We struggled to pay the booking fee to reserve our table for Mother's Day as the waiter said there was a problem with the email system and he would send us a text instead. He kept forgetting to do this, so we had to keep chasing him to send the link; after our fourth phone call over two days and our offer to pay over the phone, the link message was finally sent. I asked about the start time of the live music, as this was one of the main reasons we had booked, in addition to the great reviews about the food here. I was told the music starts at 5:00 pm, only to discover, on arrival, that this was the time it finished. We decided that there might have been a miscommunication, so we didn't complain, as the waiters were so friendly. However, we then waited a very long time for our main meal; my husband said he noticed people coming in after we had ordered, and they were getting their mains before us. I had heard locally that the roast dinners were great here, so we all ordered chicken roast. When this arrived, the food was piled high on a plate that was too small, so we couldn't see half of it until we moved the top layer. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing, the worst roast I have had to date. The two potatoes were undercooked and massive; the vegetables were too hard; the chicken was dry; and the gravy was bland. I have never left a bad review at a restaurant before, but I feel the existing reviews misled us.

The food here is exceptional; it's an excellent choice, and they offer lunchtime deals for two or three courses. While it's a bit more expensive, you won't be disappointed. It's wonderful for family celebrations and large groups, and the staff are lovely and attentive. It's best to book in advance, as it's very popular.

First time visiting - wasn’t even aware this place existed. And honestly everything tasted amazing

Always Great to return to the Pub, moved away some time ago however on visits back to Harlow, we will always spend an evening here. Real Pub with proper people. Be aware though Bills “Dad” jokes are from Christmas crackers 😂

Wonderful service as always staff and students very polite and friendly. Food was superb steaks were absolutely amazing. Had a lovely lunch with our daughter. Highly recommend and such great value.

Probably the worst Indian I've had since the 1980s. Just poor quality cold food mafe worst by putting it in the microwave to heat it up. Don't order form here!!!!

I have to say , this is the best Chinese food around! It’s always so fresh and delicious. I just wish it was nearer as I travel from another part of Essex. Definitely worth a visit

Went here for a breakfast no salt or pepper or any thing on tables paid £9 for a breakfast no tea or coffee inc was very basic food and not much of it. I have had many breakfast.s all over and this was the worst so far

We went here for a quick late lunch. The service from Sue was good - very attentive and quick service of food and drinks. Unfortunately, we faced some problems with the food as the salmon I was served was quite undercooked and had to be sent back and I found a hair in my meal. Some more quality control would have given this a higher score for me.

Wow wow wow what a gem! Food and service here was absolutely spot on, 10/10 I would happily come back to try everything on the menu

I must say it is a lovely venue and booked after the great reviews and at short notice The service lacked a bit 3 people seemed to be waiting on several tables and had a long wait between courses Great atmosphere but my partner was a bit miffed when my glass of wine was topped up and his wasn’t Oppps TBH my beef dish was a bit chewy and our sides were delivered after we had eaten most of our mains The fish dish was amazing said partner so 50/50 review

RE HYGIENE ISSUES in a van one assumes is to be used for FOOD ITEMS Twice I have seen a Cozens Van loading goods normal household goods into it including a mattress each time the driver & assistant were the same to describe them 2 males & dark skinned and probably using the van to do private work

Pretty mixed experience - between two of us we had six of the tapas options. A couple of them were very nice (Cauliflower especially good and also enjoyed the Patatas Bravas) but most were somewhere between poor and mediocre. The squid was pretty obviously frozen and the prawns were fairly tasteless in a very anaemic sauce. Also took around 45 minutes to arrive (although granted it was a saturday evening). Place felt somewhat short staffed as well and found the decor a bit odd, as though someone had been to a car boot sale/charity shop and purchased every cheap painting they could find and put it up in any old random order. Very weird. Overall not the best and probably won't be back, but there were some decent dishes and it wasn't inedible just not great.
