The best restaurants in Hitchin Bearton North Hertfordshire East of England

We were very excited to try out Sam’s pizza after reading good reviews however despite staff being lovely the food was extremely bland and lacked toppings. The crust was rock hard and felt like it had been sitting there a while. Overall nice place but not worth the insane price. Additionally the whole building was filled with flies.

I've tried a number of their sandwiches, but the salad boxes are my thing, they really do fill them a treat. It's not often one can say that a salad is filling, but theirs are, well, when they have the fillings that I like. Well worth a go.

Best cakes ever. Great brownies and omelettes are to die for. Polite friendly little cafe very handy for quick work lunch especially as I pre ordered

This is possibly the most welcoming cafe in Hitchin, which is why we return regularly. The staff are great, the food is lovely (such a selection) and the price is not typical of Hitchin pretentiousness! Highly recommended.

Asked server if I could swap the rice for chips, was told by her I wanted extra chips, explained 3 times then she called another server over and said I wanted a curry I said I didn’t want chips and same again, cancelled order and was asked if I wanted the curry still very poor service won’t be eating here again

Fabio's is the perfect spot for a Sunday treat with the kids! I took three children for ice cream, and we were all impressed by the wide selection of flavors and the incredibly fresh taste. The lovely weather made it ideal for grabbing our cones and strolling around town. The staff was quick and efficient, which is essential on a hot summer day when the shop is buzzing with customers. Overall, Fabio's is definitely a great choice for a family outing—highly recommend it!

Had breakfast here and it was just lovely. The outside of this place may not looking appealing but this is a nice little find. Welcoming staff and prices are very reasonable. Thumbs up from me 👍

I held my Birthday party here - 25 people. Staff and food were excellent.

After trying the fried chicken and the coleslaw from PB, KFC can stuff theirs where the sun don't shine. Top quality food every time, missus loves the peri peri strips, rice, salad and wraps that are just as good. The burgers are lovely too with a smoky chargrilled flavour. Always turns up when they say it will too. Look forward to PB night every week! :-) (EDIT 06-06-25) In view of my previous edit stating that the Southern Fried Chicken had become too spicy to eat, and the very helpful reply from PB about the fryer problem that has now been resolved, I can confirm that the chicken is back to being the best-tasting around. Rating reinstated to 5 Stars - one VERY happy regular customer :-)

Very reasonably priced and tasty food. Some of the drinks were on the expensive side and not as pleasant but service was amazing and the atmosphere/cleanliness was great also. Overall lovely visit!
