Always a delicious meal and inexpensive. I've visited many times for lunch, dinner and afternoon teas and always receive a friendly welcome. I have no hesitation in recommending East for any occasion.

What a truly fabulous old fashioned pub with very welcoming landlady Anni and her customers, especially Janet and Peter, when we joined in Quingo yesterday afternoon. It was thrilling to win the picture quiz. The room was warm and cosy due to its great wood burner stove. The complimentary sandwiches were an added bonus! Thank you so much for the welcome and will join you all again in the New Year.

This really is a lovely place to go for a cuppa and a cake. Situated in the main shopping area of Lowestoft, the Salty Crow is independently run by a very friendly couple and offers a wide range of drinks. The coffees looked delicious - I had the really excellent green tea, probably the best I've ever had - it was so nice, I stayed for another cup! A range of tasty-looking cakes was on offer, and several customers were clearly enjoying them (sadly i didn't have one). A lovely atmosphere, uplifting background music and fun decor. Well-behaved dogs are made very welcome.

Absolute gem of a restaurant. It's quite small (I counted seating for 26) so I would recommend booking. The owner and staff have created a warm, very friendly atmosphere and we were made to feel very welcome. The menu caters extremely well for the majority of diets and everything is freshly cooked. The owner is very helpful and is happy for you to pre-order your choice of meals in advance. This means you don't run the risk of something not being available , which is always a possibility when it's fresh ingredients and cooked to order. We had pizza, tiger prawns and jerk pork burger, all of which were fabulous and the tiramisu dessert is amazing. The level of service was perfect, not rushed, attentive, extremely polite and friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening, Desmond's has just become our first choice restaurant in Lowestoft.

A great community hub. A full on all-inclusion cafe with pottery and all sorts of crafts. BSL cafe too on a Friday morning and certain days a cat therapy time. Ran by a very generous lady and her volunteers. Also a freebie corner or foods is there on certain days. Great coffee and pancakes.

Found Perrys by accident whilst looking up a side road in town. We sat inside and had The special which was small cod chips and a choice of mushy peas curry sauce or beans. Also a tea or coffee or squash and all for only £9.50 Sara the lady who served us was genuinely lovely and the food was fabulous! It certainly wasn’t small so don’t let that put you off, I’ve had large portions in other places that were smaller than this. We will deffo be coming back next time we are in town. Thank you to all the staff.

Never once have we had a bad dish. Customer service is excellent 👌 as well. And the odd few times they forget a part of the order which happens that they rush it out to you really quick no questions asked excellent all round quality and service

I had the pleasure of dining at The Hut, pan Indian cuisine , and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening. The decor beautifully blends traditional Indian elements with modern touches, creating an ambiance that’s both elegant and comfortable. Now, let's talk about the food – it was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and carefully selected. The Venad Palkonch was creamy, rich, and perfectly spiced, while the Chicken Vindaloo had a depth of flavor that transported me straight to the heart of India. The Haryali Chicken tikka was a highlight – smoky, tender, and absolutely delicious. The toddy (Indian Kallu) was refreshing and flavorful blend, with just the right balance of sweetness, spice, and a subtle hint of citrus, making it the perfect drink to complement the meal. Absolutely delicious, just like the ones from Indian Kallu Shaapu. For dessert, the gulab jamun was the perfect sweet finish: warm, melt-in-your-mouth indulgence. The cheesecake was flawless—creamy, rich, and indulgent, with a perfectly crisp crust and just the right amount of sweetness. Pairing everything with their perfectly brewed masala chai was the cherry on top. As for the service, it was impeccable. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. He offered great recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The staff made us feel genuinely welcomed, adding to the overall sense of hospitality that defines Indian dining. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Indian cuisine in a cozy, vibrant setting, this restaurant is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!
