Excellent food, excellent service, highly recommend

I have visited this restaurant several times before with family and have always enjoyed the experience. I was in London for a family funeral and visited the Restaurant for dinner. The welcome was warm the menu interesting and service excellent I enjoyed the two courses I had and we three shared a bottle of the House wine which was good. On Saturday, the 28th of September three further family members joined making a party of six in all. We were shown to our reserved table in the rear most part of the restaurant a place I hadn't dined in before. Very quickly, this part of the restaurant was crammed with young rugby supporters who communicated with each other at the tops of their voices . The other parts of the restaurant were crammed in the same way. The menu was restricted with nothing like the à la carte menu we had chosen from before. We shared some starters which were adequate but not as good as ha been at the beginning of the week. Our main courses arrived and every meal was at best lukewarm. I had ordered lamb skewers with roast potatoes and a salad. I fear the lamb was mutton and my salad was just a big handful of undressed lettuce and rocket. The roast potatoes were lukewarm and tired. We spoke to our waitress who contacted the manager. We were given fulsome apologies. I was offered a replacement of my meall .but by that time we all felt ready to leave. There was a generous deduction from the bill. I suppose that if we'd known about the rugby match we would've been warned and not visited the restaurant. If you are not a rugby fan, I would suggest before visiting this otherwise good restaurant you should check to see if there is a match on at Twickenham Stadium.

Booked a reservation for dinner at 6:30, staffs were very nice and cheerful! Waited a little for the food but it was worth it! The food was piping hot and delicious. And oh did I mention that the staffs are very funny as well!

Great gluten free pasta and the special pudding was even gluten free cookie dough! I would recommend, friendly and fast service too

Surprisingly good Italian in the heart of Twickenham. The food is authentic and rivals good restaurants in Italy. Genovese Ragu is particularly good. Service is also prompt even when full. One small improvement needed is an upgrade in the wine glasses. When you're paying £15 for a decent glass of wine you should be getting something better than a tumbler from IKEA.

A very nice restaurant serving real italian dishes. The best part of the evening though was the service from our waiter Luca.he gave us great suggestions, his service was on point all evening long and he made us laugh out loud.my wife was literally crying! It was our first visit but it won't be the last. Great job guys,keep it up

We just had dinner at this restaurant for the first time celebrating my daughter’s GCSE results. It’s a really pretty Italian restaurant with really nice and welcoming staff. However the food was a disappointment from start to finish. We ordered the bread and olive oil starter, the bread was hard and dry clearly not fresh (I hope I’m not being fussy but I would expect nothing but fresh bread if not freshly baked). My slow cooked ragu meat should have been cooked at least for another hour or so, as a result the sauce was tasty but the meat a bit hard. For desert we ordered the chocolate fondant which was clearly heated on the microwave, but still cold on the inside. We paid over £100 for 3 people with no alcohol drinks. I would expect higher standard. Shame, really nice restaurant in pretty location.

Had a lovely meal here on a Saturday evening, pizza was excellent along with some very nice wine. Service was outstanding despite being very busy.

Closest I’ve ever felt to being back in Italy. Not only was the menu incredibly well chosen and the wine list extensive, but the food was cooked to perfection. You can taste the love put into it, really well done. But all praise goes to management and the staff. Maria, the manager, gave us a night to remember and really made everything special. All her staff were knowledgeable, polite and charming. This place absolutely smashed it.

I dine at Osteria Pulcinella restaurant frequently, and it offers the best Italian cuisine. The atmosphere is superb and elegantly designed. The waiters are excellent, and Maria is simply exceptional.

The ambience is very nice, reminiscent of a quaint, autumnal cottage. The food was nigh without fault. I had the octopus to start, which was perfectly cooked - practically glistening - and was paired with a lovely helping of hummus. For main course, I ordered the aubergine ravioli which was also incredible, the highlight being the cherry tomato sauce. Finally, the tiramisu was so tasty; the sponge was airy and didn't have too strong of an alcohol taste, and the mascarpone was perfectly creamy and light. The service was great; it was admittedly a tad slow as they were quite busy, but we never had to wait too long for the food, and the staff were really kind. Luca, our server, was very funny and approachably friendly. All in all, a very nice day out!

The experience was fantastic, truly a piece of Italy in London. We ordered a risotto with prawns and pasta ragu, everything was simply incredible. The staff are attentive and make you feel at home. The restaurant is on a pleasant street in Twickenham, close to the River Thames. We'll definitely be back!

Food was good. I had arancini to start, perfectly cooked, crispy outside, soft melted cheese embedded in rice, yummy. Second course pizza Diavola, good but not special, could have been spicier. Food was let down by the service. I guess like so many other places they are suffering staff shortages. Took for ever to take order and then food was slow to arrive. We were late for a concert and had take away half eaten meals. The noise levels were above my threshold, which admittedly is low. Conclusion go for the food but allow plenty of time.

I used to live in Twickenham a couple of years ago and I used to love Osteria Pulcinella. It was my favourite restaurant in Twickenham and the carbonara was just like you were having it in Rome. However, last visit (4 May 2024) the service was only average and the food, well… the same. The carbonara also seemed to have been made with cream. Such a disappointment…

Starting this review by saying I'm not a foodie. I'm all about atmosphere, service, nice cocktails and wine. And on this the restaurant is absolutely brilliant. It's a lovely little local Italian with quaint decor, a homely friendly feel and we had a lovely waitress, (With fab nails!) And they kindly squeezed us in on a busy Saturday night, And even gave us a really nice table by a window. In addition, the foccacia that we had for starter was the nicest that I've ever tasted - It had like a cake like quality to it. Also, I'm not a balsamic vinegar person and I always think that people spoil the lovely olive oil by putting that stuff in. Not here - they single handedly made me realise why people eat this stuff : their's tasted way better than any I've had before. Friend enjoyed all of his main course, Which I think was some chicken thing. If I had to leave my review based solely on my main course, I would have to leave it much lower. I've lived in New York for a year & always travel to the states, so I'm used to the American pizza way, not the way It's traditionally supposed to be done. So essentially, I may be a complete philistine 😂But to me my pizza was underbaked And largely inedible. If you can imagine those tubes of tomato puree that you get in the supermarket - It was just this squeezed onto a base, With no cheese and it didn't feel cooked properly. I thought tomato was meant to be runny on a pizza. This may Also be because nowadays vegetarians are a dying breed and people don't understand what we are. You say to a restaurant you are vegetarian and they give you a vegan meal and assume you don't eat cheese or any dairy or egg. It may well be that the vegetarian pizza there has no cheese on it, And that could be why. But even then it was underbaked and just tasted like puree on bread. So I don't know whether I had a bad day with a chef - Or whether that's how they do things here? Because the reviews about the pizzas on here are amazing. I usually go to pizza portofino in Richmond by Robert Dias. Zavi The pizza chef there, trained in Italy and his pizzas are Not like this. Anyway I'm way too English to leave a review lower than this because at the end of the day I appreciate the atmosphere and the service on the starter, Plus my date liked his food. I Only live around the corner , So because of everything else that was great , I will be back to try the ravioli. Fabulous Italian restaurant in the heart of Twickenham village. Brilliant atmosphere and really top quality food. Try the spinach and sea bass risotto- absolutely amazing. Lamb skewers and nduja pasta were fab too! Very good wine selection and dessert menu Great value. £100 per couple for 2 course, wine and coffee and brandys! Defo a must visit but booked if coming from an event at Twickenham as we did as gets very busy!!

Service was not good at all bordering on rude when entering the restaurant Same type of attitude when pointing out How Bad the pizza was The Pig pizza that was ordered was awful. The ham (If it was ham ) was terrible and tasted really bad. Definitely won't be returning. Nothing positive to report about our visit

I never regret booking dinner at Osteria. The food is simply wonderful and the team are always incredibly friendly and attentive. Have been eating here for 10+ years and will hopefully be coming for another 10! If you’re looking for really good quality, delicious food, attentive service and a cosy environment then this is the place to book.

Best Italian in Twickenham, been going for years!

This restaurant serves the best Italian food, always delicious and authentic, cooked with love. The staff are welcoming, charming and attentive. I would recommend booking in advance as it’s healthily busy but they will always do their best to squeeze you in - totally worth a few minutes wait. My family & I have been coming here for 20 years and I recently celebrated my 50th birthday there with a large family group - Grezielle and her team were so accommodating; my vegetarian and vegan guests were bowled over by the menu and everything else (especially the wine!) was amazing! You will leave here with a full belly and a big smile on your face.

Good buzzy atmosphere, good food and wine cz good service not intrusive and a view of Church Street, now pedestrian only, a parade of people and pooches going up and down window shopping. Lovely way to have a relaxing lunch.

Lovely Italian restaurant and reasonably priced. Had the chicken penne pasta and coconut crème brulé, both were absolutely delicious.

The place is beautiful with a cosy atmosphere. The service welcoming since the very first contact. A menu with the right amount of options. I had arancinis de ossobuco (delicious) and TONNARELLI AI FRUTTI DI MAR (spectacular!). Be careful cause these tonarellies are quite hot (spicy), which I love, but, just in case. Some bread may be added as a courtesy (nothing expensive but a kind detail). In general, a lovely experience. Thanks for the kind and caring service.

Wow ! Saturday night in Pulcinella on a hot September night was like being in Italy. The whole of Church Street was buzzing with tables full all down the street. The food was wonderful, made even better by the attentive, friendly staff. Despite being very busy the service was quick, efficient, helpful and clearly on a mission to please and make the evening special. A must visit !!!

Lunch today for two people, table on the terrace. Smiling and efficient service. I particularly liked the Penne Pulcinella, a real treat, it's Italian cuisine like you find in good places in Italy. A rare and pleasant detail, the Parmesan grated “gratuggia” in front of the customer. A big thank you to the artist of Penne Pulcinella and to the person who served us.

Delicious pasta! Had pappardelle ai funghi and was delicious. The portions are great for its price and it filled me up. 100% would recommend this place to anyone. And I am going again on next Monday for lunch.

A lovely, authentic Italian, family run restaurant in a lively social area. So nice to have tasty freshly made pizza.

Food is well proportioned and very good quality. The ambience is casual and relaxed. Outside seating available in a lovely closed road with many cafes resturants and small interesting shops. Perfect for an evening with friends. Definitely worth a visit.

Arrived without a booking but, although busy, we were given a table inside. A very friendly greeting and efficient service. A good variety on the menu and the food arrived in good time. Take a stroll around Twickenham riverside. Google search for a food and we found an Italian restaurant - Osteria Pulcinella . It was a foods fair event during the weekend, therefore very crowded. Hints: ■Porchetta pork belly is good! ■Outdoor seating available. ■Toilet is clean. ■Dog preferably outdoors.

The atmosphere outside was great on a summer evening (Church St is ace!) and we managed to get a walk-in table on a busy Saturday afternoon. The food was really disappointing - the mixed seafood friturri were essentially just calamari with one shell-on prawn and a couple of parsnip crisps...sadly the calamari were overcooked. The clam linguine dish was really bland. Shame as the staff were very nice and location is fantastic.

Sat outside as the weather was lovely, so it was very busy. There are other restaurants nearby but they were not as busy as Osteria Pulcinella. Staff and Service was very good and the food lovely. All very tasty and plentiful. Well worth a visit.

Second visit here, buzzing atmosphere in a lovely location. The food was very good & the service was pretty good too despite them being busy which is always good to see. Our issue was what we thought a misunderstanding but not in the waitresses eyes! We asked for no squid in a particular dish, the waitress suggested extra prawns. Sounded ideal & rightly or wrongly we assumed these would simply replace the ‘no squid’. Wrong! We were charged which we queried. But instead of her explaining & agreeing with us when we suggested it was a misunderstanding, she loudly disagreed saying we were wrong at which point we offered our card to pay but still she went on….. loudly. The customer isn’t always right but the customer should be treated politely. We’ll not be returning but I guess this particular waitress will be pleased as she’s always right obviously!!!

I was fortunate enough to win a free meal at Osteria Pucinella and my husband and I went for lunch on Friday afternoon. We have lived in Twickenham for over a decade and have no idea why we have never eaten here before! It was a sunny afternoon so we sat outside on the lovely cobbled and pedestrianised Church Street. We were so well looked after and enjoyed a delicious meal (and wine!) and excellent service. My husband particularly enjoyed the seafood linguine and my pizza was delicious and so large I ended up taking some home. We will most definitely be back.

Amazing service from the moment you walk through the door. Plenty of choice on the menu, despite my many food intolerances and the chicken I decided upon was excellent. Thoroughly recommended 👌

My wife and I had the opportunity to go back to this wonderful place to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We had not been since those days and wow what a fabulous experience we had! From the moment we were greeted by Maria, to the wonderful food (authentic), I had Veal that was amazing! The whole service was impeccable, Maria is an asset to the restaurant…I even got a Caffe Coretto served how it should be served! Brilliant, can’t recommend enough, great location too!

We came here for a joint 30th birthday meal and it was amazing! There were a large group of us (25) and we came after being at the rugby at Twickenham Stadium all day, so were fairly lively! The team were amazing - everyone was so friendly and they made sure we were looked after so well. As it was a large group, we had agreed on a specific menu and pre-ordered in advance, which made life so easy! The food was amazing and high quality, with perfect size portions as well! We are already planning on coming back to do the same thing next year because it was so good!
