Called and made an order for collection. Received food with excellent customer service from the team, and the food was delicious, flavourful, and very fresh. Great value for money, as the portions are generous.

This van has been in WGC for decades and never disappoints - fresh ingredients and really friendly staff. I used to think kebabs were for closing time but I haven't had a drink in over 11 years and I still go here regularly! Quick service, generous portions, reasonable prices...and the the chilli sauce is awesome! A cut above the rest.

You can only order with a company that rips you off. Great food but can’t order direct. 7 bucks plus to get delivery. Shame as I was regular client. No more

I recently visited Kebab Van and I have to say, the kebabs were absolutely fantastic. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. However, I was a bit disappointed with the prices. The cost of a kebab was quite high, and to add insult to injury, the chips that came with it not very nice. They were stale and more often than not, cold. I found it quite ridiculous that I was paying 4 pounds for chips that weren't even enjoyable to eat. Overall, I would say that Kebab Van has excellent kebabs, but they could definitely improve on their pricing and the quality of their sides. If you're willing to overlook the high prices and less-than-stellar chips, then I would definitely recommend giving their kebabs a try. Just be prepared to pay a little extra for it.

Lovely people that run this van. I ordered a very basic kebab as I don't have a big appetite. I think it's the best kebab I've ever eaten. I ordered a small one and it was more than enough for me. I'd be a regular if I lived locally. I have to say WGC is a very nice town.

Absolutely worth every penny, the containers are so full, I can never finish in one go I save it for the next day. Absolutely delicious, bought from them several times and never got disappointed! One thing I would like to add, I always ask my salad separately from the kebab as that is how I think it should be, as one is hot and other cold, the kebab would cool down by the time I reach home, and they always do this for me. Thank you! The best!

£4.80 on Deliveroo for a very small portion of sad looking cheesy chips. Wouldn’t use them again, not worth the money and not great food.

First time ordering from here and I was Impressed. Service was quick and friendly, ordered a chicken shish /lamb doner combi and chips. Chips were still hot and tasty and the kebab was really good. Chicken could have been cooked a bit longer as I like it slightly burnt. Salad was nice and fresh and portion size was pretty good. I'll definitely go here again when next in the area.

It’s hard to know whether you can trust a plain white van claiming to be Welwyn Best Kebab but you can! Chicken and lamb shish kebabs were tasty, cooked perfectly so they weren’t dry, and the salad was really fresh. Very friendly service too - I will be returning soon.

I’m From Maidstone down here helping out the forces as veteran on the coving 19 operation at mandals staying at Premier inn, I decided to get dressed and showered, Now I’m looking for something to eat in the lockdown had no idea where to go, I found the Welwyn garden best kebab van, run a search and review looked up and wasn’t very impressed with the other reviews. But there wasn’t much else I fancied, so I jumped in both feet and was not disappointed at all very tasty mixed kebab, not greasy, cook well, good salad,

Stayed in Welwyn Garden City with not much going on or open so opted for a kebab. Best kebab was one of the only kababerys* open and probably the best choice we made from the day we left home... 5* food and service 👍.

Excellent service. Delicious food. If ordering for home delivery then bear in mind they tend to put everything into one box. Do call and specify how you would like it delivered. I ordered the sauces in a seperate pot so I actually enjoyed the flavour of the grilled meat. Overall, the best in WGC.

I tried both kebab places in Welwyn Garden city, the W G City Kebabs and the Welwyn Garden Best kebab van and the kebab van is much better then the shop. The quality of the meat is better The workers at the van are very friendly and often create good conversation. They are not slow at making the food and always will make it delicious. BEST KEBAB VAN I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO.

Best Kebabs Van in Welwyn Garden City. I have been using this van for the last 17 years, located in Stonehills on their pitch near Bebo. They can do burgers; meat kebabs or pitta bread filled with salad. Cold soft drinks and chips. Full menu boards aswell, I have only just mentioned the essentials. Worth more than one visit. This service van is an Essential part of Welwyn Garden City Life!

We love the pub , the staff are great BUT the menu is small so ,as we ended up doing, ordered something that we really didn't want save for going somewhere else which, on Saturday night not on. Food was OK but even though asked for completely plain burger came with gherkins a pet hate of my wife. Happy to go again but not for food!

As a local resident and keen cyclist, I’m always on the lookout for new spots to stop for coffee or breakfast during my rides. I stumbled upon Essendon Golf Club by chance while driving past one day—it looked inviting, so I made a mental note to include it in my next cycling route. To be sure it was a cyclist-friendly venue, I returned by car a few days later and asked a staff member if bikes were welcome. The young man I spoke to was polite, welcoming, and informed me that breakfast starts at 7 a.m., and yes, cyclists are absolutely welcome. Fast forward to my next ride—20 miles in, I arrived at the golf course. As it was my first visit, I wasn’t sure about the proper way to access the garden area with my bike. I walked it through the golf shop towards the outdoor seating area, but as I reached the doors, the manager approached me and said I couldn’t take my bike that way and needed to go around. I apologised, explaining it was my first time there and I didn’t know the correct route. Rather than simply guiding me, he repeated—quite firmly—that I shouldn’t have come that way. I then asked if I could exit through a nearby door instead of retracing my steps. He sighed, said “Hold on,” and asked another staff member to open the door. When my friend arrived a couple of minutes later (he came in separately), he was met with the same abrupt and dismissive tone. Neither of us felt particularly welcomed at that point. "Not welcoming to cyclists, and the staff seemed more focused on enforcing authority than offering hospitality. After making our way to the garden, we ordered breakfast. While waiting for our food, the manager returned and sat down at our table. He began with a rather unexpected “just so you’re aware” and explained that when golfers see cyclists, they become wary due to “snatch-and-grab” thefts happening at other local golf courses. He said he’s part of a WhatsApp group where such incidents are shared, though he admitted nothing of the sort had happened at Essendon. He claimed that the thieves dress in full cycling kit, enter golf shops, grab polo shirts (apparently worth around £60), and cycle off. I pointed out that the gear I was wearing costs considerably more—£120 jersey, £225 bib shorts, £235 shoes, and a £12,995 bike. He nodded and said, “They look just like us.” The implication being that anyone—even properly dressed cyclists—could be a potential thief. He ended the conversation by telling us we were welcome anytime but should “just be aware.” I’ve never visited a venue and felt so unwelcome. The manager’s tone and approach were off-putting and completely unnecessary. If we hadn’t already paid for the food, I would’ve left. To sense-check his story, I later spent about 30 minutes searching online and couldn’t find any mention of these alleged thefts. I then rang a few friends who regularly play golf at various clubs in the area, and none had heard anything like this either. And let’s be honest—if someone in full cycling kit and cleats can sprint into a shop, steal shirts, and ride off one-handed… they probably belong in the Tour de France. The whole thing sounded made up, or at the very least, exaggerated. The setting is lovely, the food was decent—but the experience left a bad taste. Based on how we were treated,
