Fabuloso restaurante indio con boca - comida deliciosa - tuvimos deliciosas chuletas de cordero anjeer y entrantes de pollo sexy y luego pollo tikka masala, gambas malvani, pollo pistacho y Dahl negro - me está haciendo la boca agua simplemente escribiendo esto!! ¡No puedo depilarme lo suficiente sobre este hermoso lugar!

He comido en muchos restaurantes indios en la India y en el Reino Unido y esta fue una de las peores comidas indias que he tenido. Cada plato sabía a perfume. Los poppadoms eran porciones diminutas con botes pequeños de chapuzones, tan pequeños. El menú era muy pequeña opción también. un pequeño punto a tener en cuenta es que al pedir alcohol especificar si quieres uno individual o doble ya que automáticamente me dieron doble y no lo pedí ! ! ! ! Podría haber conducido esto es un truco terrible. Me decepcionó mucho toda la experiencia. La comida era muy cara y además nunca en un millón de años habría dicho que este era un restaurante Michelin.

Ordené que empezaran los popodoms. Que eran diferentes a lo que normalmente comemos más como papas fritas y grasosas. Compartí un cordero sheik kabab. Mi marido se lo comió. No pude porque estaba demasiado picante, me quemé la garganta. Llamé a la camarera para explicar y ella dijo que sí, el entrante estaba hecho con 3 chiles. Creo que deberían aconsejarle luego ordenar. Chef vino entonces a preguntarme si quería algo más, lo cual decliné. Pedido 2 saag de cordero principal que cuando llegó era diferente en color a lo que esperábamos , verde. ¡No me lo habría comido pero nos moríamos de hambre! Estaba muy tierno, sabroso pero muy diferente a otros lugares que hemos comido. El chef vino después y dijo que estaba molesto porque no me había gustado la comida, pero nos ofreció un postre gratis que era yogur y esponja (caliente) pequeña frambuesa / fresa en la parte superior. Puramente delicioso y de nuevo muy diferente. Bill era 141 libras así que no es barato. Para ser justos, la comida era diferente. ¡Solo ten cuidado de comprobar los niveles de especias!

La comida es la estrella aquí, tan bellamente presentada. Después de un hermoso bahji de cebolla presentado, descubrimos un biryani vegetariano con alcachofas y espárragos. Llegó con un pastel sobre un tureen caliente. Hermosos platos de porcelana con patrones de ginkgo se dieron caliente también. La camarera abrió hábilmente la pastelería y sirvió el arroz perfectamente cocido con una generosa porción de corazones de alcachofa recién cocinados. La pastelería también permitió que los biryani se mantuvieran calientes, lo que significa que la segunda porción era tan deliciosa como la primera. También tuvimos un dal negro que era cremoso y iba bien con el biryani. El cordero Hyderabadi estaba como prometido ligeramente especiado, lo que era importante para mi compañero. El panel que se sirvió a otros huéspedes se veía muy hermoso también. Compartimos un desierto que era un vaso cremoso de frutos secos y fruta. Volveremos.

Visitamos aquí por mi cumpleaños de hija, tuvimos el menú de almuerzo sin fondo. Las opciones eran geniales y la comida era exquisita. Prosecco era fluido y de buena calidad. El servicio fue excelente, atento pero no abrumador.

Great menu. One of the only restaurants with a good range of vegetarian options near to Kew Gardens. Delicious food, delicate flavours and generous portions. Good service with attention to detail and made a lovely birthday dessert for our party. Definitely recommend and will come back to try rest of menu!

Cannot recommend Chatora enough, the food and service are excellent. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious with the Dahl Puri starter being one of the best things I have ever eaten. What a find!

Last night my partner and I enjoyed a delicious 5 course vegetarian tasting menu at Chatora, put together exclusively by Jam who was a pleasure to deal with arranging this special menu for us. We enjoyed plate after plate of beautiful, well dressed and delicious contemporary Indian cuisine. The service was lovely and we even had some delicious cocktails (apple & cardamom belini - must recommend!). The menu spanned poppadoms with sauces, onion bhaji's, samosa's, chickpea curry, fried paneer, curried cauliflower and delicious pani puri. These were followed by a fantastic main course with rice, amazing bread, daal, aubergine curry, potatoes and a delicious rich curry sauce with vegetable pakora. We were well and truly stuffed!! With just enough room to enjoy our final course of Indian rice pudding with lovely coconut ice cream and a chocolate samosa too. We can't say thank you enough to Jam and the others at Chatora for such a wonderful dinner. We were even visited by the chef to check that we had enjoyed the menu. And we very much had. We would return to Chatora without hesitation. Cannot wait to visit again!! 5*****

As a local I had been wanting to try this place for sometime. Whilst the food was reasonable, it was served lukewarm. Service was very slow even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. Staff were quite rude and made no effort to engage. It almost made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Not one smile from any of the staff. Overall there are far better places locally to experience Indian food and hospitality. They need to make more of an effort with their staff training. I will not be back.

I enjoy Indian cuisine. Chatora is located in the most idyllic location of Richmond upon Thames. The built is spread on two floors & has a front verandah. The food, presentation, decor along was sumptuous and beautiful. I along 20 other ladies joined for the dinner at Chatora. The ambiance was welcoming, the staff were hospital, kind & friendly. We had some fun games, Shayari-poetry & singing in between, while those enjoying dancing took to floor. Parking was easy peasy & free after 4:30pm. One should visit, spend evening with loved ones & make the day that very day, a memorable one.

We were a group of 21 females and the ambience plus food was delicious and very friendly staff kept us smiling all along making our dinner experience spectacular.

This is my 3rd time visiting this restaurant and we always have a good experience, I always ordering Dahi Puri my favourite and nan bread, my son had Tiger Prawn, we both loved the starters. Food was incredible across the board. The lamb chops is their signature dish and with good reason. Its honestly just melted in our mouths, the flavours were bold and sumptuous. The lamb rogan josh is one of the best dishes we have ever tasted as well. The service and hospitality were top notch! Staff were lovely and attentive. Early dinner on a busy Saturday night, and what a wonderful innovative curry we had. This is a restaurant that does Indian dishes with a new modern flair , from the beautifully presented starters through to my fabulous birthday dessert, it’s a whole new slant on Indian cuisine. Service was exemplary, and a great atmosphere makes it a firm favourite in Richmond.

Summary: Chatora is nothing more than a glorified curry house (nothing wrong with that but it positions itself as more than that). Completely style over substance - food looks great but taste falls short. If you want evidence it’s a curry house, go to the bathrooms which need sprucing up. Overall the food is overpriced and generally pretty disappointing. The service is shockingly bad. More detail below. Food… everything was over spiced, no balance of flavour at all. Good Indian food should be better balanced. I’m almost certain that some of it was microwaved, which is pretty unacceptable in most people’s book. Bhaji: overspiced hugely, not crispy and not made fresh. Tasted like a ready meal one but with too much spice. Paneer tikka: completely tasteless and no charring even though it was cooked in the tandoor. Sweetcorn relish on top was definitely heated in the microwave(!). Aloo Tikki Chat: good flavour overall and probably the best thing we ate but again over spiced. Pahidi Chicken: three pieces of chicken included. Over spiced again and tasted like the base of any other curry on the menu. Railway saag lamb: lamb was tiny pieces (keep in mind this is £20). This was an ok dish but overpriced and underwhelming. Butter Naan: this was a plain naan. A tiny bit of butter on the top half, nothing on the bottom half. Roti: no butter on this also so was very dry. Rice: I am staggered to say this was microwaved. There is absolutely no denying it. The bowl was red hot and it was steaming. Service… the service was ok in that the food arrived in a timely manner but the waiting staff are very cold and unwelcoming. I walked in and the guy just looked at me. Said my time and he just pointed where to sit without uttering a word.

We booked a table for 5 for a Friday evening. The place was busy! Service was professional but not necessarily warm. We all thought the food was very good, but for the price point we perhaps expected a little more. For example, some of the dishes we had - the crab starter, and the railway curry - while good - were not standout - I’ve had better at other Indian restaurants. All in all - some tasty food, value wise - I’m not sure. But we certainly enjoyed our meal/the evening.

Absolutely superb food! They were able to accommodate us last minute, even though they were packed. The lentils are elite - best I've ever had. We had a lovely time speaking with the owner periodically throughout dinner (as it turned out, we're both big Arsenal fans)! Can't recommend highly enough!

Average food - expected better quality than sweetish curries that they served for the exorbitant pricing they charged. What tipped the scale from a three star to 2 star - lack of general hygiene that’s expected of a high end restaurant like this. Seated in a basement type of area with dirty wall papers , toilets were like those found in Wetherspoons. In general not value for money

There is a reason you have to book a table to get in here, and that is because the food and atmosphere are excellent and it is therefore extremely popular. We had an evening meal here in mid December 2023 and had a wonderful evening. The food was excellent, and the service attentive and professional. The meal we felt was quite expensive, but we don't live in London so assume this is reflective of high quality food in a popular London restaurant. Would definitely recommend Chatora but also recommend booking ahead. Thank you to the staff for a lovely evening.

Excellent little restaurant, great service, the food was exquisite. I had the Railway lamb which just fell apart at the fork, wish I could cook like that. Everything about it was super, and as always, wish it was around the corner from me.

What an amazing find! Just up the road from the station, this restaurant blew away our expectations (which were already quite high based on the reviews). The presentation of the dishes and the combination of flavors made for an amazing meal. The naan was great (rosemary garlic naan) and so was the Pistachio Korma and the meals my other family members ordered. Very, very good. And we spoke to the owner for a few minutes too - nice guy!

Not the greatest arrival for us as the heating was off & it was warmer outside. But once things were amended it improved. A delicious paneer tikka with sweetcorn & basil. Then some super classics given a refreshing twist - CTM & daal were brilliant. Decor is smart but in places needs a bit of proper completion. And staff are good but need polishing in the comms dept. One of the best in the area.

We had corresponded via email with Jam and Chef Sunil and were treated to an AMAZING meal with tons of options despite having multiple dietary restrictions - vegan, no soya, no allium (onion, garlic etc) and no mushrooms. The staff at the restaurant were courteous, prompt and extremely understanding and helpful with our baby.

The best Indian restaurant in London! The food was exceptional. We especially enjoyed the scallops, fish masala, venison biryani and the halwa. The dishes take inspiration from all parts of India and neighbouring regions, producing such unique bold flavours. What I love about their food is that they’re not afraid to use lots of spices and aromatics in every dish 🙌 It is not a surprise that this restaurant is on the Michelin Guide and has been named the top restaurant in Richmond!

Very good Indian restaurant in the residential part of Richmond. I had some excellent prawns and my partner had a delicious sea bass. The service was excellent in particular the hostess Emily who looked after us.
