Came here for lunch I really like the lunch deal I had the steak sandwich cooked perfectly really tasty well presented and great to still see Abbot reserve on tap fantastic ale really friendly welcoming staff always a joy to come here .

We haven’t been here for some time as old manager was awful and so was food. However today we thought we’d try again and wow what a turn around. Everyone including the manager were lovely. They couldn’t have been more welcoming. Greg served us and what a total delight cheerful, efficient, polite and friendly. He is a real asset to your company. Our food was lovely and no issues catering for the allergies in our party. They went above and beyond. We shall now make this our go to place when we are in the town.

My friends and 1 had a really lovely lunch today, Friday 13th December. There were 14 of us, so many different choices, including the Christmas lunch. Each meal came on time and very hot. The staff were friendly and helpful too, which helped make the afternoon a great success. For a reasonably priced meal I would certainly recommend The Doctors Tonic.

Came in with my partner and my daughter on Friday afternoon for a spot of lunch. Was a lovely warm and relaxing vibe. We both had the halloumi wrap and the team member suggested adding chicken, what amazing advice that was as the wrap was beautiful. Fantastic spot for some lovely food, the menu looked awesome too. We will certainly be back to try some other dishes.

Nice pub but pricey being honest and only one member of staff serving on a Saturday afternoon . Management sort this out the poor lad was working here s socks off

When I’ve visited I’ve loved the pub

Ordered the fish and chip dinner, for a friend which he said was nice. Me and my husband had some starters. I ordered cheesy chips but was brought out fries. I specifically asked if they did the chunky chips. Very disappointed as the meal was brought out first, and the starters followed 5 minutes later and because mine had to go back everyone had eaten before I finally got my cheesy chips.

Went for a drink before a meal. Most people were drinking outside in the sun. There was quite a queue for service but it soon disappeared. Limited beer choices, most were lagers.

Visited as part of my tour of The World's End pubs, this is number 3 I believe. Only one person serving on a busy Saturday afternoon and nobody to clear glasses in the beer garden which was a shame. There was a DJ playing a fine selection of 70s and 80s reggae closely reflecting the choice of Don Letts at Glastonbury this year. Aspalls was superb.

Great food and drink in a great atmosphere. Only let down is that this has happened twice now where my food which I ordered on the app came but when no drink. Both times had gone to the bar and the second time they said I wouldn’t bother ordering on the app when it’s busy. Was not notified of this prior anywhere annoyingly!

Pretty decent place to get together with friends or family. It has a nicely decorated front garden with ambient lighting. Inside looks like it has been done to a really high standard with pool table and plenty of tables. Parking is limited though and you have to register your vehicle at the bar for parking. Failing that there is always parking across the street in the Sainsbury's car park but restrictions may apply. Furthermore, most of the place is pretty level so it's relatively easy to use with a buggy or a wheelchair (which is a plus for me). The service is pretty good and almost no wait times. Food is pretty decent and there is a mixture of different options to suit most people's tastes.

Had a couple of drinks, not many people but it was a Tuesday. Bell went at 11, went to get a last drink and he said bell went 15 minutes before for last orders. It didnt, but nice atmosphere. Found a phone in the loo, gave it to barman. Hope owner got it back.

So from outside it looked nice. Got inside ordered two rounds of drinks on the app, first one they forgot a mixer in a drink, second one didn't turn up as they didn't have what was ordered. Both problems easily sorted. Toilets were disgusting, seats hanging off, no locks and mould in between tiles. Shame as staff were friendly and helpful.

3 dishes were off menu, ordered iron steak came out cold , was told by chef to near air conditioning but chips were warm . But £15 for small piece of iron steak , small bowl of fries and 3 cherry tomatoes not even on vine . Not enjoyable . Wish had mac and cheese like daughter.

Favourite place to come and watch the football with the boys and the TV outside for the Euros is a game changer, hope you keep it when the premire league starts up again

I have a soft spot for this pub great building and great location really lovely friendly staff all hand pumps were working and tried false nine it was light in colour but not citrus so a a lovely pint and had to have a pint of Greene King IPA great staple. I have eaten here many times food is always really good I only stayed for a pint but did have the cheesy garlic bread very tasty really recommend

I came in with my Dad for a couple pints. We fancied something to eat and had glanced at the menu prior. We ordered a 2 pink Steak Sandwich with fries. When they arrived they were beautifully cooked. Pints were pours perfectly. Service was unmatched in both etiquette and speed. Will Definitely be recommending to family and friends aswell as returning myself in the future. Also has nicely sized function room for private events.

Cosy atmosphere for a Town Centre pub.

A good quality pub A good menu with the classics done to a great standard. Very reasonable prices. A nice patio area at the front with lots of tables and umbrellas, would definitely recommend on a sunny day. The interior has a nice decor with a classic pub feel whilst being modern and not dated.

Went there on Friday evening for food and drinks with a couple of friends and always have a good time. Was a little shocked to see one barman serving was clearly drunk and even had the cheek to ask us to buy him a pint. This I think was very weird as I’m not sure that kind of behaviour would be tolerated in any other GK establishment. The other members of staff were absolutely fantastic (tall guy and girl) On a whole I won’t let this put me off and will definitely be back. Was the shorter guy. Shaggy looking and skinny with a northern accent

The staff and venue were great. We went out to have some food. We know it is basic on food. I selected three items, small playes. The food ok, however the battered halloumi was cold and so was the karaage sticky chicken was not hot. The crispy smashed potatoes were hot. I didn't want to make a fuss infront of family and did ot want to wait for a replacement. The food was still very tasty.

Staying in Welwyn with my wife for a couple of nights, saw that there was a Greene King pub and expected a quiet restaurant with maybe background music and cosy dimly lit tables. As soon as I walked in, I realised it wasn't that type of place. Very noisy, busy, people standing around the tables drinking, pool cues waving around. Fortunately, I had booked in advance and the barman told me that there was a table for me reserved in a relatively quieter room to the left of the main entrance, which was acceptable. My wife enjoyed her food, but my battered fish was wet and greasy. Would I go again for food? Only if I could guarantee a table in the quieter room and I would probably avoid a time when it is likely to be busy, such as when there is a sporting event being shown, or a weekend afternoon/evening. The staff were friendly and it looked a good pub for socialising watching sport.

A post 6th form meet up brought me to the doctors tonic one Sunday evening. Absolutely loved the Aspalls Cider, highly reccomend. The staff were lovely and friendly. Really top chaps and chappettes. The food looked nice although I didn’t indulge in such luxuries and the overall experience was warm and welcoming.

Amazing pub, always have a good time with my mates. Greg is a legend, top geezer. He looks like he'd enjoy a good night out. Upon Greg's request, I spent around 2 grand buying the pub rounds, turned out I met the love of my life through this. I've now got 2 beautiful kids all thanks to that top lad Greg.

I have come here with a couple of mates, amd they have been absolutely fantastic with banging food and top tier service from Greg and Millie at the bar. :)

Just popped in here for a Sunday evening and had the warmest welcome from Milly and Greg. The food was outstanding and the new menu is fantastic! Plus a wide variety of drinks. Will definitely be coming back, highly recommend!

Very spacious pub, good atmosphere, but expensive. Greg was one of the best servers I’ve seen in a while, top lad and doesn’t mind slamming a few pints with his customers. Overall Greg made the experience worth while.

Hubby and I popped in yesterday before our meal, enjoyed so much and came back again. Drinks reasonable with very lovely staff who were happy to help and have a nice chat. Clean throughout made to feel very welcome.
