Misya Meze & Grill in Welwyn Hatfield

My friend and I have eaten in this restaurant before and really enjoyed it. Maybe the management has changed but we went there a few days ago and complained to three staff members about the bowl of salad served with our lamb shish. It was just a soggy mass of ghastly bland vegetables, white cabbage and sweetcorn and other unrecognisable stuff, nothing like a proper Turkish salad. One waiter tried to tell us it was a complimentary salad specially for us, although a salad was shown on the menu as included in the price. I told him and 2 other waiters that it looked like it had been sitting around for 2 or 3 days. The veggies were all one colour - sludge - apart from sweet corn, which we have never had before in a Turkish salad. There was just one half slice of tomato and about 4 baby spinach leaves arranged on the edge. It sat in a wet tasteless pool of liquid. I just cannot express how bad it was. I should have taken a photo. Also, although there was a good portion of very tender lamb, the bulgar wheat portion was minimal. We definitely will not be going back again. All they needed to do to put it right was to remove the soggy salad and bring us a proper fresh Turkish salad but no such offer was made to us. So disappointing.

Just came back from Misya with worst experience ever. For starters we ordered Falafel and Hummus. Falafel were HARD AS A ROCK because ofcourse they reheated and it was not fresh. For mains, my partner had mixed grill and I ordered Chicken Bayti. Mixed grill had meat smell which we are fine with because ofcourse lamb has it's strong smell. But why did my chicken bayti have a terrible smell? Chicken is never smelly if it is fresh. So that only means it was old and served to us reheated. It was so off putting that we left the entire meal. When we tried to tell the manager in charge he said it's the sauce(like I have never in my life ever had any Turkish meal). We paid in full which was a shame because good restaurants atleast offer to give a refund. I would have paid regardless because it does cost to prepare the meal but to not even get an offer was distasteful. Overall 1 star because atleast the hummus and potatoe wedges were good.

This is about the 4th time I have visited this restaurant and previously I have had no complaints but this time my main dish (king prawns and rice) was very small in portion size given it came at a cost of £22. Whilst the overall dish was very tasty, I have no complaints there, there were only 4 prawns to eat, the rest of the plate was made up of empty prawn shells clearly to bulk the plate out. The rice portion felt quite small also and that was it apart from the sauce. I didn't feel this represented good value for money so wouldn't plan to return

Great experience on a Friday evening with 241 cocktails and DJ. Incredible service - I cannot emphasise this enough. The team that work there are absolutely top notch. If there was a 6th star they would achieve it easily. Food always amazing....!!! Albeit easy to eat too much.

Thank you to Mehmet and all the staff at Misya for making my husband's 50th surprise party and absolutely amazing night last Saturday. Everyone really loved the food (which I didn't manage to get pictures of as was too busy partying) Brilliant atmosphere and the decor of the function room was stunning ..oh and the DJ was brilliant! Can't fault a thing. Will definitely be back for a meal next time!

Wonderfully decorated restaurant. Fresh and delicious food. Staff with a lovely smile and attention to detail. Loved every minute of it. Highly recommend! Had to come again and can say that the quality is still just as high as a year ago. Credit to the chefs as the food was tasty and fresh. The staff again were lovey.

Having been a regular customer spending £100 pcm, more if you include my friends who no longer go, they insulted me by not taking my complaint seriously. I got a terrible dish (which happens I have no problem) instead of eating in, it was when I had it delivered. They wouldn’t take my word for it being poor, they demanded proof. Which actually I had because I took a photo of it. I even went into the restaurant, on principal. I think it’s very rude insisting on proof to begin with, but to of shown them, they take my mobile number & the manger never called me…. Very smart business people NOT!!!! This happened a while ago, eight of us were out this weekend, I stopped my group from eating & drinking here. Hopefully they’ll learn for future, I never intend on going back! One lamb dish for £20 has cost hundreds on lost revenue, I don’t get it in here hard times.

Misya Welwyn Garden City was happy to accommodate my special request, as I work for the NHS I’m struck for time quite often have to rush. The Takeaway here is just as good as eating in! Thank you for all that you do, your customer service is second to none.

Went for my 60th birthday with a large party and we was looked after by Abdullah who was so polite and very good as I have special dietary requirements but it was no trouble,the whole party was served all together and constantly asked if we needed drinks ect so we didn't need to visit the bar. Food was excellent and I've been before and it was the same then, the live singer they had was very good and when people started leaving we even had tables moved so we could dance. Would recommend to anyone for atmosphere, food and service.

The service was excellent, staff were friendly and very efficient but we were a bit disappointed with the food. The lamb on two of our meals had grizzle in it and was minced up. Our desserts were also hard and difficult to eat. Overall, okay but as the food is very expensive, we had expected it to be a lot better. Staff and place very nice though.

Myself and a mate came here for dinner. We have eaten at a lot of Turkish establishments but this is by far one of the best we have ever had. Reasonable price, great service and food absolutely fantastic. We’ll be back!

They made my 52nd Bday special. The ambiance of this restaurant is simply elegant with soft lighting perfect for any occassion. The menu has a fantastic selection of dishes, and we loved everything we tried. The service is top-notch as the staff is incredibly accommodating and friendly. I thought that it would just be an ordinary dinner but they made it special especially when the staff presented the cake on the table. It was awesome!!!....oh they also gave me a free bottle of Prosecco as a bday gift! Thank you!!!

I ordered tomato basil pasta from the kids’ menu, and it came with chili flakes in it. Why would you put chili in a kids’ dish?! You should at least warn that there is chili in the dish. My son couldn’t eat it at all because it was too spicy and burned his mouth!

Grated and served by Abdul, who provided one of the best hospitality experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food and drinks were absolutely beautiful. This place has officially jumped into my top 3 favourites! Thank you Abdul for looking after us.

My husband and I visit this restaurant a few times a year. The food is fresh and very tasty. The meat is succulent, im a vegetarian and there are plenty of dishes for me. The manager always recognises us. Service is always good. Thank you for looking after us Have a great Christmas

Quick delivery, really tasty food !

We were visiting friends in Welwyn Garden City and for our last night we decided to eat here. I remembered eating here before and it was good. Our friends and my husband shared a bottle of wine. I had the 2 for 1 cocktail, the Misya Rose. What a beautiful floral flavor with rose petals in the glass…and I got 2 for 1. They were not strong but surely were delicious. Personally I would have just asked for tap water because I really don’t like paying for water but it was already ordered so well I always drink water. Our friends ordered the lamb shish kebab and our other friend the lamb chops. My husband ordered a dish called guvec ( a lamb dish) and I had the sea bass fillet with rice. Our friends also ordered the sauteed mixed vegetables. Our friend really enjoyed the lamb chops and said they were the best he ever had. Everyone really liked their food. I got so much fish, it was really nice. The sautéed vegetables were really good with tons of flavor. We also had a house salad. My husbands lamb dish came with some cheese on the side. The food was very good. Our waiter Abdullah was very nice and service was always with a smile. The place was packed the night we went and we did get out of there before the music started. A lovely last evening with very good food and very good friends.

Excellent food and service this weekend, so much so that we went twice!

I rarely give 5 stars but this restaurant deserves each one of them. My family chose to have a birthday lunch for my granddaughter and felt that we had definitely chosen well. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and the ambience, perfect! A real treat to be served by Abdul, who made sure to give my granddaughter special attention on her birthday. We all had a super time!

These guys are just great. Very hospitable and know a thing or two about customer service. Went there for a small family dinner for my 2nd son's birthday treat after checking out their menu online first. Earlier in the day I collected a cake from Cakebox and took it to Misya who kindly put it away in their fridge. After a delicious meal of mixed shared starters, calamari, creamed mushrooms we tucked into mains consiting of kleftiko, mixed kebabs and more calamari. The non-alcoholic coctail by the name of candy candy was enjoyed so much it lasted 5 seconds! After allowing us to recover out came the cake complete with firework candle, fun waiters clapping, singing and fun light up plastic specs. Took us all by surprise and if this is a quiet Monday evening I'm going back to see what happens on the weekend! We loved it but most importantly my 15 year old son loved it.

Just amazing food ,service was so friendly. I have eaten in Turkish restaurants all over the country but this was my favourite. My husband is not keen on dining out but this restaurant has swayed him to dine out more as long as it is in this place. Ty so much for this lovely evening.

Had my wife’s 50th on 26th October and the staff truly went above and beyond for all of our 22 people party,brought the cake out with dry ice and the singer singing happy birthday was brilliant!! Food lovely as always cut our cake up for us and served it lovely cocktail bar upstairs also,can’t wait to go back 👌🏼

I recently dined at this restaurant and was thoroughly disappointed. The food was poorly prepared and lacked flavour, and left much to be desired in terms of quality. The presentation was unappealing, and the portions felt stingy for the price. £15.95 for my wrap and had to wait 15 minutes, I did send it back as it looked awful. You can’t be charging London prices when you offering this kind of food. They did try to cheer me up with old rice pudding with no spoon. Overall, it was a subpar experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it. I will attach a picture of the joke of a wrap. Wish Google did 0 stars, they thoroughly deserve it.

Best food in Welwyn Garden City! We popped in on a Saturday evening, on the off chance that there was a table. Even though they were extremely busy, we were seen to and seated very quickly. Service was excellent throughout the meal. We were served by someone who looked to be the manager/owner- it was lovely to see how passionate he must be about the place. The food came out in a timely manner, but did not feel rushed, considering how busy they were. I had the lamb chops, which were cooked to perfection (it's quite rare for me to say that about lamb chops, as I'm so fussy with them!). My husband ordered a mixed grill, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The cocktails being on a 2 for 1 offer was an added bonus. Although the meal was on the pricier side, I would 100% come back here, as it was worth every penny.

So disappointed, you are so inconsistent with your menu!! When we came to your restaurant the food was good and the amount for the price was just okay, when we ordered take away for the first time, we received similar what we had in the restaurant, the second time when I opened the bag I wanted to cry!!!! Just a little bit of salad, and like 3 small cubes of chicken and the rest was just cubes of bread with yogurt and plenty of sauce!! The third time you mixed up our order and instead of chicken cubes we received minced chicken that was absolutely disgusting. Again the amount was shocking for the price we paid! I would not advise anyone to order any take away from this restaurant..

Ordered via Deliveroo and the food was absolutely delicious. It was delivered on time which was great. We had some items missing so went through the Deliveroo app and thought it would contact the restaurant. I ended up calling and they were fantastic and sent our remaining food in a taxi to our house with some free food. It was spectacular service but I felt terrible considering the email came through saying we were getting a refund for the missed items. Phoned back and offered to pay but they were very generous and said it was ok. Fantastic customer service and we will definitely be ordering again.

An absolutely wonderful evening, from start to finish! As soon as we walked through the door we were made to feel so welcome. We were greeted with kindness and made to feel 'special'. We were asked if there was an occasion which we informed them was my mother in laws birthday. They went above and beyond to make her day special with complimentary cake & shots - even two little lollypops for my daughters. The food was delicious, cocktails great, fabulous atmosphere ( especially when the singer turned up!) and all at a decent price. This is a great family favourite x

This is our go to place when we visit Wewlyn Garden City. Food fabulous, staff welcoming and can’t do enough for you. Little extras and usually either belly dancing or tonight live music great singer.

Enjoyed the food - the hummus is lovely and so is the salmon dish. Welcoming staff. Nice restaurant. The food is quite expensive and there is a service charge added to the bill which you feel uncomfortable asking to have removed but this makes the meal more expensive - they should ask if a customer would like to add this or not. Also, when ordering, you get some sauces that, if you have ordered hummus, will come with bread - don't eat all the bread before your hummus arrives - that's all the bread you get and it isn't complementary!! Other than that, the restaurant is lovely and the food was very nice! I would recommend.

Good food and good service, a bit untidy

The food was lovely and so fresh, great service. The only downside was they had a DJ and the music was so loud we couldn't hear everyone talking round the table. We just wanted to have a conversation. The music was good, but no one was up dancing and it was 7.30pm. We just wanted a nice catch up with friends, my advice would be to turn the music up later in the evening, to get people up dancing.

Went to misya with my friends for my birthday was an excellent experience.food was so delicious and fresh staff very friendly and even bought out a cake with birthday song in the background playing and everyone clapping truly a great experience would definitely recommend to more people and I would definitely go back there.

Raw, rotten prawns. Had the prawns 3 times before and no problem but this is a genuine health hazard uncooked rotten shell fish. Didn’t seem to care. This boss walked out said sorry and that’s it

We paid an impromptu visit late last night and were immediately made to feel so welcome. We ordered a sharing seafood platter and mixed lamb meat dish and were super impressed, the food was faultless and so delicious. The device was attentive, but not intrusive. All in all it was a wonderful experience, and if we are in the area again, we most certainly will visit again.

Exceptional Turkish food. Good service and good atmosphere. Their food IS HALAL! Apparently there is a certificate to prove this which wasn't printed on the 'new menus' but was on the older ones. This caused some angst with one of my colleagues. They produced said certificate on asking and everyone had a good evening.

Taken here for my birthday and it did not disappoint. Was a very busy service and staff went out of the way to make sure we were taken care of and even gave us some rakia to celebrate. Brilliant food and so nice to see it being cooked in the window.

We popped in for dinner and cocktails on Saturday. We were a walk in and made most welcome and given a lovely table outside. I had the feta salad. My partner had lamb fillet. Both meals were delicious and the service was very fast and friendly. The cocktails were amazing and very good value during happy hour (4-7 every day). Great experience!

Came here with a group from work as they recommended it. I had the Misya Feast and was very pleasantly surprised. Excellent food , very well presented and a lot of it. There were a great selection of starters hot and cold, followed by grilled fish and a mixed great with salad and rice. All fantastic. Very pleased. Friendly service and very good price. Highly recommend.

The service was great we booked a 14 people family dinner and we were indecisive to choose what we getting and mr Abdul help us to choose a lot quicker and he’s very interactive and the food was amazing and the singer was very talented and we were entertained highly recommended to come back again.

We decided to go here for lunch as they had a nice lunch menu at a good price and good reviews. We received our starters very fast which was good but it went downhill from there. We ordered 1 chicken shish and 1 lamb shish. The chicken shish was dry, the rice seemed like reheated microwave rice and the bread was hard. The lamb was completely inedible. It was so chewy and looked like leftover pieces of lamb. When we told the manager it was chewy we were told it’s currently a bad season for lamb as so it’s a bit more chewy than usual. This is complete wrong, they just buy very very cheap lamb at bad quality. We will never return left feeling sick.

We had a Baby shower, as usual food was delicious, outstading staff, very friendly, entertaining, a very nice space, we always come back. We done several celebrations, even our friends start celebrating there. Well done Misya!
