We have had Afternoon Tea on 3 occasions recently, and have been more than happy with the quality of the food and the standard of service provided by Amanda and her team of helpers. The most recent occasion was for a Birthday Celebration for one of our party of 9, and Amanda arranged everything as we had requested. We try to visit here on a weekly basis, and had pre-booked for this occasion. An Afternoon tea is excellent value on any day It is advisable to pre-book a table if possible at almost any time to avoid disappointment as it can get busy at times particularly during school holidays. It is advised to check Opening Times before visiting as they are closed from 1pm on Saturday until Monday morning.

Visited here today for a late birthday celebration and can not fault it. I had never been but I will be back. The afternoon tea was amazing, plenty of food in fact so much cake that we had to have a take away box to enjoy some at home. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. Beautiful little establishment and lovely and clean too. See you soon 👍

I've been a costumer since the shop opened and we never had a bad experience. Amanda and the team are lovely and so welcoming. The cakes and treats are always delicious. We had birthdays get together, baby showers, lunches and just the quick pip in to grab a treat. Highly recommended 🍰☕️

Visited for afternoon tea as a Mothers' Day gift and was extremely impressed. The tea room is very nicely decorated and fairly quirky. The sandwiches were made with gorgeous homemade breads and the sausage rolls/ scones/cakes were absolutely delicious! We also got a top up on tea throughout to no extra cost! Would definitely recommend for afternoon tea or even lunch!

We stopped here during a short walk, and were surprised and pleased to see it so busy on a Saturday afternoon. (It is only a small teashop.) We ordered a Latte each, and then decided to have a slice of cake each -too much!, a slice between us would have been enough! In fact we brought half a slice each home with us, which the owner / proprietor willingly put in a bag for us. The cake was delicious and was very reasonable priced - as was the latte. When the tables were cleared, these were very thoroughly cleaned (which is something that is not very often done these days now that the pandemic has eased). Definitely worth a visit, and we will definitely be visiting again.

A must for holidaymakers and locals. A beautifully presented traditional-style tearoom. Fabulously friendly staff and utterly delicious cakes (we had two each - well, almost- we took what we couldn’t manage home with us). Our drinks, a banana milkshake and a cherryade ice-cream float, we’re exciting and very tasty. Thank you so much Vera G!

Excellent service. As we can't sit in the cafe these days we decided to have takeaway toasties. I sent a message the day before, so that we could collect them on our way to the park for our daily exercise. Everything had been timed to perfection so that the toasties were just about to be packed up and therefore still piping hot. We also had freshly made hot lattés. I can highly recommend Vera G's takeaway service.

Wow. Best afternoon tea I think I've ever had. I've been to many different places but nothing felt as homemade or delicious as this. My husband and his gran and mum when here for a birthday afternoon tea. The waitresses were so friendly and accommodating. My husband and I had a vegetarian tea which was so delicious. Homemade tomato bread was my favourite. Inventive sandwich choices rather than boring cheese and pickle. The veggie sausage roll (cheese and sundried tomato) was so good I nearly asked for the recipe. Fantastic scones and jam/clotted cream and delicious cakes. The meat eaters at the table raved about their food as well. All very good value as well. We will be back. The cakes looked to die for. Oh and the milkshakes were absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for making my grandmother in laws birthday special!

I came here last month with 2 girlfriends and was surprised that somewhere in Lowestoft does sweet waffles like these! I’ve only ever seen them in London! The cafe itself is super cute and decorated very well, staff were friendly and attentive. I would 10/10 come here again, the only grumble I had was the waffles seemed to be shop bought and not freshly made.

As a vegan, I find it hard to eat well out. Not the case at Vera Gs. I had some of the best food EVER when I have visited there.None vegan friends and family are also well catered for too. The range of food and cakes on offer is superb. The atmosphere is homely and welcoming. You almost feel like you having tea with friend. This is the sort of place once you have found it, you are not quite sure whether to keep the secret to yourself. or spread the good news - its that good. Not flashy, not pretentious - just utterly delightful.

Excellent place for a light lunch or afternoon tea. We had booked a table for five of us at lunchtime and had various things to eat, from a bacon roll to waffles (our children's favourite) to toasted sandwiches. All were very tasty and served on old fashioned crockery. The menu is extensive and there's also a specials board. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The service was quick and the prices reasonable. Would highly recommend and will hopefully make a return visit

I love this little cafe hidden in the middle of a residential area. Quaint, country cottage kitchen appearance with very affordable drinks, cakes and snacks. I have been a few times since they opened and like it so much that we now have a monthly writers group meeting there in the evenings. It has developed and grown both in business and facilities since it first opened and it's always busy when I go in. Would definitely recommend it. They even accommodated me and the heroes of my children books at an author book signing event in the holidays.

I had a lovely catch up with friends at Vera gs which is easy to find and is a well thought out space. We had afternoon tea for 3 of us which came with homemade sausage rolls, sandwiches on homemade bread, homemade scones and cakes & rocky road. It was lovely and filling. We also got unlimited tea and coffee. The staff were very helpful and polite which gave the place a great atmosphere. There were also other things on the menu such as breakfast/brunch. Different range of sandwiches, scones, as well of there daily specials. They also cater for people who are on diets such s slimming world as there is healthier options on the menu which are slimming world friendly. Would definitely go back here and recomend it to others to try.

Had seen this little cafe on passing by, so thought we would visit. It's quite quirky but clean and tidy. Tea was a teabag in a mug and coffee was basic...need to invest in a proper coffee machine. Scones were very nice and freshly made. There are better tea rooms in Lowestoft, shame as could do so much better.

We had cream tea and waffles with extra sandwich, would have liked to been given top up of coffee as by the time the food came drinks were nearly gone ,waffles a bit chewy not light and soft also carrot cake not to our liking ,home made bread lovely but bit small if you take of crust ,as one person in our party did as does not eat crust ,pleasant surroundings though and polite friendly staff ,but out of the way ,so would not really be worth us returning, when next in Lowestoft, but was worth a try, will go back to our other tea rooms we love in Lowestoft,

Popped in whilst killing time, must say that it was a very pleasant indeed. Nothing was too much for this lady. Had myself a bacon butty in a freshly made crispy bun. Time was ticking on and should have been away a lot quicker however the attraction of the daily made cakes was to much resist. I subsequently polished a jam sponge and a creamy scone. Went to pay the lady after an hour of reading the local paper, multiple teas and eating, and was surprised to get change from a £10 note. Mission accomplished, left feeling full and very satisfied. I popped by a few days later and asked about an 80th birthday cake, a few days later I was presented with a bowling green cake complete with marzipan figures with so much attention to detail. I felt bad cutting into it at the party, but once again the delicious flavours knocked me for six. As mentioned, a cracking hidden little gem.

What an excellent find, tucked away in the corner of Beccles Common. Our Springer Cookie was first through the door and made very welcome. We sat outside in some very comfy garden chairs had a coffee and tea with a sausage roll and cheese scone, if it wasn’t cheesy enough came with an extra pot of cheese. Both came warm and hit the spot. Service was excellent and very reasonably priced £15 for our delights. Good place for a break after a dog walk although I do feel I would walk out of my way if I was in the area again
