The food I had was so tasty, the chicken was so tender and the flavours melted in my mouth. I don’t normally eat in pubs but will be back

Attended a mate's birthday party here. The service was fantastic. The finger food was excellent - scotch eggs, hand cut chips as well as fries, cucumber, hummus, taziki, cured meats. There was 2 for 12 on spritzers.

Fantastic pub, brilliant tasty food and drink selection. The quiz on Thursdays is great fun, I highly recommend it if you’re a fan of a pub quiz. So happy it has a new lease of life. It has a lovely garden which is a suntrap and a great seating area out the front which is the perfect place to watch the world go by. Get yourselves down there, you won’t be disappointed ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Such an amazing pub and restaurant. We’ve been in a few times and taken part in the quiz night which is great fun, and also had quite a few meals there. Thoroughly recommended if you’re nearby and need some good food.

Was ok, disappointed to have received no roast potatoes though.

We booked for a family meal including small children, and we weren't disappointed. I asked for a table to watch the football and we had a great table by the massive TV screen which made for a great atmosphere. The food was amazing and very well priced, we all had Sunday roasts and they were all fantastic and the kids portion was big and they loved it. Two hand pumps and good beer on each time we've been. You can tell that a lot of money and effort is being put into the place to change it into a proper destination pub. Great location, very close to the town centre and there is a big carpark round the corner that is free on Sundays!

Really relaxing, great food and service!

I didn’t enjoy the food at all, potatoes weren’t cooked great and they was put in with veg so they are soggy and they taste of red cabbage, just not a nice flavour overall and the mozzarella sticks weren’t nice. Really disappointed and most will be wasted 😢

This pub is great, highly recommend a visit. Hadn't been here before but wanted to use my tastecard! Service was really good, made to feel welcome and even changed our chairs for really comfy ones! The food was delicious.

The Albert has had a facelift to pep it up a little inside. Good selection of beers including some craft ales and small brewery options. Food was tasty.

Popped into the albert today on a wim to find it had been nicely referbished and that there is a new food menu. Tried the beef briskett which was incredible would strongly recommend to any one looking for good hearty pub food, friendly welcoming staff, brilliant value for money and as always a lovely pint of guiness.

Pub interior recently had a bit of a face lift, which has brightened up the pub nicely. We came to try the new menu, and had a delicious Sunday roast (£14.50 a roast, which I think is very well priced). We both had the pork belly & crackling, which came with very tasty accompanying veggies, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Staff lovely and attentive as always, would highly recommend a visit if you’re looking for a down to earth Sunday roast.

I enjoyed a lovely roast chicken Sunday lunch here, which coincided with a 2 for 1 cocktail offer. They are a pub not a cocktail bar, so they only have one cocktail on offer . Today's cocktail of the day was a Bloody Mary.

Disappointing food fir Mother’s Day. Yorkshires were cold, roast potatoes and carrots uncooked. Dessert still frozen.

We had a delicious sunday roast and we were stuffed afterwards as the portions were quite big. The atmosphere was a bit cold but it was pleasant enough to enjoy our meal and a few drinks afterwards.

Can not believe how much this pub has changed. Used to play pool here when it was spit and sawdust. Now quite a trendy vibrant pub, not my style of pub but should last a few years now. Good choice of craft beer

I've been to this beautiful place and it was a great idea. The people who work there are very kind and the food really good. I hope to return soon. Really a great pub to visit. Thank you very much The Albert for your kind service.

Great pub with Inch’s cider on draught, which is my current favourite cider.

Haven't been here in a number of years and was very impressed how it is today. I had intended to walk straight past but was intrigued by the Kylie Minogue/Club Bangers tribute act blaring out on a Saturday afternoon (provided by the wonderful Becky Briar Rouge, I hope I have that correct). The ambiance for such a time of day was absolutely fantastic with everyone there seemingly having a good time. The cider (Inch's) and numerous cocktails (Negronis) I had were spot on. The staff were attentive and working very hard throughout the afternoon, my biggest compliments go to them. I didn't partake so can't comment on the food side but apparently they have a bottomless brunch every Saturday; I'm sure the necking prosecco aspect will satiate many people's appetites. Great drink. Great entertainment. Great atmosphere and excellent staff. Well worth the 5 stars.

I stopped at the Albert Inn with 1 of my elder sons and my youngest daughter by chance on our way home today, we were all hungry, the Tiny little pub has a friendly atmosphere, the staff were friendly and welcoming, we ordered a burger and fries as they are 50% off mon-wed.. I had the plant based cheeseburger, my kids had a bacon cheeseburger, the food was amazing, mine was so good I had to check they hadn't cooked me a meat burger by mistake..lol the service was excellent as we only waited around 10 minutes for our food, the drinks were ice cold and served straight away and the prices are very affordable, The Albert Inn is a hidden little gem in Hitchin, we will be back again.. Oh and I highly recommend the waffles with ice cream, white chocolate sauce and maple syrup, if you have room after your meal, they were Banging!!! Thank you for an awesome dinner..

Been a regular for years. Great ambiance, friendly staff. Food is great and there's alway a well kept ale on a pump.

Puppy-approved. An excellent neighbourhood pub with a great selection of crowd-pleasing draughts, several rotating taps of craft and local brews, as well as an excellent menu. You can't go wrong with discount nights during the week, as well as pub quizzes and live music nights. Great atmosphere and service, to boot.

I just want to thank all the great staff and management at the Albert. Our MTB club arrived tired and hungry last Thursday evening and the kitchen staff went out of their way to make sure we all had something to eat. The burgers and fries were absolutely amazing. Thanks again for looking out for us.

Nice little boozer, good alfresco action

Beer selection was great, they even had a double IPA on tap. I've been in Hitchin for 7yrs and this is the first time I've ever visited. Great courtyard beer garden as well. It was pretty quiet for a bank holiday Saturday but I suspect this was because the Victoria was hosting it's annual Vicfest which was filled to the rafters. This place deserves to do well.

Phenomenal food, fast service, staff are friendly and attentive, great music, sweet little pub dog as well. Couldn't ask for a nicer venue to enjoy a bank holiday!

Absolutely fantastic place, Roast Dinners to die for , belly pork crispy, beef brisket , Roast Chicken, homemade Toasties & homemade Yorkshire puddings. Staff are Excellent The menu is different , a few starters, a few mains & a few desserts, what more do you need , Beers,IPA ales & wines & shots Available, Cmon , try it out , see what u think

Food arrived fast, but the burger, was undercooked. My wife is ok with a little rare but this was red and cold in the middle, Tried to call but no answer. Will not order from here again.

Normally really happy with roasts from here but today I’m not. Arrived cold. With only 3 tiny burnt roast potatoes and over cooked Yorkshire pudding no red cabbage. For £16 it is not worth the money at all

Delicious food and good value with half price mains. Would recommend the burgers and fish and chips. Also good service staff very accomadating and could do enough to help. Also the resident sausage dog Rufus is a big bonus.

I had a lovely time there. I follow an ibs diet so it was a bit difficult but they tried their best for me. I'm proud of them. I also treated myself to a delicious glass of wine.

Just got home after a fabulous live music event in the beautiful outdoor space of this fantastic pub. Great drinks, service and food. Just lovely. Go!!

Very tasty bacon cheeseburger, and great chips. Nice dining experience. A bit pricey but I guess it was because of covid, so it's understandable and acceptable.
