Fiano in Waveney

Honestly this place was quite average. Had heard good things about the food but we were quite disappointed. The calamari was chewy in places and the pepperoni pizza looked and tasted like a frozen pizza (harsh but truth). I ordered a dish off the specials which was listed as chicken alfredo. I feel as though they definitely should specify on the menu that this is NOT pasta and that it is in fact chicken in a mushroom sauce with potatoes. It tasted fine but nothing to rave home about. We were a little disappointed as we were seated in the snug at the front which was cramped and draughty. The staff were pleasant enough, no complaints there. Unfortunately wouldn’t return.

A lovely hidden gem in Bungay. We went as a family of five, celebrating our son’s birthday. We all enjoyed are meals, drinks and the atmosphere.

The whole process from booking to the end was amazing! They offered to dress the table with balloons and do a surprise dessert for the birthday boy. The food was amazing. We ordered the chicken, the ragu, linguine and pizza. No one had a complaint to make. They even brought limoncello at the end of the meal. I can’t fault the whole evening. Service was impeccable, the lady who served us even remembered the birthday boys name and dimmed all the lights and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday. I’m honestly blown away with how great it was. I will be back and will definitely be recommending. Thank you for such a wonderful night.

Was delighted to find this restaurant open at the beginning of the week when most of the other places in Bungay shut for half of it! It was a really delicious meal, I had calamari for starters which was cooked well and the most delicious chicken Al fredo. My partner had the wild boar ravioli which was also beautiful. The service was fast and friendly. The only grumble we have is that we cannot comment on the main restaurant as we were only allowed in the front snug as the owner said she did not have enough bookings to warrant opening the main area ( which looked very nice from the peek around her I managed to get!) This struck me as a form of punishing customers who DO come and of being pretty rude. Regardless, very good food and service overall, highly recommend. It’s also dog friendly.

We have been three times now and it's been extremely good. Very polite staff, great service and excellent food. Look forward in going back very soon.

As a local to the town we have now been back a few times. Great well mannered staff & a nice atmosphere in a spacious restaurant. The menu is comprehensive with a good selection of Italian inspired dishes all cooked to order. The various choices we have tried so far are all excellent & taste amazing along with the garlic bread which is top stuff!. They also have a good drinks menu on offer with a good selection of beers, wines & cocktails. A good sign of good food is always walking into a packed restaurant which this is. The portion sizes are also good and you wont be leaving feeling hungry. As a host on a local radio station i have no issues with singing the praises of this restaurant to our listeners as we all need to support great local businesses like this especially when we are hungry . So if you are looking for a little gem within a small Waveney Valley town Fiano is the place to go but you must book as it gets very busy at weekends. We’ve been here on multiple occasions and this time came for a birthday meal. We eat out regularly and have to say that everything about Fiano’s is always flawless. From the service, to the drinks and of course the food itself! The cocktails are fantastic and their namesake wine ‘Fiano’, is lovely! The pasta & pizza is the best you’ll find outside of Italy - this is a true gem of Bungay! I couldn’t recommend coming here enough - 10/10!

A lovely restaurant with delicious, tasty food. Everything is freshly cooked, full of flavour and well presented. Sadly the service is poor, the atmosphere is unwelcoming and uncomfortable. You are seated with a menu and then left. No drinks are offered …..until you eventually have your order taken, which is actually quite a miserable experience. It all feels quite dreary.

My wife and I visited last night and we could not have been more impressed. We eat out regularly and eat out at restaurants all over the UK and our favourite cuisine is Italian and this family run restaurant did not disappoint. The venue is nice and intimate, the welcome was friendly and the service was great even though they are desperate for staff… however, the food was amazing. High quality ingredients, large portions and everything piping hot . This is in my opinion the best Italian food we have ever had outside of Italy. Make sure you take some cash for your tip as you can’t add it to your card payment… we didn’t have any cash but will post some to them. Just cross your fingers you can get a table.. book in advance as it gets very busy.

Small, intimate Italian restaurant with some really tasty, well cooked items - friendly staff and obviously very popular! Only downside is the noise level but it wouldn’t stop me going again 😀

If you want excellent food in Bungay, then this is the place to go. We have dined at Fiano a few times and it has always been consistently outstanding. The food is ALWAYS freshly prepared and cooked. There are a few places that serve pizzas but Fiano's pizzas are on a different level!! The portions are generous. The staff always friendly. Currently I cannot fault the restaurant. It is certainly well worth a visit.

Dined at this gem of a restaurant last evening. My meal consisted of a starter, main and coffee. All were delicious. The staff service is timed to perfection and the seating is cosy. I’ve dined in both the front bar as well as main dining room. I can’t wait to go back.

Wonderful food. Good service. Never felt rushed at all. Lovely atmosphere. My se on visit and will definitely be going back.

Congratulations to Agnes & Roger for hosting a fabulous NYE event. We enjoyed it immensely. The food was fantastic, as was the atmosphere. Everyone there seemed to enjoy it as much as we did. There was even the opportunity to see in the New Year whilst dancing! All credit to Agnes & Roger for building up their restaurant/wine bar business from scratch in 2023. We look forward to visiting regularly in 2024.

This place is exceptional. I am writing this review as we finish our meal, which included some exquisite ink squid pasta. In our opinion, it serves the best Italian food anywhere in Suffolk/Norfolk, including some very good restaurants in both Norwich & Bury St Edumnds. The proprietors have worked hard to refurbish the building and build a business in this small market town. The dishes on the menu are selective and made from fresh ingredients. The wine list has something for everyone, too. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We've booked for NYE and are looking forward to it already!

Another fabulous family meal out. We had a mixture of pizza and specials- all the food freshly cooked and it all tasted amazing. Brilliant food and matching service. Would highly recommend to anyone. Also an absolute bargain considering the quality of the food.

Brilliant authentic pizza in a really lovely restaurant with super attentive and friendly staff. Easily the best place to eat in Bungay. The quality of the ingredients is first class and the choice of toppings is much better than your average pizza place. We'll be back!

Omg absolutely amazing food and service from this place, waitresses were attentive and totally on the money and the food was incredible! I am blown away and totally addicted…. Coming again whenever I can.

The small Suffolk town of Bungay is blessed with several classy eateries, but Fiano's is exceptional. Every time we visit it is wonderful, and now there's a daily 2 for 1 cocktail offering between 5 & 7pm. The food us exceptional. Like all good restaurants, the menu is focused on a select range of dishes, although high quality pizzas are also available. The ambience has greatly improved too since the refurbishment was completed recently. The wine list doesn't disappoint either. We like to visit as often as we can, and we both agree that it's the best Italian restaurant we've experienced in either Suffolk or Norfolk, including those in Norwich. Parking is not an issue during the evenings, and the place is conveniently located for a pre-theatre (Fisher Theatre) drink or meal. It's also no more than a 3 min walk from the renowned Green Dragon, so a hearty pizza or pasta dish can be consumed prior to an evening sampling the craft beers at this famous pub!

Four of us had dinner here last night. It was superb, great menu, lovely friendly service, very nice decor. We all enjoyed the food very much and devoured three courses. The only one small thing I would change was the background music, it was a mix of Tina Turner and other pop music which I don’t think was suited to the authentic Italian vibe. Just my opinion.

Fabulous Fiano. Great food, lots of choice, accommodating to your personal taste- brilliant! Cooked after ordering so very fresh. Lovely atmosphere, well priced wines. Easy parking. I had the squid and my husband had arancini, followed by gamberoni and speghetti and pizza which was delicious. The owner is the chef and his lovely wife does fron of house, service was excellent. We couldn't manage the delicious desserts but we will try to do so next time. Will definately be back as this was such a delightful experience.

Had a lovely night out at Fianos this evening with friends. The service was excellent and the food just as good. Couldn't fault a single part about our evening and we wish the business all the success for the future. Will definitely be coming again soon. I have visited this restaurant several times now since it has opened, and haven't been disappointed. The food is delicious, and reasonably priced. Great selection of specials too, and really friendly and welcoming staff. Can't wait to return, a real gem for Bungay!

Fiano has been in Bungay for a few months and we kept hearing some good reports. So we decided to give fianos a try and we're so glad we did. Everything was lovely, decor,background music, the staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent...

Most disgusting response EVER I called to make enquiries about bringing a party of 6 for a birthday meal, the birthday boy being coeliac, so what were their GF options. I was told by the lady who answered the phone that they couldn't guarantee any...

Eating out with the children, so all had pizza. The service was friendly and quick and the food was delicious. The restaurant is stylish and looks beautiful. This restaurant is an asset to Bungay and I will be visiting again.
