Sainsbury's in Richmond upon Thames

Easy to park, good range of basics and nicer things. Convenient above all. I've been away for four weeks and returned to find they have moved the store layout around significantly. This is SO annoying! I know why they do it - to force you to go round the entire store rather than avoiding the rubbish like sweets and so on - but it really pisses me off!!

North Sheen Sainsbury’s very good all boxes ticked. Great produce looks like the turn over is quick so always fresh. Friendly staff & a vast choice of popular & obscure brands. I started shopping here even though Waitrose is much nearer actually 5 mins walk & Sainsbury is a train journey no comparison with produce and certainly not attitude of staff.

Really useful supermarket with wide selection and my local but they keep rearranging the shelves which is very confusing.

Staff on self service wouldn’t sell me a drink because I looked under 16. I had my car keys in hand and it was 1pm in the working day. I’m 31 years old. Instead of apologising that she cannot serve me the girl on self service called over her colleague who said she would put the drink through personally but it was between us. But instead the girl decided to snatch the drink from my basket and say ‘you will have to buy from elsewhere then won’t you?’ And ran off to carry on with her day. Not sure if this is how anyone should speak to customers? Needs to be taken off a customer service role and reconsider her attitude. She has received a complaint at head office for her attitude.

As far as large mid range supermarkets go this is a pretty well stocked, decent branch. There’s a definite lack of premium products particularly on the fruit and vegetable side. However you’ll get good deals on household items such as kitchen rolls, loo rolls and mineral water. Their bakery is superior to the premium Waitrose which is definitely on the slide.

Seems some of the staff have been "pulled-up" for interacting with customers ! This is a shame, as with a world of competitive pricing between companies you look for a differentiating factor. The friendliness and helpfulness of some of the staff at this branch certainly is that difference and a reason to come here and not a competitor. If the aim is to take away that 30 second chat (whilst they are still working, I might add) then it becomes "any other shop" and as any other shop I may as well be in, "any other shop". Good place to shop. Good produce and a good variety of goods. Decent sized store, with a reasonable number of parking spaces. Staff is usually helpful. 👍

Very bare but it's having works done,

It's Sainsburys. It does it's job perfectly well, but the last few times, I've had to deal with people trying to sign me up for charitable donations on the way in. I'm not tight, I give to charity regularly by direct debit but I really don't want to deal with this when I'm picking up a few bits on the way home from work. I'm just too shy and British for it! 🥴

The click and collect process is a disaster - only one person manning the collection point. Long queue of cars . Would’ve been quicker just going in and picking up groceries myself. Will stick to Tesco collections

This is the cheapest fuel on the A316 leading in and out of London.

Largest supermarket in the area. Easy parking and close to bus routes. Only a few manned tills which is the principal disadvantage.

This is a one star review for sushi gourmet and to saynsburys for hosting them. They sell stale day old sushi at high prices. This is not gourmet, this is crap sushi. It’s utterly infuriating I bought one and then I realised it was packed the day before all cold with a rock hard rice. No wonder they never discount it, they sell you crap sushi all the time. Avoid at all costs sushi gourmet

Fantastic selection of Gluten Free

A big Sainsbury’s with good stock though they do often run out of cheap eggs at the end of the day. Only niggle is they still require a £1 coin to unlock their trolleys; who carries coins these days?

Well done to all the staff on Saturday 21st December. They could not have been more helpful on such a busy day.

Not a very super store tonight. Where was everyone? Only one check-out open so had to take my full trolley to the self check-out. Almost every item produced the same red exclamation mark and required assistance. But no-one was around. I found one young guy replacing handsets in a rack and he said he'd be along. Of course he then stopped off at the all the other customers on the way whose machines were also playing up. Ours needed fixing after every other purchase so he had to hang around (and this was a big shop - not really suited to the self-check-out system). I asked where all the staff had gone or where the manager was - he didn't know. Finally a very helpful and cheery colleague (Khalid) came and helped us get the whole lot processed. But what a palaver. This is my nearest big Sainsbury's and I'm a Nectar card-carrying regular but tonight's experience really put me off the place. More help, please.

Great place to shop for Food, Clothes and Electrical items. They have just installed super Fast chargers for Electric Vehicles, but to use them, you have to register and pay a £30 deposit before you can charge your car.

Just popped in for a fee bits for our daughter. Pleased to say we what she needed, including Koko coconut milk, which is hard to find in other leading stores. Somehow, this store has a very nice laid-back atmosphere compared to my local Sainsbury's in Southampton. Which really is a good thing in these stressful times.

Great value convenient supermarket

Generally I’m happy with Sainsbury’s. However, on this day I noticed most of the plants they were selling were neglected. I asked if they would be willing to drop the price for this to which they advised they wouldn’t reduce the prices. If any plants do not sell, they would be disposed of. Corporations would rather waste food/goods than reduce costs to make them more affordable due to corporate greed.

It's a nice big store. Roomy with a good range of goods. But despite it's size the car park is always packed with cars, sometimes not always making it through easiest place to find parking spots. Inside the store though, it never feels overly full, just busy.

We go every Friday. There is always a lot of fresh food at reasonable prices.

Worst toilets in west London. Proper biohazard. Staff and management don't care. It's frankly shocking that they are allowed a license to sell food with toilets like these. Beware.

Good Supermarket. You can get everything here. Easy parking, and good to if your using public transport. A big store. Argos inside. Not as cheap as they try hard to make you believe.

Sainsbury now only offers charging for EVs but not for PHEV hybrids. Disappointing

I always find Sainsbury Manor Road Richmond, is clean, tidy, with helpful staff, must be one of their top stores. The staff are polite, but I think we sometimes forget they are human, having to sit there for at least 8 hours, they will say hi if you say hello, just they have been welcoming all visitors all day and do get tired and thirsty, same for all their staff standing on their feet all day, say hi 👋 does not hurt.

Inadequate staff and disgusting customer service. After placing a click and collect order and going to the store, they did not bring out £30 worth of my order. I realised when I got home, and called the store. The colleague on the phone blamed us for not noticing missing items at the time, despite that it was a large order. They also refused to compensate by delivering these items, and said I would have to go back to the store. At the store, I asked to speak the manager. The manager who came out did not apologise, and instead said “I thought you had something to say”. Disgusting! She clearly didn’t care, she checked her phone multiple times during the conversation and also walked off to speak to another customer. Interestingly, since this incident, I have now been unable to access my online sainsburys account at all. Head office have confirmed to me it appears the account has been suspended, probably by the incompetent manager, and are investigating it.

A very nice large grocery store, much like an American grocery store. The store was very clean and well organised. They carry a wide variety of goods and have a very nice beer and wine selection, including a good variety of craft beers. Reasonable prices and plenty of parking.

Their SmartShop app is at best useless as is this store’s management. Mediocre produce at high prices with terrible staff.

Large Sainsburys and Argos in store plus petrol station and fairly large recycling point as well. Homebase has now gone as of 2023 Sainsburys has good car park and there is a hand car wash as well. Collection point for shopping done on line. More or less one stop shop.

This is the best sainsbury's branch I've visited, it is so spacious and comfortable to use, also the easiest to find parking close to the exit, The staff are very helpful and friendly. I wasn't sure where to find some items, I had some of the staff members walking with me to show me where everything I needed is. Great experience.

Being open at later hours is very useful.

Not very happy as I was finishing my food shop I could hear a dog barking and misbehaving in the store which I suppose is against store policy as it wasn’t a service or guide dog and I mentioned it to security ( GILL ) as I left the store and his response to me was the man which is the owner of the dog has been coming there for ages and I explained to him why is there another dog waiting at the front entrance tied up being very well behaved One rule goes for all customers . I’ve tried to enter the same store with my dog and got refused entry so I just wonder what’s the policy seems like your staff pick and choose when then want to go by the store policy .

Picked up an order. Need food by weight, was given substitute by item. So weight was way off. Manager lied, and she also couldn't read properly and gave me one item less than I ordered. Also refused to give me the copy she had. Which was convenient for her. The guy who I originally dealt with was a sweetie. She needs to check before being difficult. Am getting refund for the item but why should I waste my time because she is incompetent

Great store. Large and well stocked. The only downfall is that the drive-through car wash has been closed for months! Apparently, there is no electricity! Sort it out, @sainsburys, please? My car is filthy! Too busy (and lazy) to go elsewhere :)

I have had problems with the fruit and vegetables here not being fresh. Have never had that problem with Waitrose, who also offer a scan it yourself system.. And free coffee! Update 30.7.24. You can now scan items yourself. I've not had any bad fruit/veg recently. Nectar prices very fair.

Great bariety has everything and ev charging

In my opinion, this is the best local grocery store in Richmond.

Is it just me.... At the time I go ie midweek, mid morning.... There's rows and rows of electric charging points and disabled bays empty. Specifically went to this branch for the clothing range... and came out with nothing! The choice of food very limited, giant family size packs everywhere, but few smaller quantities, huge selection of green bananas. And the smart shop gadgets checkout bay was completely dead!

Don’t buy flowers here if you want them to last more than a day or two. We spend a lot of money as a family here and have done for years but when I presented a receipt an and timestamped photo of roses that died very soon after purchase, the customer service rep said the manager refused to refund. Charming.

Generally a nice big but quiet Sainsbury's with free parking. Pity their free from range is get more lack lustre as time goes on.

There cannot be a product you are looking for and cannot find here. Market shelves are tidy. Easy to find products. With Smart Shop, you can scan the products yourself and pay at the end of shopping without a cashier. You can usually complete your shopping easily without waiting in line. There is a halal meat section. The parking lot is large and there is a car charging station.

Very large sainsburys store, clean, plenty of parking too.

Sainsbury's is very clean supermarket and well organised. I love to scroll around from clothes to the end corner which isbthw frozen stuffs. There is small Argos too. I was sad that after pandemic the fresh section of different ham has been closed only left a small corner for most chicken and pizza. However this is my fave shop.

Big and well stocked. Seems to attract homeless people who ambush you at the entrance from their sleeping bags.

Today the day was well organized.

Nothing special but a good place to refuel when headed for the M3. Usually the fuel is competitively priced. The store itself is large and wellstocked

Just wanted to mention my experience in this store in Richmond last week. I was in a bit of a rush and running late when I popped in to sainsbury and couldn't find what I was looking for when a young chap called Ronnie, [ I think last name was oliver but can't be certain sorry ,] who was working there on this particular day , he saw I was looking stressed and offered to help. I accepted his olive branch and he then spent the next 10,,,15 minutes, helping me to which I was able to make my appointment on time , thank you Ronnie your time was really appreciated and all the best , 👍🏼

My maiden visit experience was wonderful. 10 minutes walk & 30 minutes shopping & a drink makes my day. It covers the entire range of global needs. I am happy with my favourite shop.

I really rather like this branch of Sainsbury's, but their plant care leaves something to be desired.

Roadworks and problems caused by tfl make this store virtually impossible to practically use

No staff on tills and a load of self service tills that always have issues and generally only one memeber of staff to help between them all. Food prices gone up, but jobs cut and money saved by using auto tills. They don't serve us anymore we serve them. H.O need a kick up the backside.

Reasonable. The staff look like they would rather be elsewhere though.

I visited Sainsburys Richmond this morning at 0800. Many of the shelves are bare, for example absolutely no avocados, and employees generally unfriendly and unhelpful. Additionally prices unless they're on Nectar offers, are quite high.

Lovely store with huge parking. Very clean and tidy store with great customer service.

Shame the managers forgot to charge the disabled buggys, tut tut. Mostly Good friendly staff.

This Sainsbury's at Manor Road in Kew consistently had the cheapest petrol around, not worth driving specially here, but worth it to stop if you're passing

This is a sainsbury with a petrol station out front. Accessible via two streets. Has a car wash some days. Inside there are various mini stores and outlets that are constantly changing. They have a sushi bar though for sure. This is a large store overall and has everything a large supermarket one would expect.

Great choice of everything you need. Also tried my new nectar card to check out savings-it works.
