Walked for miles to go for food as advertised as open, dog friendly only to get there and it's shut for business full stop not happy not even sign in windows to say why.

Lovely food and staff however we were very disappointed to find a service charge on the bill and although it says discretionary, it would be embarrassing to ask them to remove it . Tips should be giving freely not be part of the bill. we won’t go again

A Little Gem of a Pub serving Great Wholesome food, lovely Staff nice and friendly, reasonably priced food. We will certainly be returning

Small traditional style pub with a good selection of beers and alcohol. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food menu is a little strange looking but what we had was very tasty and reasonably priced for the area.

Fantastic stay with the family, came here to visit family and explore Cambridge, extremely friendly staff nothing is to much to ask for. Was greeted by Ben upon check in who we came across many times throughout our visit and he made us feel very welcoming. Breakfast was amazing, very fresh and tasty! We can’t wait to return.

I was the DJ for a wedding reception here. Very nice location, Friendly staff. Easy loading in and helpful staff. The conservatory where I was situated is a lovely view for guests while having their meal, with the garden just behind. Rooms available for guests too. 5*

Had an evening meal and the starter was to die for (Bruschetta), just right for the weather, followed by fresh fish and chips. The new chef is top notch and makes the dishes for you, and always checks to see if you are enjoying it. Worth a visit- even if it is enjoying their new coffee shop. Cakes are amazing. Welcome addition to the village and serves all ages.

I can only echo some of the previous reviews on here saying how much Emaeus has changed since my last visit. Previous visits have been a joyful experience in as much as people seemed welcoming and happy in their job/home. They seemed to appreciate the effort one had gone to to take items out to them. A lampshade with a tiny mark on it was refused. Ridiculous!! They don’t seem to want to put the fort in to get a wet rag and wipe it in order to make a sale. The cafe has gone downhill since my last visit. Luke warm breakfast items and mushrooms floating in grey water served up in an environment that has lost its cosy quirkiness in decor using donated items that made Joan’s coffee shop a bit of a weekend destination. The ambiance has gone. Artful jovial displays of donated that brought a smile to one’s face are non existent now. I could go on but I could not wait to leave Emaeus today and did not bother browsing. To sum up it feels when you go there it’s like the donors should be grateful to Emaeus for them deigning to accept an item. I do understand that items should be of a quality for resale as it costs them to dispose of items that do not sell but the choosiness has gone too far in my opinion. The British Heart Foundation are much easier to deal with and will be my preferred choice for item donation and my monetary donation to a homelessness charity will now be St Mungos who are amazing. Come on Emaeus sort yourselves out!

After having spent £50 for a takeaway for 4, to say I am disappointed is an understatement. Shish kebab x 2 with no salad, no sauce, just meat, bread and a spoon of rice. Over cooked burger x 2, in a limp bun and half a box of curly fries. Not a nice feeling when you feel ripped off!

Gone massively down hill. Avoid. They always claim 20 minutes for collection (despite knowing they’re busy and can’t fulfil orders!!) stupidly we believed them and arrive after twenty minutes to then be told we need to wait another 5-10mins. (Fair enough we get they’re busy) … but just under a hour later we’re still sat waiting with no food and so much as an apology or explanation?! We have small children sat at home waiting for their dinner who will now miss their bed times. I get places have off days but this is the third time this has happened now. They've even lost our order previously and then claimed we hadn’t called! I’d much rather them just be honest and say they’re busy with a realistic wait time so we can go somewhere else but they’re far to interested in taking peoples money. The food standard is no where near what it was which is no surprise considering how rushed and unorganised everything is. We also find the staff lack customer service skills and the women really rude. Shame because we use to love it here but will not be returning anymore.

We ordered 2 Family Platters on the evening of 30/03/2025, but unfortunately the chicken was not cooked properly. We’ve been feeling unwell for the last two days after eating it. We’re really disappointed with the experience, and I don’t think we’ll be back again.
