Went to this pub around 21.30 and was fairly quiet but very friendly staff and had a nice chilled vibe. Our only negative was after 1 drink we tried to order another at 22.20 and was told we’re not serving anymore. Was no last orders called prior so left feeling a little disappointed but would definitely return in the future.

We stayed at the premier inn round the corner and although they had a bar, we grew to love The Crown. After rambling London all day we would stop in on our way back to the hotel and have a pink gin and lemonade, and hubby would have a cider. We ate there to! The bangers and mash were superb, the regulars were friendly, and it was nice to meet strangers and become friends. Really a nice local pub.

Parked up five minutes before opening, coming in for a pint, while my father finished up a phone call. The owner came out and stated we needed to purchase a drink to park there. It was empty and there were two remaining parking completely free but I went in and ordered a Diet Coke while my father finished his call before he would come in for his own drink. I was told when making the Diet Coke purchase that if I left the premises he would clamp our car. Within 25 minutes the owner was trying to bully me out of the empty pub, rushing me to finish my drink and very rudely telling me to get out and leave. I informed him I’m a paying customer, he clearly doesn’t need the parking space in this moment, why is he hassling me? He said the other two were “booked up” and he needed ours. Ridiculous. I believe my treatment was racially motivated and I don’t think he would have treated another person this way. As we began to move our car, he came out and took pictures of us. Deeply unpleasant and likely racist owner. We remained in the area for another half an hour at a cafe nearby. The two other spots were not used in that time.

Good pub to stop over and catch up with friends for a drink. Even we have been there on Fridays, it's loud so you can actually chat and unwind after a long day. Rupert the manager is not interested at all. Tried to establish what was going on. Bar staff did not want to serve us at 10 48pm saying they had spread the word that last ordered were 10.45pm! Staff said they needed to go home! Not sure who was in charge staff-or management. Staff and manager not interested at all. We spent over £150 in the 3 hours we were there. Have been coming for over 45 years now but very unhappy with the new staff and manager. Being a business man running companies for 40 years myself and local clubs can honestly say things need to improve here unless you only want gastro customers.

Today is my first time to pop in as I was passing by, im not ashamed and will always said never again, pub looks ok but the old man who was behind the bar is very rude and I think racist because I asked for a cup of tea and a snack he brought me 2 pieces of biscuits on a tissue paper, an old man came in ordered for coffee and biscuits he was offered 4 pieces on a plate. This bar man then gave me wrong change , when I asked him he said wait and brought the balance but with so much disgust on his face, this is a place to avoid, shameful.

And not in a dive-bar charming way but a way that makes you feel like you're ruining his day by being there. On the plus side, there's a very pleasant woman who also tends bar (was there on the 6th August) who is a delight. Super smiley and friendly. So yeah... Hit or miss. Old guy should not be in a customer facing role... Maybe tucked in the back cleaning or cooking would be a better option.

We recently stayed st The Crown as we were going to Ascot for Ladies Day. The hotel is a great place to stay for the location as within walking distance to train station & then approx 30 mins on train to Ascot. On arriving at the hotel, we asked about a train strike as we had heard there was one, the receptionist and a male presumably the manager where not very helpful and said they knew nothing about it to which my friend said, we will Google it, neither of them offered to Google for us! The rooms were lovely and clean with a huge bed which was comfy. Breakfast was a help yourself and was a vhoice of either full and continental which ever you wanted. The evening meals looked lovely but not a good selection for a vegetarian unless you liked cheese! We asked the staff if they had any alternatives and basically was told no. Needless to say, we didn't eat there! Lovely hotel but a shame the staff weren't more helpful.

Stumbled across the crown whilst walking around town looking for somewhere that still served food on a Sunday evening. Venue is beautifully furnished. Menu has a good selection but without being overly complicated. Prices of foid is reasonable and the service was exceptional (even when a mistake was made with the order, the waiter couldn't do enough to sort it out). A diamond in the rough and somewhere I'd I've to call my local, but unfortunatly a 200 mile round trip wouldn't tempt me. The place was heaving but you never waited for more than a few minutes to be served by the young , professional staff who were right on top of everything all night ..such a shock when normally pubs like this have just minimal staff even when they know it’s going to be busy .. the worst for this locally is The Minnow in Weybridge, they never have enough staff , always long waits to be served for drinks and food and hardly ever get the food order right if there’s more than two people !

We became regulars for the week and the staff and actual regulars made us feel very welcome. The beer is good and the new Thai menu is even better. Very unexpected and very delicious! I would even venture to say that the Thai nosh is better than the Brit nosh available. Sadly, we didn't really get friendly with the locals until almost our last night. A mistake on our part that we won't be making in the future. Many of the locals, including the owner, treat women with absolute disrespect, whether visiting the pub or simply walking past. Lager louts shout abuse and sexual comments at everybody walking past. And as I have recently moved close to this pub, I have witnessed this happening to many others at all times during the day and night. Even while ordering food or drinks at the bar, locals are freely able to make upsetting comments across the bar in front of others with no foundation to their comments. Now many residents cross a dangerous road before the lights, just to avoid the harassment. I do not assume the owner will make any changes as he is often seen among the locals laughing and allowing the incidents to continue. I just wish to inform others before you're disappointed. This pub is purely for the local lager louts and any other locals are not welcome.

We visited The Crown with friends last night and were very disappointed. The drinks are astronomically priced, £8 for a glass of wine and a G&T. It also seemed virtually impossible to come away from the bar with a single measure of gin, every time you are asked if you want a large Gin and despite my husband clearly stating he wanted a regular measure the barman still gave him doubles, so I now have a headache and very costly particularly if you are driving as your one drink would put you over the limit! Every round of 4 drinks came to £30 at least, central London prices in a grubby pub in Chertsey.Food was OK, very limited choice of healthy options but the Burgers looked good, portions were quite small but it arrived quickly and was passable, but quite frankly no better than a Wetherspoons. The most annoying thing however was the back door to the smoking area which we were sat near. There was a constant stream of people traipsing past us, which was very loud, distracting and disruptive, plus every time the door opened cold air and smoke came in, so by the time we left we were freezing and also smelt of smoke, something I haven't experienced in a pub for years! The several girls locked in a toilet cubicle doing something a bit dodgy was also a bit interesting! The loos are also filthy and could do with a deep clean. All in all very disappointing and we definitely won't be rushing back.

We have enjoyed eating here in the past but on this occasion it was a definite deux points. When you pay nearly £50 for two small plates of fish and chips and two pints of cider you expect it to be better than the fish and chips at Morrisons. Instead the fish was dry and clearly not restaurant quality while the chips were indifferent at best. If I’d paid £8 in a cafe I would have been disappointed but in a “bistro” pub that pretends to be a Belgian style restaurant it feels like yet another eating establishment that has lost its way.

Absolutely recommend The Wharf. We were there for my sisters 50th birthday Barbara, Debbie & KP were all very accommodating even though it was the festive season menu we could tweak it so my sister felt it was her actual birthday not Christmas! Food was impeccable atmosphere was electric with a DJ which made the party come alive! A huge shout out to KP for being our right hand man making sure our celebrations went off without a hitch. The staff were always at hand making sure we had a great night. The Wharf is an amazing venue for couples families or friends. This is my 2nd big event at The Wharf as we had a big retirement/work do in the summer with a huge buffet accommodating nearly 100 guests. As I said I would highly recommend The Wharf. I recently returned to The Hampton, a place that holds many fond memories from my childhood. Although it has changed its name since my last visit, the essence of the pub remains the same. Walking through the doors felt like stepping back in time, with many of the regulars still enjoying their time there just like years ago. The pub has undergone some fantastic renovations that really enhance its atmosphere. It looks brighter and more inviting, making it a great spot for both families and adults alike. I was impressed by how they’ve created spaces that accommodate everyone, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and comfortable. While I didn't get a chance to try the food during my visit, I noticed a dedicated side of the pub for dining, which looked appealing and well-organized. The menu seemed diverse, catering to various tastes, and I’ve heard positive reviews from others who have dined there. Overall, my experience at The Hampton was delightful, rekindling nostalgic memories while also appreciating the improvements made. I can't wait to return, perhaps with family, to enjoy a meal and soak in the lively atmosphere once more!

Nice place, but food really poor. There must be a mess in the kitchen, as pieces of fish found itself stuck under the vegan garlick bread. Fish and chips - fish soft and soggy.
