Location is nice, but quite a bit out of town, so it's not easy getting to the town centre. The spa facilities were nice, well-equipped gym. The room was good, but a bit dated, with an electric radiator. I ate in the bar area, decent selection, but I thought it was a bit pricey. Can't comment on main restaurant. This would be a nice place to go and have a relaxing weekend.

We have Just spent 4 nights here .. up from Devon.. and had the best time.. and it’s all down to the lovely staff that made us feel so welcome from Gulcan on reception … She was so welcoming and loved our little jack Russel called Betty.😍.. to ketzia and Brittany who always had a smile Eleanor and Ben and Joel who looked after us every evening .. where nothing was ever too much trouble.. and who just made us feel very relaxed and welcome. The food in the smart restaurant was absolutely amazing .. really superb.. not cheap.. but definitely worth it, and the chef has superb ideas and presentation with delicious food served beautifully.. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order each morning and nothing was too much to ask..and who ever looks after the rooms and housekeeping.. thank you SO much for the attention to detail and the cleanliness and daily biscuits we enjoyed each day 🤩👍Our dog love the peaceful walks around the hotel and we slept soundly ever night.. it was great value for money and a perfect place to stay for a big charity event we were attending at Newmarket Racecourse for 4 days.

Very Disappointing would be my title for this. We got put up here by work. Seeing the word spa in the title and the pictures got us rather excited. On arrival NO phone signal worth mentioning for people yes there is WiFi though. Beds too close together. CHEAP awful toilet roll. No bin bag in bathroom bin or sanitary bags, empty metal tissue box. Lights by bed did not work. Room was cold. Alot of noise from outside. We paid for breakfast on one day that was enough to not go back, coffee was weak, mushrooms stone cold, bacon that cold it was stuck together. Staff members we interacted with were not very confident in what they were doing. We were working nights so sleeping during the day we spoke to reception on arrival about this who said to put the do no disturb out that will be enough.. it was not we were awoken by housekeeping banging on the door until we answered 3 times we tried to say no thank you before having to get out of bed and say no. I’m glad I did not pay to stay here and would not return.

We did not stay at this hotel but did use the spa for a spa day. I have to say it was disappointing for the price we paid (£100 per person for half day). The spa itself is very small and became crowded, the jacuzzi could not fit more than 3 people in comfortably so we were only able to use it once briefly. The pool was okay but basic. Sauna and steam room were small but did the job. The general feel of the spa is very tired. There were a few loungers around the pool area but unfortunately these were incredibly uncomfortable! So much so you could not relax on them for any more than 30 minutes really. The only positive was the treatment and staff, the massage was lovely and the therapist was friendly and professional. The reception staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Dreadful stay from start to finish the place resembles a German stalag with a series of huts . We booked 2 rooms and were told they were next to each other , which I suppose technically they were but in different huts . Went to pay on arrival and couldn't pay cash . Card only . One room we were told had a hot tub and our friends fetched there swimwear only to find it was a jacuzzi bath not a hot tub . Our room was grubby and tired the bedside light didn't work the grout in the shower was black , no slip mat no soap no plastic cups in the bathroom. Booked a table in the waterwheel restaurant and whilst we sat in the lounge looking at menus staff were re setting tables around us as tho they wanted us out of there . My wife and here friend ordered chicken and asked if they could change the green salad to carrots and was told no but after pointing out as extras they were the same price the waitress said she would ask chef and a few minutes later came back and said on this occasion he will allow it . Ffs why not just say no problem . Breakfast was good but cold plates . My wife wanted muesli but they had run out and asked if the other cereal was bran flakes the waitress said she wasn't sure and opened a very grubby cupboard and picked up a packet off the floor and said yes it was . All in all not a great stay , Lord knows how it's 4 star .

We had our wedding at Quy Mill in September. Firstly, I'd just like to emphasise that my negative rating has nothing to do with the bar and waiting staff - they were all incredible and really made the day amazing for us. Although we had a brilliant day, the planning process was horrific. Kayley (operations manager) was absolutely appalling. She clearly needs customer service training at the very least but is also rude and condescending. She lied about the availability of a bridal suite to get ready in with the aim of getting an extra £700 out of us and when I pointed her in the direction of the Facebook post Quy Mill had advertised it in she said it must be old. When I informed her it was posted 2 months prior she then went on to say it would be too small. We chose to go with this option anyway and found it had plenty of space for us all to get ready. We had numerous issues with emailing back and forth as her communication was severely lacking and she seemed to enjoy withholding information. With less than 3 months until the wedding we spoke on the phone and she said she could tell I wasn't very happy. When I voiced my concerns, rather than try to work with me to fix them, she told me I could just cancel the wedding!!! Nevermind the months of planning, guests invited, vendors and suppliers booked, who would possibly want to cancel their wedding 10 weeks out!? When our final invoice was sent about 1 month before the wedding I couldn't make sense of the figure they'd come to so I asked for a breakdown of the costs. An entire day spend emailing and talking on the phone and the figure eventually dropped by over £1000! So I strongly advise that any couple who has already had their wedding at Quy has a good look over their invoices, as I had to continue to fight after being given 4 different quotes as they still couldn't explain to me how they got to that figure. When we finally settled on the one that did make sense, I wasn't even given an apology. On the evening of the wedding, our bestman was in his room when a wedding guest let themselves in as he had asked reception for a key card for the room and they issued it without question. This is both disgusting and terrifying as there were lone women and women with children staying and they clearly don't check who they are giving key cards to! Again, the bar and waiting staff were brilliant on the day and the food was incredible. It is just a shame that the whole wedding build up was tarnished by Kayley's lack of people skills and general disinterest in anything other than making money.

Visited this spa recently to use a mother's day present. We booked a treatment, which was very pleasant with lovely staff but that was really the only good thing. The spa facilities are essentially a bland and unexciting swimming pool, a jacuzzi and a sauna. The swimming pool was so cold I couldn't get in - estimate it was a touch below 25 degrees, so better for those who enjoy colder water. This is fine if planning to do fast swimming but not what I expect from a relaxing spa trip. The jacuzzi was warm but small and had a lot of froth from high chlorine content. I didn't use the sauna. Seats around the pool area were few in number and 'bagged' in classic German holiday style by people barely using them. Some seats are located in a pleasant window area with a view of the little millstream though a direct view from there to the A14 does leave a bit to be desired. The seats were also extremely uncomfortable. There was no lounge for having a hot drink or snack after using the facilities either, only a handful of plastic tables and chairs in an unwelcoming reception area. Nothing about this experience was luxury or spa-like. I think if you plan to use this place as your regular exercise spot that would make it much more appealing but don't book if you want to relax and feel pampered.

I was due to have afternoon tea at the Quy Mill on Saturday 6th July for a joint hen with the ladies I work with. The money had all been paid 2 weeks before. Unfortunately I tested positive for Covid the week before and within days several others that were due to attend the afternoon tea also caught covid. As we all work in a hospital environment we are not supposed to socialise and spread the infection between us. With this being the case, the lady that arranged the afternoon tea called to ask if we could reschedule as both brides had covid and wouldn't be able to attend. We didn't want a refund we just wanted to move the date so that everyone could attend. To which we were simply told no rescheduling and no refunds. So not only have myself and the other bride missed out on our hen, those that were due to go and couldn't because they were unwell have lost their money. We certainly won't be booking here for afternoon tea in the future.

Arriving was slightly confusing as I missed the turning off the junction so would benefit from better signage. Carpark was spacious. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and had everything needed and a comfortable bed only slight issue was the room was a little cold. The pool was really nice and so we're the staff at the pool. Sadly the steam room was out of order but the rest of the facilities were great. The breakfast in the morning was excellent fresh brewed coffee for the table a beautiful continental buffet and a good range of hot cooked options. The waffles and bacon were lovely. Would recommend and would stay again if back in Cambridge.

Evening meal & drinks we were looked after Pete who could not do enough. He spent the whole evening running around taking orders, collecting drinks from bar, serving food & clearing tables as well has having to manage people arriving & telling them to sit in bar until ready. This restaurant in hotel needs more staff. This is why I have only given 4 stars. But this is no reflection on Pete as he was 10/10. Swimming pool & spa was nice. Changing rooms clean & u need £1 coin for lockers. All in all a great place for a nights get away. Plus the sun was shining

A really nice afternoon tea, that was overshadowed by the lack of service, due a wedding. The food and tea was amazing, all looked the part and the macaroons in partocular were great. But apart from receiving the food and drink, there was no service for 2 hours. Can understand that the attention was needed for the wedding proceeding, but someone popping in to ask if everything was OK or if more drinks may have been needed, would have heightened the experience.

Agree with quite a few of the reviews here. Very outdated and not the cleanest facilities. It was cleaner in the morning rather than the evening though. Does feel more like a leisure centre than a spa. Pleasant stay. Breakfast was good and staff are friendly enough. The spa facilities do need updating and a really deep clean. If you can book this place at a low/discount price and set your expectations low you'll have a nice time, I just wouldn't describe it as 'luxury'.

We had a half-day spa experience on a Sunday for £100 involving a 30 minute spa treatment and use of the facilities. In reality, this is not a spa, it has the look and feel of an average leisure centre (nothing like the photos online). The changing rooms are very basic. The pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna are not luxurious at all and would barely classify as 3 star. The spa treatments we had were excellent but the rest of the experience was disappointing and not worth the money.

The staff members, from reception to dining, were friendly but completely untrained and inept in customer service. Example: when we arrived early and asked to check in, we were told we were too early. There was no nicety in the receptionist’s manner. The system was completely shut until 3 pm, so you couldn’t to do anything before that: no form-filling, no paying for the dogs. Not good enough for this type of hotel. At the bar-area restaurant there was haphazard table service. We had to keep asking for cutlery, serviettes, etc. Although the food was good, the service was like Faulty Towers! Another example: between 10:30 and 11:30, it wasn’t possible to get coffee because there was no staff available. The property itself is tired, and cleanliness was not where it should be. When I told reception that our room was clean but hadn’t been vacuumed, there was very little response. The spa was similarly average. The flotation treatment was relaxing (it felt like lying still in an inflated hammock with an eye pillow on) but there was next to no massage, so I felt the description was misleading. When this was raised, there was no answer from staff. The people who work at this hotel all seem apathetic, like they’re just barely coping, and the lack of management can really be felt.

Stayed here for 1 night with friends. I was a bit wary after seeing some reviews for this hotel, but I'm pleased to say it was lovely. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly when we checked in. We were a bit early but she went and checked if our rooms were ready. The reception area is clean and inviting. The room was lovely and clean. A big bed with crisp white sheets. A good bathroom with a walk in shower, plenty of towels and toiletries. The shower was lovely and powerful. Good comfortable chairs and a decent sized tv. The only thing was the window frame had mould on it, but the room didn't smell damp and certainly didn't affect our stay. We went out for our evening meal but came back to the bar afterwards. The barman was very friendly and the bar area was full of comfortable chairs and sofas. Then back to the room for a good night's sleep. As for breakfast it was delicious. I had waffles and bacon. Yum! Plenty of choice for everyone, both hot and cold options. All in all a very pleasant stay. I'd definitely recommend.

WARNING ⚠️ AVOID⚠️ firstly must say the room was lovely, clean and a beautiful design very cozy. Unfortunately the breakfast service was atrocious. Wrong order and cold. Also no milk and became a joke amongst other guest as everyone was pitching in to find some milk and serve ourselves. The continental was empty and that was only halfway through breakfast. Did ask at reception but they made it clear it wasn’t there department. Paid a considerable amount for breakfast and didn’t get a breakfast and did mention this at check out but they refused to cancel a charge for something we didn’t receive as they stipulated they would charge the card booked with. Spa facilities were out of order at the time of our stay which was not mentioned prior to booking or arriving STRONG WARNING TO AVOID THIS PLACE But not Cambridge. Lovely place great area and nice places to visit. Just not this one unfortunately ⚠️

Came a couple of weeks ago and had the Sunday roast which was lovely, decent portions and good price so decided to come back today. The kids meals were good and they enjoyed it, the wife's meal was also good but my beer batter cod (£13) was just two small pieces of fish tail, 26 skinny chips, dry lemon and spoonful of peas. I actually thought it was a kids portion. I do have to say the staff was apologetic and helpful and offered a refund or different meal. I'd definitely come back for the Sunday roast but not a week meal. PS: Make what you want of the onion rings and the wife's coleslaw
