Top-notch Indian food is always hot, and every dish perfection I've had loads of different dishes from here, all fantastic worthy of 5 stars loads of lovely side dishes nann lovely and good value as well and everything we have ordered as been really tasty there's always a little something extra for free tonight it was a lovely lamb dish not a small portion may I add, never is this to greasy either. Never once have we had a bad dish. Customer service is excellent 👌 as well. And the odd few times they forget a part of the order which happens that they rush it out to you really quick no questions asked excellent all round quality and service

Besides excellent food and a good atmosphere, the staff were fantastic. We were lucky to get the last free table not having pre-booked. There were treats on the house to top off the experience, giving us a taste of additional savoury and dessert dishes. Great evening - thanks to the team.

How I have never been here before I do not know! My son booked it, being a keen home delivery enthusiast, but I like restaurant eating. I'm not sure I can really do it justice in a review, but the decoration was really nice and the staff ultra friendly - but not in an annoying way - just right. The craziness was they kept bring extra bits and pieces, so we were lost in a melange of food we had ordered and they has provided. Welcome drinks and all sorts of stuff right up to when we left and my wife got a gift! We shall 100% be back.

Visited for the first time yesterday to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and had the best Indian meal I have had for a long time! The staff were so friendly and attentive and certainly know how to make you feel special. I would recommend this restaurant and you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing takeaway, we ordered the set meal for two plus an extra naan and Bombay potato. We had so much food we’ve both had it again today! Absolutely delicious and just so good!!

We chose the Lowestoft Tandoori because of the great reviews. They weren't wrong! The restaurant is small and intimate, the staff very friendly and hospitable and the food fabulous. We were quite excited by the array of dips presented with the popadoms. We were also given many extras to try: several side dishes, desserts and sweets as well as complementary drinks and chocolates. If we lived in Lowestoft we'd be there every weekend. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We dropped in on a drizzly Tuesday night and hadn't booked a table. The restaurant was packed, but the staff found us a table with no problem. The ambience was fantastic - really buzzing, and service was efficient and friendly from start to finish: special shout out to sweet Maya! We were made to feel really special, with lots of treats on the house including an incredible creamy, mystery dessert. Everything was super delicious: we couldn't fault it. We will definitely be back!

Really wanted to revisit as it’s been a while Owner remembered us so that’s always a good sign for the evening. Food was fantastic, not your same old menu you’ll get in most restaurants I had lamb chops and tandoori duck masala , special rice and peshwari nan We were gifted bhajis and a couple of other dishes which were delicious I’m not sure why we havnt been back for a while but will return soon

The staff are lovely and the food is excellent. The only snag is … no wheelchair access. We already knew this and ordered our food as a takeaway to eat at home. All the portions are very generous and they also popped in a few extra complimentary things for us to try.

Found this wonderful restaurant when visiting Lowestoft with 2 friends. The staff were so friendly and attentive, really lovely people who could not have made us feel more welcome. The food was perfect, full of flavour and the portions were so generous we took a big doggy bag away with us. 10/10

Although I’m a regular customer of Lowestoft tandoori I’m amazed at the consistent quality of the food I’ve never had a bad meal and I have been eating here since Meheraj opened.The service is excellent as is his food the team he has cannot be beaten We’ll done to all at Lowestoft tandoori.

We often do boating on the Norfolk broads and make a point of stopping at Oulton Broad just so we can go to the Lowestoft Tandoori.I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that this is one of the finest Indian restaurants in the country! The menu offers a wide range of Indian food all of which is superbly cooked. Every time we have been here, the owner has brought out a couple of dishes for us to try for free! Frequently these dishes are something new he has added or about to add to the menu, and are truly authentic Indian cuisine. The fish curries are really worth trying!The staff are very good, and are as enthusiastic as the owner, and the whole thing is superbly run. I have eaten in a lot of excellent Indian restaurants in the U.K. and I have to say, if the Lowestoft Tandoori was in those cities, it would be a serious challenger! If you love Indian food, then you should find the time to get to the Lowestoft Tandoori!

Placed an order 18:20 on Saturday called at 20:00 to chase up order was told with driver food arrived 20:30 food mostly Luke warm called restaurant to make them aware normally food is great I understand Saturday night is vey busy but I feel if you cannot deliver two minutes up the road it’s a poor show

Very rarely do you find such fantastic, swift, efficient and excellent food served from a take away service, but we did this evening from Lowestoft Tandoori. Delivered swiftly and efficiently in advance of the time stated. The food was of the utmost superb standard! Quality food and plenty of it! The breast of chicken served as a Murghi Keema was absolutely superb and the best we have tasted since we used to venture into Yorkshire to find an excellent restaurant. Not necessary now! We have one on our doorstep! Excellent in every way! AND pappadums were lovely and fresh as was the accompanying side salad,yoghurt and sauces. This was a meal to behold! Thank-you to everyone at the restaurant and take away for such fantastic service - and to the very polite delivery driver too! Faultless.

Looking for a curry house on a recent trip to the Lowestoft area. Saw the reviews for this and glad we went along. This restaurant is a Jewel in the areas range of eating out options. Great food, offering some lovely unique dishes, excellent and friendly service, cosy atmosphere, and the surprise complimentary dish of Yemeni Chicken was fabulous. Don’t be put off by what might appear a plain looking curry house from the outside… we’re more than glad we went in. Don’t hesitate to try this little gem Gary, Cheryl, Chris, Sue … Southampton

Excellent food, interesting and varied menu, helpful service and good value for money. Really couldn’t fault it. This was the first time for us as we were visiting the area. Previous reviews gave us high expectations that were exceeded, very impressed.

What can I say I have used a local Indian for years and tonight cheated on them and decided that it was time to loose my Lowestoft tandoori virginity!! After all the food review and recommendations!!! And all I can say is I wasn’t disappointed!!! Food portions were amazing !!! Taste was out of this world and genuinely some of the best food I have had in along time !!! Made a birthday meal even better and enjoyable with the amazing front of house team couldn’t have been more hospitable!! All deffo be going back this place is more than 5 stars !!!! I cannot praise this place enough. We ate here on consecutive nights this week and tried 4 different main courses. Each of them was delicious. The portions are huge. Added to this, we were given free extras to try both evenings. Amongst all the flavoursome loveliness, I might have to give a special mention to the onion bhajis; light and crispy and possibly the best I've ever tasted. Also, the 5 sauces and salad that accompanied the poppadoms were fab. The staff were friendly and efficient and the bill was surprisingly low. We will be back...

We always choose The Lowestoft Tandoori for our takeaway, absolutely delicious and a fast and friendly delivery service. Wouldn't go anywhere else. We will get round to dining in one evening, because I also hear amazing reviews about the restaurant too.

We are unable to get to the restaurant usually (but when we do it’s where we go!) The takeaways are by far the best we have had!….Delivered with a smile..piping hot and absolutely delicious!

The food was cold and disappointing, we phoned to discuss it but he was not helpful and argumentative. He said it was cold because of the traffic. It was not delivered until after rush hour. We will never order food from here again, which is a shame as we have always used them. This is not the way to run a business or keep loyal customers.

We were urged to try this takeaway, it arrived quick and there was a lot of extras BUT it was a classic case of quantity over quality, I received much more than I ordered but if I wanted it I would have ordered it, it was not a good experience, I sound ungrateful but I rather they did what they do better, take more care and drop the extras some of which were slop (Sorry)Having read the many good reviews maybe I caught them on a bad day!!

After a long day helping a family member move from London to Lowestoft, we chanced upon this restaurant, and what a find. It was packed when we arrived (we got the last available table). The service was very good, the food was was excellent, and the atmosphere was great as well. Special mention should go to our waiter. I think he said his name was Mehraj (apologies to him if I've spelt his name wrong). He was quite a showman and made us all feel very special. As well as the food we ordered, he kept on adding uncharged extras for us to try. Got to be one of the best Indian restaurants in East Anglia. Thoroughly recommended.

After reading all the excellent reviews decided to give this restaurant a try, as in the reviews it is OK but in my eyes nothing special. The food wa OK but the thing that stood out the most was the exceptional organisation. The restaurant was fully booked but each member of staff knew exactly what they were doing and worked in tandem with each other, in fact we had our main meal brought out to us within 10 minutes!! A good experience and can highly recommend.

Our first visit and definitely won’t be our last! Having been fortunate enough to eat Indian food around the world, this food was definitely up there with the best. Even the staple dishes we special. The staff we friendly and helpful and they couldn’t have done more for us, including some ‘taster’ dishes we hadn’t ordered. All in all a very enjoyable evening. Thank you For looking after us.

My family fancied an Indian Takeaway and this restaurant made some fantastic tasting dishes with additional extras added for free. Quick service and great quality food. Definitely order from them again!

We were on holiday and pre-booked a table after reading the glowing reviews. We were not disappointment. Felt very welcome by the staff and there was a lovely atmosphere. We had the poppadoms as a starter. The mains was veggie supereme minus the cream due to dietary needs and garlic rice. The other half had Ame special and the special rice. Was also given a dish of vegetables lithely spiced. The portions are very big so you would not go hungry. Such a shame we could not take doggy bag as there was so much food left over. As we were staying in a B & B . Would deffo come again and recommend this restaurant to family and friends. Thank you for a lovely welcome

Visited this Indians yesterday as we are up on holiday from Newcastle. Food was absolutely fantastic could not complain about a single thing. What was even better is the customer service absolutely outstanding. Hopefully see you again in the future keep up the amazing good work!

My husband and I visited Lowestoft Tandoori this evening, we can honestly say it was up there with the best of indian meals we have ever had, not only was the food superb but there was plenty of it. The staff were friendly, efficient and their attention to detail was excellent! Just a shame we are only here on holiday or it would definitely become our 'local'.

Very friendly staff very welcoming nice clean small restaurant can’t fault it at all on premises or the staff , But the food I’m sorry is definitely not the best in town , Especially if like HOT curry’s , naan bread , onion bhajis , Bombay Potatoes all nice , but the main dish sorry wasn’t all that to be honest !! more mild heat than anything without a kick , there are 3 Indian restaurants in town that do better hotter curry’s not going to mention any names on here !!! And also better Indian restaurants in Norwich and Norfolk , such good reviews maybe there reviews are on more mild curry’s because this restaurant overrated in my opinion!!

The first time to this restaurant and it will not be the last. We came with our daughter and all three of us had a lovely evening. The service was excellent, the food and choice of dishes was incredible.We left happy, having had a wonderful time.

We recently visited this restaurant and can safely say in 50 years of eating curries this ranked as the best we have experienced. We like to try new dishes so we were very pleased that the menu had many dishes that we were not familiar with. The portions were large and the food beautifully flavoured , every item we had was superb. We were also kindly given free samples of dishes to try including one of chicken and cheese which was amazing. We couldn't eat everything and the staff packed the leftovers for us which we have just enjoyed at home. Although very busy the staff were attentive and very pleasant and made a great fuss of my grandchildren. Unfortunately we do not live near Lowestoft or we would certainly be regular patrons . The restaurant is small but apparently very busy so I would strongly recommend booking a table , judging from our experience you won't regret it.

Super food this evening. The staff were v attentive and we had complimentary starters and fruit/nuts to finish. The food was very tasty and presented well. A lovely evening- would definitely recommend.

What a curry. Without doubt one of the best curry experiences we have ever had. The staff were run off their feet but dealt with everyone quickly and professionally. A nice touch with an extra sizzling chicken dish on the house and after the meal complementary sweet of fruit, nuts etc. A big meal for a very reasonable price. Thank you.

I've been to Lowestoft Tandoori a few times now since moving to Lowestoft and it's my go-to for somewhere to take family and friends. The service is amazing, the waitors really look after you and are polite and friendly. And the food is unrivalled by anywhere else I've eaten. It's truly amazing and I'm always pleasantly surprised by just how good it is! There's a good variety on the menu and I look forward to trying more dishes in the future.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! We have been here a few times over the years, whilst on holiday, and have always had a fantastic dining experience. Last Sunday did not disappoint! From the moment we entered, we were treated so well. The presentation of the drinks and food was lovely and the service was top class. We tried starters and desserts we would never normally have and the kids enjoyed the sweets and mints as a special treat at the end. Needless to say, we have booked again for this weeks holiday and are looking forward to enjoying all that Lowestoft Tandoori has to offer! A very delicious restaurant with quality staff.. you’d be crazy not to go!

Fantastic food and service. Although they had no high chairs our 20 month old, he was happy sitting on a chair as he enjoyed trying all the food! Our 5 year old was pleased with his fish and chips - however the Indian food, which we obviously went for, was delicious! We ordered a range of dishes - chicken tikka, a prawn dish on the specials menu, rice, cauliflower side, Nan breads and were given a chicken and cheese dish to try - yum! We also had fruit and yogurt for dessert. A great meal out with great service - highly recommended.

We ordered a takeaway from here whilst on holiday in the local area. We've never been to this restaurant before but chose it based on the Trip Advisor reviews. It was delivered to our caravan by a really lovely friendly lady (Wed 18/8 & driving a Twingo), who was a fabulous ambassador for the restaurant. The food arrived hot and when we served it up, we couldn't believe just how generous the portions were! The restaurant had also added a complimentary portion of onion bhajees and saag aloo. Everything was so delicious and perfectly cooked, it was the best meal of our holiday. There was enough left to have to following day too! We can't recommend the Lowestoft Tandoori highly enough and will definitely order from here again when we're in the area.

We read about this restaurant on trip advisor and decided to book. My advice from the get go, if you’re visiting on holiday book well in advance. It’s a small restaurant and they struggled to squeeze us in, although I’m so glad they did. The food was absolutely stunning, portions are generous and it’s incredibly good value. The service was second to none and we actually felt guilty at how reasonable our bill was at the end. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Has the pleasure of visiting Lowestoft Tandoori a couple of weeks ago on a friday night all i can say is this is how Indian Restaurants should be done!From the minute we walked in we were made to feel welcome, the restaurant decor is lovely, the food is amazing and the service is without question the best!! I live 132 miles away and I'd visit Lowestoft just to come here again, Cannot recommend it highly enough!!!

Excellent place to eat. Food was stunningly different alongside old favourites. Never had such a selection of pickles/ dips with poppadoms before. Seating a little on the tight side bit they told us they are expanding to next door soon.

2nd meal from Lowestoft Tandoori, our first being August 2020.This time we had a delivery to our caravan.The food arrived within 40 mins piping hot and huge portions. We were sent complimentary extras as well.I cant recommend this place highly enough. Excellent customer service and friendly staff. The food is excellent, we will definitely return ASAP!no surprise that this place is in the top 7 restaurants in the country! try it! It's a real gem! thanks and we will see you soon!

Super delicious, perfectly cooked with friendly & efficient service. Amazed to find a restaurant of this quality in Lowestoft, they could compete with the best anywhere in the world. Some truly exceptional dishes and exquisite flavour combinations as well. Especially recommend the tamarind chicken dish (red in colour), sorry don’t remember the name. It was incredible. The Cholay Makabar was fantastic too. Worth a trip to Lowestoft just to ear here!

We visited this restuarant on 9th August and have to say 5 stars does not do it justice!! The staff were so attentitve to our needs, so welcoming and friendly, from the start we were made to feel like royalty. The food was simply amazing, everyone agreed the their dish was well presented, with intense flavours rarely found. This gem is simply the place to be if you love traditional authentic cuisine. A must for anyone visiting the area!! We staying in Beccles and the drive over was the best decision we have made this holiday. We even had a 2 year old in a high chair...who loved every minute, being given colouring books and pencils!! Outstanding!!!

This restaurant was a fantastic find, they were fully booked, but managed to fit us in. The food was top class and the service was excellent. Very reasonably priced. With a great wine list. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. The lamb Rogan josh was fab.

I ordered through their website at 7pm on a Thursday and got an email to say they were busy so my order would be delivered at 8pm. At 8.15pm it still hadn't arrived so I phoned the restaurant. It's seemed chaotic. First they couldn't find my order then eventually, after I had asked several times when it would be delivered, all I got told was "soon". That turned out to be another 45 minutes! I was on the verge of cancelling my order when it eventually turned up. Food was ok but not worth the wait!

Food was amazing, you can tell they use good quality fresh ingredients. Always a friendly smile when collecting our food, and love the surprise when we open our bags and have complementary extras! Will not go anywhere else for a curry these guys are the best

We always get takeaway from here when holidaying in Suffolk. Great friendly service, tasty food, generous portions and always a little something added in free of charge. We can never eat it all and end up taking it back home with us too!

On the recommendation of our daughter, we visited here on a Thursday evening, one of their £11.95 'special deal' nights. The place was busy even at 6.30. The waiters were friendly and efficient. We had to wait a while to receive our bill, but the staff were very busy. I had the Lowestoft balti. There was plenty of it and it was tasty. My wife had her usual: lamb biriani, the best she'd had. There were some unusual pickles with our papadoms, including a cheesy one I'd never seen before. The decor was interesting. Bangla Desh's answer to Cliff Richard belting out songs isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it did add to the atmosphere. The bill, including drinks, was a reasonable £40.They offered us complimentary desserts but we were so full up, we declined. An excellent experience.

My parents and I visited Lowestoft Tandoori for my and my mother’s birthday. We were blown away with the level of service, portions and quality of food. The best Indian I’ve had in the UK fir a long time. Highly recommended.

Overall the meal was awful with no taste. The meal had the wrong items in them and overall were labelled incorrectly. The meal was terrible and won’t be going back soon.

Ordered a takeaway for family to celebrate a birthday and a wedding anniversary. Delicious food and complimentary dishes along with a bottle of bubbles. As always the food was very well prepared and served;ready for collection as stated on the phone. Excellent customer service when picking up the order. Just had the most amazing meal here! Definitely one of the best curries we’ve ever had and we love curry! We’re staying in Oulton Broad on holiday and I found The Lowestoft Tandoori on trip advisor. The reviews were so good and we definitely weren’t disappointed. The staff were really friendly and attentive and made an extra effort with the kids who had a great time. The food was delicious. We didn’t order starters so were very surprised when the waiter brought out a complimentary mixed starter each. For our mains we had chicken dhansak and prawn Bengal syodee with sag paneer and coconut rice. The kids had a chicken korma. The naan was gorgeous too. Would definitely recommend and will be back if we come on holiday here again!

We saw all of the amazing reviews so booked a table without hesitation. Maybe our expectations were too high and we may have chosen the wrong meals but we found this restaurant to be very average. Decor was very dated and, although the staff were attentive, they were a bit too over the top giving us food we didn't ask for. We didn't order starters but we were given them anyway, too many poppadams and a Naan bread which we didn't even touch. We paid up and left as soon as we could.

Raj and his team were very welcoming for our anniversary meal, and contributed to celebrations by letting us try a some dishes we had never tried before. The food was fantastic and he bagged up what we couldn’t eat so i could have it the next day.

From the moment we arrived we were extremely well looked after. Complimentary starters and dessert as it was our first visit. The meals were all amazing and tasted completely different. The cost was really good value and the portion sizes were large. We couldn’t eat it all so they packed up the leftovers for us to take home and enjoy. The best remark was from our children who said this was the best Indian restaurant they had ever eaten at (and they’ve been to quite a lot). You do need to book as it is so popular.

Just been to the Lowestoft Tandoori and what a great experience it was. We booked by email and was welcomed by Meheraj who had promptly confirmed our booking . The food was impeccable, the ambiance great and the service was wonderful. Even the free water looked amazing!! We were treated to extras on the house and will certainly be returning when we come back on holiday next year.

My partner and I were visiting the area and stumbled upon this small restaurant. We are so glad we went in. What a fantastic meal. The service was first class and the food was excellent: beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this place. Definitely worth a visit.

Not a lot to add really other than to reiterate what others say and that is that the food is fab, hot and served fresh and the staff and great. Would return tomorrow if I could but being on our holiday in the area, it'll have to be the next time we are in the town!MUST VISIT!!

This was an early 45th Wedding Anniversary meal. The staff were excellent. Everyone was polite, friendly and efficient. The food was also excellent and more than enough. Thouroughly enjoyed ourselves and will certainly be returning.
