The best restaurants in Handside Welwyn Hatfield East of England

Easily my favourite restaurant in Welwyn Garden. It's always busy but I rarely have to wait long for a table. It's just as good for coffee & cake as it is for a full evening meal. Love it!

Lovely place, visited with family. Had lunch deal which worked well, as there was a good choice. Ample portions, although for me, I would have rather had less meat and more veg, which is personal choice rather than criticism. Gluten free options available. Clean toilets. Town centre location. Parking reasonable close by. Would visit again

Lovely food and very quick service!! People were very kind and the food was delicious ! Would definitely recommend for anyone who would fancy a morning breakfast, a nutritional lunch or a delicious dinner. Would 100% recommend.

Brilliant food the best curry I've ever had.

This van has been in WGC for decades and never disappoints - fresh ingredients and really friendly staff. I used to think kebabs were for closing time but I haven't had a drink in over 11 years and I still go here regularly! Quick service, generous portions, reasonable prices...and the the chilli sauce is awesome! A cut above the rest.

My husband and I went here, we were walking around the town deciding where to eat. I peeked in the door and it had a nice looking bar so we went in. No reservation although we were seated right away. We were seated under a speaker although it didn’t seem to bother me till later on. My husband ordered a manhattan and I ordered a drink called a tequila fizz. They made his drink special, it wasn’t on the cocktail menu. His drink he thought had a special cherry in it, the kind normally used in manhattans, this was a blueberry. My tequila fizz was nothing special. I do seek out cocktails with flavors that I tend to like. Definitely not one of my favorites, I found it to be just ok. We were not that hungry, we ordered a goat cheese salad and the mushroom and asparagus risotto. I am not sure if she didn’t here me but we wanted our salad first and then our meal but they came to the table at the same time. The salad was absolutely delicious, especially with the fried cheese. It was enough for a single person to have as a dinner if you ask me. I would order it again. The risotto was good, in fact very good but tasted like it was just missing a little something. I would also order that again. I thought the food was good overall, service was good and I would recommend this place.

A hidden gem! - We came across Sala Thai Kitchen after visiting the Cathedral around the corner. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating even though it was mid afternoon & unexpected. Really lovely food, (although I wasn’t expecting the massaman fish to be in breadcrumbs). Definitely recommend trying this new restaurant.

I’m incredibly disappointed. This used to be our favourite spot for fresh sushi, but it’s gone completely downhill. Lately, every time we give it another chance, the quality worsens. It’s honestly become revolting—they’re using fish scraps in the rolls, especially the ones covered with toppings like dried onion or seaweed, so you can’t see what’s inside. Some of the salmon is impossible to chew, and we’ve ended up throwing most of it away. I hope this review is taken seriously, as others I know have also stopped buying here for the same reason.

Saw skate on the menu and haven't had it for a few years. Was lovely and fresh, a decent portion with nice chips served very hot and was salivating waiting for it to cool down a bit before eating.

Lovely food, service and premises. Clean loo and friendly staff. No brainer.
