have a main and are too full for a desert.

My daughter and her husband eat here regularly so I finally agreed to go along with her during the Christmas Hols for lunch. We managed to reserve a table (they can't always do this as they get full quite quickly). We took my little grand-daughter along who is 8 months old and they have a high chair. They don't provide alcohol but you can take your own. The food is just lovely. They do different dishes each day and have specials. They tend to have the same sides - the Cauliflower Fritters are to die for! Also the Salt and Chilli Chips. I opted for a Crispy Chicken Red Thai Curry and was not disappointed - very tasty and healthy with crispy veg in it. My daughter had the Harissa Lamb Burger and that looked and tasted lovely (she let me have a piece!). It was a very nice meal and it is refreshing to have somewhere like this in our town where the food is fresh and tasty. It is a small place but people were queueing up to get in as we left. We will no doubt be back very soon!

Lovely little caff close to metro. Limited menu but great food- mainly work an Asian twist. Proper quality. Plus it's BYO. Can't wait to go back

I had heard of Wolfmanns and read the very positive reviews so was expecting something special and I was not disappointed. Wolfmanns is a small eatery serving outstandingly good food using excellent local produce sourced by a John Weightman the chef and owner. John has a wealth of experience which he brings to his new eatery.

Been meaning to try this little place which boasts several amazing reviews for some time now. Lived in South Shields all my life and I can honestly say we seriously lack independent eateries off this quality.popped in with my son and his girlfriend today for what we’d thought was a quick coffee and a glance at their menu for another occasion. Needless to say first impressions were great. Warm friendly welcome, awesome smells as you open the door, and a menu that made it impossible to have ‘just a coffee’. We chose a couple of small dishes to share as a sample - the cauliflower fritters with curried mayo were a huge success. We bought cakes/sweet treats, all boxed up for consumption at home (all really lovely).

This place is absolutely fantastic and the rest of the establishments in town need to take note. Wolfmann's offers the best dining option in South Shields by a long way and serves fantastic quality food. I had seared salmon and mussels in a lemongrass and coconut broth, served with rice noodles and an assortment of greens. Quite simply this was the best dish I have ever had in this town and I have lived here almost my entire life. The dish was cooked perfectly, the freshness of all the ingredients was evident and the combination of flavours was perfect. The broth was so perfectly balanced with perky citrusy/sharp undertones and a spicy little kick to follow. The broth was so great that I mopped up any that remained with some just as superb bread. It is the little things that make the difference! I could not fault the service either, everything came promptly and the staff are incredibly friendly and approachable. It was really enjoyable to hear how passionately the head chef was talking about food as this is something you do not tend to find in South Shields. You get all of this quality and the price is fantastic value too, what more could you want? I cannot recommend the food in this place enough. One slight negative was the quality of the coffee I had after the meal, the milk was under foamed and slightly over-steamed. I am incredibly critical when it comes to coffee though so do not be put off, it could have been a one off. Finally, just a little heads up to those that are not aware, it is bring your own alcohol. The menu is updated weekly and available on the facebook page, which is helpful should you want to pair a wine with a certain dish. Try it out and thank me later.

Originally from South Shields but now living in Kent and wanted to visit Wolfmann’s on our next trip home. We certainly weren’t disappointed. Fantastic food, really great, friendly staff and a cool vibe. Literally can’t fault it! What a great find.

One of the best things to happen in South Shields for a very long time. Innovative menu that is delivered fresh, fast and very reasonably priced. The chicken salad is utter genius! I can not recommend the place enough. Do yourself a massive favour and visit. 12/10!

What a find this place is. Called in on a recommendation from a friend. My wife had crispy ginger chicked with salad, tomato and soy. I had the brie, bacon and red onion toastie with homemade sour dough bread. The crispy chicken was superb with a mixed vegetable stir fry, it was a huge portion at £6. My toastie was fantastic, the bread superb and excellent value at £4.50, especially for the quality of the food. If you like food just that little bit different with a Thai or Vietnamese twist this place is definitely worth a try. We will be returning in the very near future.

Based on word of mouth we booked a table last Saturday and soooo glad we did. Short menu but that means the food is fresh and exciting and most importantly very very tasty. Nice chilled atmosphere with the ability to bring a bottle keeping the costs down. Quick, friendly service, we’ll definitely be coming back soon! Stay away everyone as that means I can get a table!

We have been a number of times since we found this little beauty over a year ago. There are always new and interesting meals and sour dough sandwiches on the menu, together with some regular favourites. We have never been disappointed with anything we try and will often share between ourselves so no one misses out. The owner John loves food and you can clearly tell this when you discuss his menu with him. He takes pride in his creations and only uses quality ingredients.

From the breakfast menu we had poached eggs with crispy bacon rashers and tomatoes on sour dough bread which was excellent, washed down with a very good large americano.

Wonderful lunchtime visit. Pork bun exploding with flavour and heat. The other half had the chicken katsu which was again fresh and full of flavour. Great service. All in two meals, three drinks and a plate of fries to share was £21, will definitely be back.

Having escaped the laptop for an hour we made it through the snow for an impromptu lunch. Both tried the Vietnamese Bahn Mi which was literally the best butty we've ever eaten! We love this place and we love supporting a local just around the corner from us. Can't recommend highly enough.

I cannot speak highly enough of this is little unassuming gem in South Shields. The menu is varied and is changed on a weekly basis and includes something for everyone. Friday and Saturday evenings benefit from an additional specials menu.

Amazing first visit. This is sure to become our regular local. The food was gorgeous, fresh and tasty. Thumbs up all round from a family of foodies and chefs. So thrilled it is just around the corner.

Went here today for a friend's baby shower. Can not speak higher enough of this place. Food is amazing. We had such a warm welclme. Food all fresh even the bread was home made. Will definitely be back.

Had dinner here tonight. The food never ceases to blow me away from takeaways to intimate dinners. Had squid salad to start followed by salmon served on crushed potatoes in a mussel broth. Wow! My wife had cauliflower fitters with a curried mayo dip followed by shoulder of lamb on mash and greens with a fantastic gravy. Mind blowing!! The flourless chocolate cake with homemade cinder toffee and mascarpone cream is as good as it gets. John never ceases to serve fantastic food in a lovely cosy atmosphere. Can't wait go back. Long may it last!

New place in town, small 16 covers, but well what a lovely surprise, food was delicious, we both had mussels starter, huge, probs shouldn't have but it was lush. I had crabcakes with kimchi and fries, dipping sauce, again tasty just couldn't do it justice after the mussels, partner had belly pork best she ever had..I had no room for dessert, but my lady did, white choc and raspberry creme brulee, lovely had to just taste it. Oh and you get to take your own wine...

Small and cosy restaurant in South Shields. The food is of excellent standard. Portions are enormous and not to be complained about. Absolute value for money.

Everything from start to finish was perfect, great food, great value for the level of food, all in all it was amazing, 3 courses with sides for 2 people for £45.

Finally got to pop into this little gem of a place for a late morning breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Done out lovely inside, the two fellas working there were really friendly, and the food was just spot on. Good quality, good value and loads of things on the menu that make you want to come back. Complimentary top ups of our filter coffee was a lovely touch. Felt just like we were in Hampstead or New York.

Outstanding, brilliant food and a really nice, relaxed atmosphere. Well recommend a vist to Wolfmanns, we will definitely be going back. Don't forget to take your bottle if wine, or beer.

Been to Wolfmanns a couple of times since it opened recently. First for breakfast, which was delicious and beautifully cooked, and secondly for a takeaway which was Chinese themed, as their menu changes each week. Generous portions and really reasonably priced. Follow their facebook page to keep up to date on the menu and bring your own booze if eating in their dinner menu. Home made cakes are awesome too. Highly recommend you give it a try.

A fairly new eating house in South Shields, passed a few times and always people in eating, so called in for lunch today, and I wasn't disappointed. Originally went in for take out food, but decided to sit in and enjoy the nice atmosphere and a magazine.
