Recently ive been going to giggling and today I went and I booked for 10:00pm which you shouldn’t be able too if they will make you feel so uninvited and then tell you the shop closes at 10:30 but on the booking system it says to leave table at 11:45pm. I’ve come here so many time but I’m really disappointed, it felt so unwelcoming.

It’s a lovely restaurant. I love the starters , cocktails and Thai food. Unfortunately today my meal wasn’t great. Too much fat and make me feel sick. Other than that everything was fine.

I recently visited this restaurant and was very pleased with the experience. The establishment offers a pleasant ambiance and the food was delightful. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the visit even more enjoyable. The roti, in particular, was outstanding.

I ordered the chicken massamun which was delicious. My son ordered the chicken pad thai. Both dishes were served within 10 minutes of ordering them. My sons chicken pad thai was clearly reheated in the microwave and was cold in the middle. Bearing in mind that this is chicken we are talking about. This is absolutely unacceptable. We sent the dish back. Fresh meals don't appear within ten minutes. Be aware.

On this occasion the food was average and the portions were much smaller than usual. Also check your bill before paying, we only had 2 lime cordials and not 3 and noticed once home. It’s a big open restaurant, so the heating could do with turning up a few degrees. 🥶

Our waitress, Leila, was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and enhancing our dining experience. Overall, Giggling Squid is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking delicious Thai cuisine in a welcoming environment. I think the only thing that could be improved on was the portion size of the prawn crackers.

We've been as a family many times. Service is friendly. The atmosphere is nice. Food is delicious. We really enjoy it.

Had good pecan stir fry today with the family. Staff were very helpful as 2 of us had walking difficulties.

I booked table for 9 people on my birthday for an evening meal after Christmas break. We had lovely table waiting for us in a nice, private nook of the restaurant. Food is absolutely amazing, everyone enjoyed their meal, on a typical thai spicy side. We had a welcome greeting on arrival. Our waiter Jack was attentive when needed and paid attention to details. Fantastic service. Also manager was a good host and made sure we were happy. We can't wait to go back as food was superb, fresh and flavoursome.

Lovely food that was beautifully presented. We were disappointed by the service due to the over half an hour wait for dessert and the waitress being very busy so forgetting many of the things we asked for.

We turned up at the Giggling Squid very late in the evening, a large party without a reservation. We'd already been turned down at another city centre restaurant nearby (which I won't name because we love them too). Our hopes were dwindling, and we were thinking we might have to go home hungry after all. But we were welcomed with open arms, and we had one of the best Thai meals I've had in ages. The menu is vast and everything we had was delicious. I can recommend the street food sharing platter - amazing range of flavours and textures - and the pork hock with roti, which was tender meat and perfectly cooked pak choi, with plenty of roti bread to mop up the rich and heavenly sauce. My wife had the pad thai, which she also enjoyed very much, and the rest of our party had nothing but praise for the veggie options. Just as important as the food though, or maybe even more so, the service was nothing short of excellent. All our servers were incredibly kind and attentive throughout. This restaurant has a truly lovely atmosphere, and that's all down to the people. They're awesome, and we'll be back very soon.

I tried the online ordering system and it worked out great. Food was ready in 15 mins and pick up was seamless. I appreciated that everyone in the kitchen is actually Thai as I spoke to them when waiting for the food. A good mark of excellent Asian food is that it remains high quality even after takeout. I will attest that Giggling Squid’s food falls within this category. I got the pad Thai, squid bits, and chicken stay — each of which refined their freshness and flavor well despite ordering all of them to go! Recommended for some good Thai in Welwyn!

Service was amazing. I loved the chicken satay and the trech lech cake. Aesthetics is beautiful. Location is in good place, lots of parking available.

This was a great place to eat. The food was excellent, I recommend the lamb shank, and the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Myself and my colleagues will definitely be back.

The worst food ever!! I have ordered mushrooms in batter. I literally had to look for the mushrooms in it. It was just batter, filthy dirty!! Prawns are v bad quality. And red and green curry was awful! They produce food somewhere and distribute to their all restaurants. I will never ever go there again. For me it’s zero star not even one!!!

Giggling squid never dissapoints. The food is chefs kiss. I love it and all staff are so lovely, they always care about customer service. Basil is so kind and always makes sure we are well looked after every single time and he genuinely cares to talk to us and ask us questions and make sure we are welcomed.

Lovely restaurant. The food was excellent, staff very friendly and attentive. Decor was very pretty and welcoming. I was a tiny bit worried that when booking you have to agree to give the table back after 1.5 hrs, would suggest removing that. But that didn’t happen and we had a very leisurely meal. Will definitely return.

About £18 a main, £8 desserts. However, extensive menu choices and lunch Tapas menu ( from £14:50 for 4 tasters - I added an extra too @£4.70) that lets you try a mix of dishes. The positives were many. Beautiful decor, music and lighting just right, lovely lunchtime atmosphere. Clean well looked after Restaurant. Food was delivered quickly as a quiet Monday lunch. Amazing flavours, hot and delicious. Very happy with my food. The standout goes to the colleague who looked after me, Seren. Stand out service, all the right boxes ticked for the perfect customer journey, but with actual personality, warmth and genuine care. Not robotic but just kind and made my visit perfect. Had a lovely meal to celebrate a colleagues retirement. We were a large group but the service was slick and efficient. Food was tasty and affordable. The staff were all great but special mention to Basile who couldn’t do enough for us. I would recommend

Tastey meal. Masaman chicken curry is good flavour. Rice noodles bit bland. Chicken satay okay. Duck spring roll okay. Papaya salad okay. Morning glory is nice.

Hello . I ordered food via deliveroo today. The pad Thai was mediocre, no flavour, the noodles were not fresh. The mushroom dish was unappealing and dried, no flavour. I was disappointed because I have always enjoyed good food from this establishment. They also forgot to put in my second can of ginger beer. Not happy 😡

Syam gave us impeccable service, recommendations on food and drinks, and friendly attentive service without being intrusive. He found out that it was my birthday, and organised a birthday plate at the end of our meal. Food and drinks were amazing, and the interior design of the restaurant was very nice too. Definitely recommend a visit.

One of the best restaurants in Welwyn. Wouldn’t know it is a chain due to how fantastic the food is. Staff are always so friendly and accommodating. My favourite is the sticky chicken or the king prawn pad Thai. Delicious.

Delicious meal, the starter was very flavoursome

Our second visit and we enjoyed it as much as the first. I took my daughter for Father's Day first and then my birthday. The welcome was proficient and the service excellent. All of the dishes were packed with flavour and perfectly cooked. We had a set of tapas and a few other small plates. All of the dishes were seasoned perfectly. In particular we enjoyed the slow cooked beef, the crisp squid and crispy duck. The service was professional, attentive and friendly. I thought the price of the meal was great value. We're looking forward to a third visit sooh.

The Cambridge one is a lot better

Had an afternoon lunch on a warm day. Sat outside in the undercover seating area. Food was excellent, service was exceptional. Food options were extensive and when served the dishes were plentiful.

I’m not a fan of chain restaurants, however we was recommend the chain of Thai food. We booked a table on line and made a note that we were arriving with a wheel chair user. We was greeted by a warm and friendly staff member who asked if we wanted downstairs or upstairs, she explained that they had a fire door to use I said I had a booking and she said she had been waiting for us. She showed us to a table with plenty of room. The food was exceptionally good in taste and flavour and the staff were on hand to ensure we both had a great experience. I will be trying their other branch closer to home , next time.

The place was so lovely the atmosphere and decoration but what made it even better was our server Mauro (I hope this is how you spell it :)) His energy and kindness really made my mum and I day. He was chatty, helpful and so interested in our conversation with him which made us feel very valued. Thankyou so much we will be back :)

The atmosphere and service was incredible! Sara was our waiter and even with a busy service she was lovely, intentive and friendly! We had the money bags and pork skewer bites to start and they were amazing! Highly recommend the pork. Then the main was the jungle curry and it was such a unique taste and incredible flavours. Will definitely visit again.

Starter nice which was squid The chicken and prawn Pad Thai noodle was not so good, noodles were overcooked, there was more big cubes of tofu than chicken and prawn. Not sure why you would add this when it was a meat dish. Used to be a busy restaurant, It's definitely gone down hill.

3 adults had Sunday lunch in the Giggling Squid in Welwyn. We have been to lots of Giggling Squid restaurants and really like their food which is consistently good everywhere. We had the set Tapas which was very tasty. Because it was a Sunday it was fairly empty so the atmosphere was not great. Service was pretty good. Do we still be back!

They have quite a few item on the menu which are gluten free so there was no trouble navigating the menu online and narrowing down my selection. Management takes orders for allergies to make sure you are served what you can eat however the kitchen and serving staff need more training. I’m gluten free and my friend is peanuts and we had items marked gluten free which I knew weren’t on my menu so double check, I could have been extremely sick if I’d not questioned. Also my friend’s order came with peanuts which is a red flag! Worse than me she could have ended up in hospital, so a few items were sent back and re-ordered. Food is good staff are pleasant and friendly They just need a little bit more organisation. This is my second visit to this branch and the first one had issue with the kitchen too.

The Giggling Squid Thai Restaurant was a wonderful place to eat. A lovely location, tasty cuisine, and super service.

I am sorry I have to give a score of 2 , and that is because the food is excellent or it would have been a 1 . The service is shocking . The restaurant was not full , we sat down at 8:35pm and ordered drinks around 8:45pm we had to ask where our drinks were ? They arrived 9:20pm .The mojito ordered was sub standard ! Then we had to ask to order starters , the food was delicious . Then our mains came , again very nice . We had to keep attracting attention to ask for more drinks and water .The bill was slapped onto our table at 10:30 , just after we’d ordered another bottle of wine ! The waiter saying ‘No hurry’ but we are closing at 11pm ! It was a Friday night ? He reappeared 2 minutes later with the card machine , and we said ‘so there IS a hurry ?’ We also mentioned the delay in ordering our food at the beginning of the evening , no reply was given . We paid and had to take the wine home , as the music was turned off and the lights were being turned off ! Poor show

Absolutely delicious food and all the waiters were so lovely! It was really busy and two of the restaurants we tried to go to had already turned us away due to too many people, however giggling squid got us in really quickly. The service was incredible and the sticky chicken is absolutely divine!! Also lots of vegetarian options for one of my family members. 100% recommend.

If you are thinking about going to this restaurant then stop thinking and GO! The food is delicious and plentiful. You have lots of choices to choose from. Waiting staff are attentive and if anyone has a food allergy they are really serious about what food you can in fact order. The atmosphere is busy but you are not left waiting for service. I will deffo be going back and recommending to family and friends and anyone who will listen. You won't be disappointed.
