I thought the communication was very good. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the restaurant even after searching hard.

Great food, Great service and very friendly atmosphere. Very much worth a visit. Had mushrooms to start and veal milanese for main course with a perfect Tiramisu to finish with. Could not fault any of my meal. Definitely recommend.

Dropped in for lunch after a visit to Kew Gardens. Availed ourselves of the 2 course lunch menu. Good choices for this menu. Also selected a half bottle of Italian red. Very pleasant setting outside on patio.

We went on holiday in Richmond/London for 10 days and ended up at Caffe Mamma by chance. It was great and we were there 3 evenings because we liked it so much!!!! Super nice service and delicious food!!

I love this place, and I am a regular customer from 10 years. The atmosphere is amazing. There is no any other place with such an amazing athmosohere. Food what is the most important thing in any restaurant is absolutely delicious and everyone will find something for himself.

We met 6 other friends for a lunch last Sunday. We had lots of things to catch-up with and we needed a relaxing atmosphere, excellent food, good wine and attentive service. Caffe Mamma staff delivered above and beyond in all departments. They were friendly and efficient. We lingered and the pace for food and drink was so accurate. Every guest had a variety of dishes, great ingredients, cooked well and superb presentation. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt we enjoyed excellent service.

After having been a regular customer of Caffe Mamma in its old location many, many years ago - I decided to revisit the restaurant with a friend for lunch in its new location. First impressions - not quite as quirky as I remembered from before but still clean and spacious. The menu had a great selection of many of our favourite Italian dishes to choose from and I opted for the Calamari to start with and the Spaghetti Carbonara for main. To say I was disappointed was an understatement - the Calamari had barely any batter covering it, tasted of re-used oil with little fish flavour - I had to ask my friend to help me eat it as I felt rude leaving it. The Spaghetti Carbona started off okay - although we could see that the quality of the bacon used was poor and predominately 75% fat which had not been anywhere near cooked out. As I ploughed through the pasta the dish was getting fattier and fattier - in the end I had to leave a quarter of it as it rested in pure ‘yellow’ thick oil. We skipped having dessert and coffee.

This restaurant was great. It's quite difficult to find good Italian restaurants in the UK and this is the best one so far. The staff members were Italian, which means authentic and good service. The food was pretty good too. It was under 40pp with shared starter, 1 main each, and desert each. Excellent price for being 4 min away from Kew garden and 5 min away from the Train station. The only downside was how tight the space between tables was, but the front garden was lovely decorated. The female toilets were clean but old, and the door handles were broken but still functional

Excellent as always. Went there for dinner last Saturday. We had calamari and garlic cheese bread and for the mains, seafood linguine and crab and crayfish ravioli from specials, followed by cheese cake and ice cream with fresh fruit. All delicious, very friendly staff and brilliant service. Have been going to caffe Mamma for many years.

What a fabulous little piece of Italy in Richmond I cannot recommend this place highly enough, the ambience is amazing, the food was stunning with HUGE portions, the staff were just top notch and I could go on and on

I love this restaurant, delicious food & very friendly service. We dined outside this afternoon & had a lovely meal. I always order a pasta dish & my mum loves their Seabass. Their Tiramisu is fantastic. Their prices are really reasonable, we will definitely return.

An absolutely amazing meal! The food was stunning! We had the calamari for starter and was a 10/10 we then shared the tuna steak and ribeye steak and WOW. All staff were so lovely and welcome and super quick service!

I had the pleasure of dining at a charming, family-run Italian restaurant in Richmond recently. The spaghetti bolognese was a delightful choice, boasting exceptionally tasty and authentically flavoured cuisine. The noticeable freshness of the ingredients elevated the entire culinary experience, making it thoroughly satisfying. Caffe Mamma is a great place serving simple and lovely Italian food in an atmospheric setting with washing lines and super friendly family staff. Lots of tasty options including pasta, pizza, fresh meat and grilled fish. They also cook delicious calves’ liver two ways ( I love the butter and sage). The butterfly prawns with garlic, butter and rice are fantastic too - but also try the fillet dolcelatte- beautiful with freshly cooked vegetables. I’m a regular and there is loads to choose from and their cocktails and wines are great too. Don’t forget to have some homemade tiramisu or fresh zabaglione. Brilliant fun, great value, and very popular. Ciao!

We took a chance and turned up without a reservation but were seated right away. A great meal in a welcoming, family friendly restaurant at a very reasonable price. Make sure you try their homemade limoncello, it is absolutely delicious.

I have been to Cafe Mamma numerous times over the years with friends, guests and family. On each occasion, the service has been warm and genuine. They're easy to talk to, always happy to help with menu choices and you never feel like you're being rushed to get out. It has and continues to be my first recommendation to anyone that is looking for a cosy, reasonable and atmospheric restaraunt in Richmond. Thank you for a great time as always

Honestly, it was one of the best experiences I've had dining out. Very friendly staff, awesome food and amazing atmosphere (16:00-17:30). Would definitely go back. Toilets are upstairs, but they have a stair lift, so awesome if someone were to need it.

Called around 5:30 on a Saturday, had a table an hour later, the staff are very accommodating, the food great, good portions, we had our granddaughter, nothing was an issue even though they were busy, food great probably the best calzone I have eaten in years, definitely returning again when we are back in Kew.

It is a lovely local Italian restaurant with a strong community vibe, whether it be a celebration, party, or couples dinner. The tables are romantically decorated with a red rose. Of the ceiling are hanging ropes with cloth, I guess giving a family-run Italian feel. We arrive on Wednesday at 6.30 pm, and the place is empty, but by 7.30 pm, all tables are taken. We are celebrating a quiet birthday dinner, and I ordered my favourite, calf liver with sage and as usual, it's delicious. Other dishes are rich in meat, pasta - Bolognese and thin base pizza. There is no gassing about with presentation, but the main focus is on delivering home-like delicious and well-prepared food.

The restaurant is family place, nice food, nice wines, great staff.

We last ate here around ten years ago, vowing never to return, having been served mediocre food with slapdash service. Conceding that things might have improved since then, we were persuaded by friends to join them here for pizzas, last weekend. This proved to be a better experience, with friendly and attentive service (albeit that the locale was quiet). However, the pizzas were disappointing. The uniform shape and size of the pizzas and the texture of the dough betray bought-in, frozen pizza bases. These were garnished with meagre toppings. Disappointed with the pizzas, we declined desert. On a positive note, the house red and blush were nice. Sadly, it’ll be another 10 years before I return - there are just too many better alternatives within walking distance.

We hosted a meal here for 7 yesterday and enjoyed the meal, the starters, mains and desserts were delicious- however when trying to pay, I went to pay the bill and so did my friend, while trying to pay the bill and deciding on who would pay - I was trying to tell the waiter that I would pay in full however my friend kindly asked to split the bill, a rude second waiter came up to us and said to the other waiter while we stood at the till “get these people out, we don’t have time for this”. Is this how customers are suppose to be treated when paying hundreds at your restaurant? The whole experience was ruined, it was the rudest service I have ever experienced, will not be visiting here ever again with my family and friends. Was totally thrown back by the level of service of this waiter when all we were trying to do was to actually pay.

Food v mediocre. Rack of lamb was more fatty than lamb. Pasta bland no life in the sauce. Ambience was quite good. Service was atrocious. Kept on forgetting items e.g. pizza forgotten for one of the children then asking kids to share a pizza as a stop gap, water being forgotten, rosemary sauce for lamb being forgotten...list goes on. Value for money v poor at approx 50/head. Expected better at that price.

This restaurant is in a fairly quiet road near Richmond. It was easy to book, easy to find and the food was good and served efficiently. It was also good value. I will certainly consider returning if I am in the area.

Came into an empty restaurant asking for a table for 4 with a space for a pram. We were greeted by an extremely rude staff. We were given an outside table, but the staff didn’t seem happy to have us at the restaurant and didn’t allow to move a nearby chair so we could Bring the pram closer to us. The waiter started moving our pram with a sleeping baby inside without a permission! He then hit the pram with a chair while moving chairs around. They couldn’t allow us a little extra space as apparently they had other customers coming to that particular table next to us in an hour and a half. We left without having any food or drinks, for an amazing restaurant nearby - Rock & Rose, which we can’t recommend enough. Neither one of us 4 will ever try this restaurant again obviously and we will recommend all our friends and family in the area against visiting caffe mamma. No wonder the place only had one table of 2 occupied.

Very rude personnel. Didn’t accommodate our needs. She moved our baby pram without even asking her. Try other Italian Restaurants in the area.

We were looking for something to eat before the rugby and regards to the reviews we thought it would be good restaurant with nice food ! But not sure who writes the reviews as the food was awful! Not worth a penny! Pizza is definitely not a home made pizza and you can get much much better in Waitrose ! The tomatoes on the bruschetta was definitely old and not a good quality and tasted awful. Very disappointing!

Came here on the off chance on Sunday night. The place was very busy and rightly so! We got a great welcome from this family run restaurant and was able to soak up the buzzing atmosphere. We calamari to share, then seafood risotto and home made crab ravioli washed down with a bottle of vermentino. To finish my Wife had the Tiramisu whilst the chef freshly prepared zabaglione which was pretty good indeed. The bill was £100 including the gratuity, which along with a big hug and photo opportunity from the owners isn't bad. Lots of locals and repeat customers seemed to come and go, which would seem to testify to the quality of experience. When back in the area, we will revisit.

Had dinner here this weekend, it was absolutely delicious! Great portions, a good choice on the menu and the staff are absolutely lovely Will be coming here again!

Having been regular visitors to Caffè Mamma in its previous location many years ago, my friend and I were delighted to be remembered and warmly welcomed. The traditional menu is varied with choices for vegetarians. Everything we ate was superb, and the zabaglione was a delicious blast from our pasts. A well-known Richmond institution that I hope will flourish for many years to come.

Went for lunch 4 years after the last Saracens victory. Still a great place to go with good food at very reasonable prices. Wine was good too as were the staff. The menu is big by modern standards but who cares. The people of Richmond are blessed it looks like they will be there forever! I would award my first 6 star if I could. Nick

This Italian restaurant really does make you feel like you are back in Italy with their authentic staff and food. All the dishes we tried were great including. The calf's liver in particular was divine. My family and I will be returning.

It was Mother’s Day and the restaurant was filled to capacity. There was a lovely ambiance, but the food and service was quite modest. On balance, I would not choose to go there again.

Even though it was extremely busy in the restaurant we didn’t have to wait long for our food to arrive and the staff looked after us very well. It’s a really nice place with a great atmosphere

The staff are so lovely, warm and friendly. Really enjoyed the starter calamari - it was tender and the batter was subtle as to not overpower the calamari. The lasagne was great for a cold night - hearty, arrived so hot and I loved the tomato sauce around the lasagne to add that extra tang. The meatball pasta was a little underwhelming, though.

It’s a family run place and all of them are amazing people… food is good and wines are too.. but above all it’s the people running the show..

From the welcome, through the food, the service in fact everything was really lovely. The Italian gentlemen serving us had an obvious passion for their restaurant and wanting their customers to be 110% happy. As close to being in Italy without the airfare ! A little gem .

Not been here is a long time, but still an incredibly popular, lively local restaurant. We were a party of 9 eating on a Saturday night. I would definitely recommend you book as nearly all the tables were occupied at 7.30. Service was efficient, staff new several members of our party and were friendly and welcoming. We shared a mixture of starters, Calamari Fritti, Funghi Mirele (deep fried mushrooms with garlic butter in breadcrumbs) and Bruchetta. Some of the party had pasta dishes (portions seemed very generous) and the pizza looked good. Also we had Scaloppine al Limone - scallop of veal in butter and lemon sauce, very delicious and again a very generous portion and Halibut in butter and lemon sauce - fish was perhaps a tad overcooked. A very enjoyable evening and will be back.

Been coming to cafe mama since it was at its previous location. They make very yummy drinks. Also perfectly placed near Kew Gardens now, so can be a great day out!

I took my kids on Valentine’s Day to make them feel special. I’ve been to Caffe Mamma’s many times before but hadn’t been for a while. This time was hit and miss for me. I ordered chicken nuggets and chips for my son, but the nuggets were tough. He struggled a little with them, saying they were tough and dry. Our starters were nice. We ordered Calamari and prawns. Both lovely. When it came to main, I usually order pasta, but rather than going for my usual choice, I went for lasagne. I regretted it the moment it arrived. It was just full of tomato sauce. The waitress who took the dish back asked me what was wrong when she saw it wasn’t even barely touched. I told her it’s just drenched in tomato sauce, I could barely find any meat and just got stringy cheese and tomato sauce. I expressed I was disappointed with the dish. They did nothing. In the end, we ordered dessert which was ok. But when I paid the bill for £80, it left me feeling disappointed. I still kept a happy face for the kids but wished I’d booked the Chinese restaurant two doors down instead. I won’t be going back to Caffe Mamma’s after this visit.

The staff and owner were excellent and very welcoming. We came to celebrate a birthday and they went above and beyond and they even put up a birthday sign and decorated the table. The food was also authentic Italian and we can't wait to go back!

As always, a lovely welcome and excellent service. We had the full range of mains: Lamb rack, Calves liver, Halibut - all beautifully cooked. The lads appreciate the good portion size and all our preferences were catered without fuss. House wine is a very good Montepulcano and lots of choice for desserts. We love the Tiramisu. Great to have a local Italian of this quality. Back soon.

This is the worst Italian food I have ever had. Nothing more can be said.

An excellent family experience, where staff were friendly, funny (Jose especially) and very efficient. The meal was prepared amazingly fast esp as it included a steak. Quality of food was top class and the pizza was "the best ever" by our teen children. The medium sirloin was cooked to perfection. An ideal stop before visiting Kew Gardens which is a 10mim walk.
