This quirky coffee shop, themed on Batman's adversary the Penguin, serves great coffee with friendly smile. The coffee is wonderfully rounded without being bitter. The usual range of milk substitutes are on offer if milk is not your thing. Socially distanced seating inside and out with a great menu if toasted sourdough offerings available. A high quality alternative to the restaurant offerings from the Premier Inn just across the road.

The staff was lovely and informative.Huge selection ot games! Music was a smidge too loud, I couldn’t hear my friend over it (she’s a bit quiet to be honest). Big selection of drinks and food. Haven’t had any food here yet so can’t speak about the quality of that yet. Edit after coming few more times: I feel like it might be hit and miss depending on what you order? I had something questionable on my second visit (can’t even remember what, it was almost a year ago), but last few times were quite good. I ordered pakoras and spring rolls most recently, they were very tasty. I definitely plan on coming back (hopefully) often.

I have eaten in many Indian restaurants in India and in the UK and this was one of the worse Indian meals I have ever had. Every single dish tasted of perfume. The poppadoms were tiny portion with little pots of dips, so small. The menu was very small choice also.one small point to note is that when ordering alcohol specify whether you want a single or double as I was automatically given double and I didn’t order it !!!! I could have been driving this is terrible trick. I was very disappointed in the whole experience. Food overpriced and further I would never in a million years have said this was a Michelin restaurant.

Awful food. Inedible. The eggs are microwaved and have no flavour and dreadful texture. When asked, the staff admitted openly to microwaving the food. The bacon is like rubber and disgusting. The staff took no interest and clearly complaints are a regular occurrence. Avoid this place like we avoided those eggs. Save your money and eat somewhere fresh and honest. I don’t know where these positive reviews are coming from..?

We booked a table mid week, a warm welcome from the owner and staff - the owner is the chef and it was lovely to be able to compliment him on his cooking (later). I ordered the Lamb Biryani - it was so fragrant and tasty, a generous portion of lamb, the rice was beautiful, all cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the Butter chicken and thoroughly enjoyed his meal and also the fruit crumble with custard afterwards. (I was too full up for a desert!).! Recommended!

Where do I start? On arriving I was met by big smiles and laughter. The staff are incredibly, friendly, warm and welcoming. The decor is amazing and you don’t feel like you’re in richmond. Then there is the food if you want delicious, authentic Caribbean food look no further!!! The portion sizes are “wham”, there is enough to fill you up and then some. Sooooo happy Original flava has taken over the kitchen!

We went here as a group so we had a food service kind of experience where they would bring us various dishes then remove the plates and bring us the next course. There were no choice in what was put on the table which I didn’t mind. The food though was sadly average. I’ve eaten a lot of Indian food in the UK and in various other countries (other than India) and the flavours of the food were the kind of thing that someone inexperienced with curry making could easily make at home. Seriously. I put my hand to curry making some years back and the main course Dhal (the only vegetarian thing on offer) was small, kind of warm (temperature wise) but not quite. No spice whatsoever and poorly seasoned. I was not on my own with my opinion here. There were starter type dishes out on the table at first. Some breads which may as well have been bought from a supermarket and dressed on to a plate. Some little onion bhaji balls which were small and somewhat dry and tasteless. The rest was meat. Many of the guests were vegetarian, pescatarian or vegan and they knew it but the meat kept coming. I asked if there was anything else for non meat eaters and the chap rushed off and came back a few minutes later with another plate of bhaji balls. Equally well dressed on to a plate and equally dry and tasteless. The main was a lamb dish or the Dhal. All the dishes were in small portion type bowls so you had to get in quick to avoid a teaspoons worth left over after everyone had had their small portion. Small, tasteless and bland. I have no axe to grind with these people. I don’t even live in the same city as them and was there due to work. It’s just they make a big fuss of bringing up the Michelin thing and show you lovely pictures of fantastic looking food that could only taste out of this world right? Hopefully you had a better experience than us. I ate hardly anything and I don’t need much in a sitting. Still cost over £40 a head which silenced the crowd as the lady rushed around us bleeping as many contactless payments as she could before anyone questioned the bill. Positives? One main one. It’s a nice well lit building but deserves much better food considering its looks. The staff are what you’d expect in any curry house. The lady taking the payments felt rushed and devoid of smiles or any sense of pride in the establishment that seems to have a very high opinion of itself. If you want a property curry, go to the east end of London. These people should do at least that well or better but in my experience only managed to achieve a level slightly lower than the most average Indian take away in my city.

Old world pub which is an easy walk from Kew Gardens. Has an amazing beer garden, and in fitting with Kew Gardens has a pretty spectacular flower ensemble to enjoy while eating/drinking

Last night, my partner and I went to Rock and Rose restaurant.(Richmond) The gentleman who welcomed us was very friendly and polite. We started with a Merlot, which was absolutely superb. For the starter, we had the Asian platter, which was incredibly tasty. For the main course, we had the Chicken Milanese and a House Salad. For dessert, we had the chocolate fondant. All the dishes were full of flavour. The gentleman in a suit, whom I believe was the restaurant manager, was very kind and engaging, and he came over for a chat with us. The lady who served us was also very polite. We had a lovely time and will definitely be returning.
