We attended this venue during a mid-week afternoon and evening. I was initially disappointed, for a Fullers establishment, to see only 2 hand-pumps in operation, both of which were serving London Pride. Fortunately, the Prude was excellent and remained so throughout our stay. The venue was quiet during the afternoon but became busy in the evening as a younger crowd turned up. The background music fortunately remained unobtrusive.
I did notice that our group appeared to be the only ones drinking the real ale and asked a member of staff passing by (who I assume to be Luigi) to pass on my compliments to the cellarman. He replied that he was the cellarman and quite self deprecatingly made a comment about keeping the lines clean, which was enough for this CAMRA member to conclude that the real ale being of good quality was likely to be the norm.
As the beer quality was so good, we decided to stay, and eat. A wide range of Pizza was on offer, and represented very good value for money, especially for central London. The waiting time was not as long as I had expected, although my calzone arrived a few minutes after the others at our table. It was, however, the best I have ever tasted, and Luigi brought me over a complimentary ½pint of Pride as an apology for the delay. There was also a large range of ‘special’ pizzas available to suit those with special dietary requirements.
What a lovely lovely day. We were here for my son's wedding.
Well done to the staff, what an incredible day it was, so many people approached me and said that it was the best, ceremony and venue that they have been to.
Your staff worked incredibly hard.
They food was outstanding, as we're the many many different drinks.
You all helped to make a special day memorable.
For that we are extremely thankful to you. all. Well done again
Discovered this Korean tea shop while I was at Exmouth market.
Overall, it was a nice place to relax and have some teas.
Tried the Early Sparrow and got a dysfunctional tea pot because the staff took out the strainer which means you can't put the lid back on and the tea goes cold very quickly.
Also tried the sparkling malcha (green tea) which was basically green tea mixed with Harrogate sparkling water which wasn't quite worth it.
I’ll start by saying that the service was good & staff were really nice. However after eating here I started to develop, chills, stomach cramps vomiting and diarrhoea. I am currently suffering with food poisoning. I came here with my date who is experiencing the exact same symptoms. At first I thought that we were just unlucky however I have seen some other reviews which have said the same which leads me to question the cleanliness of this branch. Very disappointing !
The staff now are very officious. The manner by which we were ejected was offensive. We used to love this pub but the current staff were offended when we “were not standing” to show our willingness to leave even after us explaining we were waiting one of our party to return from the toilet. An otherwise charming venue spoilt by staff who were unnecessarily rude. We won’t return there anytime soon.
Completely dead despite it being a busy night out. Menu prices are only visible if you hold the page at a certain angle that catches the light - maybe that's why it was an £80+ meal for one?? Food completely underwhelming- starter calamari (three rings) rubbery and a dip that was way too glutinous....for nine quid!! Main course steak served on a cold plate - tasteless and uninspiring. Blue cheese sauce like nothing blue cheese related that I've seen before...I think it's out of an Aldi squeezy bottle of 'blue cheese sauce'. Also really glutinous and unappetising. Wine was mediocre, cocktail was meh, service good but felt like they wanted me out asap. No surprise it was so devoid of customers.
Expert attentive staff zhat know what they are doing. Had the celeriac which was nice, but crying out for some watercress to top it off. Indulgen banana split.
