The best restaurants in Waveney East of England

Absolute gem of a restaurant. It's quite small (I counted seating for 26) so I would recommend booking. The owner and staff have created a warm, very friendly atmosphere and we were made to feel very welcome. The menu caters extremely well for the majority of diets and everything is freshly cooked. The owner is very helpful and is happy for you to pre-order your choice of meals in advance. This means you don't run the risk of something not being available , which is always a possibility when it's fresh ingredients and cooked to order. We had pizza, tiger prawns and jerk pork burger, all of which were fabulous and the tiramisu dessert is amazing. The level of service was perfect, not rushed, attentive, extremely polite and friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening, Desmond's has just become our first choice restaurant in Lowestoft.

A great community hub. A full on all-inclusion cafe with pottery and all sorts of crafts. BSL cafe too on a Friday morning and certain days a cat therapy time. Ran by a very generous lady and her volunteers. Also a freebie corner or foods is there on certain days. Great coffee and pancakes.

I and my friend visited this restaurant after India vs Sri Lanka match the unique place and the unique quality of food at reasonable price which get awesome experience first time I see the world cup match in England

I have been a regular visitor of Slice since in opened last Jan. Their cakes, cookies and brownies are to die for! I asked them to create a cupcake & brownie tower for my wedding in August 2023 and it was absolutely perfect. Everyone loved it! As an avid coffee drinker, I was then over the moon when they opened their second unit on the seafront serving the most delicious caramel lattes! I love to treat myself to their sausage rolls also. The ladies at Slice always make my day, they’re truly wonderful. I couldn’t recommend visiting Slice enough. 10/10!

Lovely spot to stop for tea, coffee or lunch. Located by the sea from, just up from the pier. The staff are lovely. We only stopped by for a cuppa, but the food looked very nice. Parking is right out front.

We loved this little Thai restaurant. Cosy atmosphere. Happy friendly staff. Small menu. Delicious tasty dishes. Freshly cooked. Reasonably priced. Recommended 👍

We went here for dinner recently and unfortunately, there were a few things that really let this place down. First and foremost, the owners were incredibly rude to their staff, even at times, publicly humiliating them for very minor details. The pizzas themselves were good, but with the price, lack of atmosphere and frosty reception from the owners factored in, I doubt I'll be dining here again.

We had lunch at this lovely café, good food freshly prepared and friendly owner. A great addition to Kessingland. Would recommend

We stayed on a dinner b & b tarrif. The food was excellent and the owner and staff very friendly. However we were surprised that the room was not serviced each day, and it was not mentioned anywhere. On arrival 3pm we had no English tea bags in the room, and had to wait till 6pm for them! The bathroom toilet was not cleaned and on closer inspection the room was not properly cleaned. Breakfast was lovely but no offer of fruit juice, toast, marmalade etc. To sum up, great food, friendly staff but the general care of the room and surroundings was very poor.

Been here twice now once for Sunday lunch and other time evening meal. All I can say is brilliant food is freshly prepared so have to wait but we'll worth it, both times we all agreed it was superb quality, cooked perfectly, quality produce. Oh and another big plus for us, hawkstones on tap great drink while waiting for great food 10 out of 10 all round

The Quays Café Visit: 10th July 2024 What a lovely Café with a fabulous view over Oulton Broad. We had Brie and Black Forrest ham toasties and a paninie. They were so good as was the coffee. There are nearby Lois. Staff are friendly and efficient. Thank you, Micah.
