Two Greedy Pigs in Harlow

Chef stormed out mid service (18:30 on a Saturday evening) left 2 young waitresses to deal with the fallout. It was appalling to be honest 🤦🏻‍♀️ I understand being a chef can be a stressful job, but the restaurant only had 2 groups of 2 people waiting plus myself for takeaway. Apparently they were backed up with JustEat orders. Surely something needs to change? I think you can pause taking online orders for a bit if you are too busy? But the restaurant tables weren’t even full, what if it was? The chef was shouting and complaining already when I arrived at 18:00, the waitress kindly let me know there would be a 40 min wait. I understand restaurants are a bit busy on Saturday so I’m happy to wait. However the Chef then shouted through to a waiting customer “sorry we are not talk your order I’m going home mate”. We could hear him shouting at JustEat delivery drivers too basically saying if you want fast food go to McDonald’s. Which I thought was a bit unprofessional as we could hear everything. But then at 18:30 he stormed out actually got in his car and drove off with everyone in the restaurant watching and two young waitresses shocked and not sure what to do. Sophie (who I believe is only 15) came through to the restaurant and said sorry everyone we can’t serve you because the chef’s walked out. She did so well considering the situation she had been left in. She’s got a lot of confidence and good customer service which was the only saving grace about this whole experience. I asked her if I could have a refund, and she said she wasn’t sure how to process it. So at this point, I have been waiting 30 minutes, spent £50 and not sure if I was gonna get it back or any food. She offered me a partial refund for the food that hadn’t been made yet, her and the other waitress was kind enough to make part of my order. She offered me a free drink, but I had already paid for one so took it but it wasn’t free. Honestly this was one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever seen at any restaurant, as the windows and doors were all open we saw and heard everything. As I mentioned earlier I understand being a chef might be a stressful job, but surely there are better ways of going about things, at the very least staying to support the waitresses close down the restaurant. They must’ve lost quite a bit of business this evening. Not a great first impression, the food was ok - but this has really put me off going back.

Unplanned spontaneous visit after family go-karting session. Rocked up , very friendly& helpful staff , great food across the menu for this family group 5 adults and two aged 12 and under. Will return again . Great food , great service, very convenient . Provided by people who take what they do seriously .

Food was absolutely incredible. Inhaled everything! They even offered us 4 banana splits on the house. Great service :) the staff were so polite and cheerful. Made the visit all the more enjoyable. will happily come again.

10/10 food was incredible, the platter was very generous, ribs fell off the bone and home made bbq sauce had a great flavour. Heaters above the tables are great when it's not bit chilly. Home made hot sauce had the perfect heat! I can't wait to come back!

What a place !!! From walking in I was made to feel really welcome by (owners) staff, I watch other peoples coming out with dribble running down the side of my mouth, I got a burger with chips ( the source/oil) option was the best thing I said yes too, He made me mac and cheese which looked really good but unfortunately I don’t like it, but going of how the rest taste it will be the best you had!! If I coming down the m11 I will now definitely be pulling off to have my tea here, The price is definitely cheap, McDonald’s around 15 pounds which is plan and you hungry after 5 min, Two gready pigs around 17 pounds and get food that is amazing and definitely has filled a 6 ft 3 bloke.

Unfortunately even 4* is being generous. Firstly the area to sit down is pretty much an outside, very cold even with the heated lamps. So we had to take our food away. Just something for people to be aware of. The food, large portions especially mac and cheese. However what really disappointed us - everything really lacked flavour. We got two different burgers and quite a few sides and absolutely everything just tasted bland. It’s wasn’t bad, but just not great either. Milkshakes which we were very excited about. Also disappointed us. Didn’t even finish mine (which never happens btw) it was just too milky, no creaminess.

Absolutely brilliant, they had ran out of brisket. I had to go for a burger and a chicken wrap, it was really tasty and good portions!

Went there today with the family to celebrate my birthday. The place is amazing decor is off the chain, now the food, we had the wings 1 hot 2 bbq and one burnt ends(that comes with spicy beans, slaw and mac and cheese) a rack of ribs and two portions of dirty loaded chunky chips, 2 custom milkshakes and two cans of drink....all for £83. The food was amazing melt in your mouth and ready quite fast. Staff very attentive asking questions etc Portions are huge, extremely filling. Will definitely be back and I'll let friends and family know about this hidden gem in Harlow. Thank you for a fantastic meal.

I visited last night and thoroughly enjoyed the food, everything was delicious and it met my high expectations. I had the hot chicken wings with a blue cheese dip, delicious and plenty of them, and the hot sauce left a tingle in my mouth. Then I had the burnt pork ends, mac and cheese, smoky beans, coleslaw and the dirty fries. The pork was amazing, super succulent and very tasty, it melted in my mouth. The coleslaw, mac and cheese beans and fries were all first class, and I can quite happily recommend them all. My mate had a chicken burger and said it was possibly the best burger he's ever eaten. If I'm ever in the area again, there's only one place I'm heading to eat and it's The Two Greedy Pigs. Absolutely fantastic.

Don't normally post reviews often, but had a poor experience here. The staff was rather unprofessional, looking into her phone while we were requesting the order. Also, the portion size for the wings were low and got only 4 wings rather than the 5 advertised. Response to the owner who replied: "Just to be clear, it's obvious to know if someone's using their calculator app on their phone or not. You don't need to be up-to-date for that. You're missing the point. It's courtesy to not use a phone while taking orders. Only ordered one item from the menu anyway so I have no clue why you need a calculator for that. And I don't know how you can say that I received a bigger portion size? It was an honest feedback from my end and not something that I need to lie about. But if that's how you want to respond, I am totally fine with that too."

My fiancee and I ordered the BBQ wings and the Cajun burger and I can honestly say, without hyperbole, that it was the best chicken I have ever eaten. The homemade BBQ sauce is in a league of its own and the chicken is so juicy and melt-in-your-mouth I wanted to order a second one if I didn't need the room for Christmas! Coupled with incredible friendly and helpful staff and that cozy USA diner atmosphere, and you have a hidden gem of a restaurant. It should come as no surprise that we will be coming back!

Best bbq I've ever had in the UK. Nothing short of phenomenal burnt ends and wings. Everything was fresh and piping hot. Wings served with blue cheese and celery in true American style. Beans, Mac n Cheese and coke slaw all delish! 1 mark off on atmosphere simply because it was cold inside. Could do with a small heater to make things feel more cozy. Otherwise loved everything about it.

Went for the first time last week. 2 adults and 2 kids (8 and 13) we normally find one of us struggling to order what we qant/ fancy but not that night. The choice was brilliant, food tasted amazing and the value was well worth the trip.

A wonderful greeting and explanation of how to order, they were able to adjust the brisket into a side order, the food arrived in good time and was piping hot and fresh. The burger with bacon was super and the chips crispy as per my preference. The brisket was tender and tasty. My friend had similar with the addition of hot wings. The show stopper was the Biscoff milk shake though. Prices were very fair and the parking ample. A very good experience thank you. M

I discovered this place a couple of months back, whilst waiting to deliver to the supermarket opposite. Me my partner and daughter was at a loose end this weekend so decided to give it a go. Food was stunning, friendly atmosphere, great service and decent value. 60mile round trip, totally worth it and will definitely be going back.

Congratulations you have found the best food in harlow. Have had a vue meals from them now and can honestly say every bite has been beautiful. Ribs that fall of the bone, massive juicy burgers and triple cooked chips 😍 not to mention the amazing staff who are already for a lovely chat ( even remembering my holiday last year) . So do yaself a favour and give them a go you won't be disappointed.

Oh my god If I lived closer it be dangerous lol Came all way from Thurrock from seeing pics of food on Instagram/facebook.. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I had brisket burger literally fell apart so beautiful! Partner ordered 8oz burger with bacon n cheese equally beautiful! Daughter had 4oz burger and we had garlic and rosemary chips! Hot chicken wings which are beautifully spicy! 🌶️ root beer, cokes and banana fritters! And my daughter had a biscoff milkshake! Lovely! 🥰 just shy of £60! I’ve paid waaaaay more in a harvester which isn’t great food and this felt and tasted soooooo authentic! Definitely going back! Thankyou!!!

We went for the brisket burger, dirty chunky chips, pesto chips and halloumi, it did not disappoint, a very generous burger and the halloumi was stunning, really good quality ingredients used. The eat in area was so clean and the staff members were very attentive and polite. We will be returning for sure!

We went for a family outing, 3 burgers 2 chips drinks and mac and Cheese came out around £45. Which I think is reasonable. Food was amazing, staff was friendly. Deco was on point. All and all a lovely place highly recommend

amazing food honestly i don't give reviews lightly but this place has become my second home,, very fair priced and always consistently good tasty food they have things you just can't find anywhere else,, highly recommend the platter, corn dogs and chilly beef dogs mmmm yummy

While my recent experience didn't quite meet my expectations, I wanted to share both the positives and the areas for improvement. The seasoning on the meat had a strong cumin flavor that wasn’t to my taste, although I understand that seasonings can be subjective. Unfortunately, the mayonnaise was decent, but the ketchup had a sugary quality that felt a bit cheap to me. Perhaps I just had an off visit, since many others have enjoyed the bugers here, and I had been looking forward to trying the ribs. However, after this experience, I'm hesitant to return. On a more positive note, the service was friendly and welcoming, and the chips were quite enjoyable. I hope the kitchen can refine their flavors, as there’s definitely potential here.

This place has been on my list of places to eat for a while and didn't disappoint - really good value considering the portion size and the quality. Milkshakes are excellent. The decor inside is fun and unique. Deserves the high ratings and is well worth a visit.

Had lots of recommendations for here for hubby’s birthday meal and it did not disappoint! Super friendly staff. Lots of options to suit all appetites. The portions are big, heard others asking for take home pots, haha!! Spicy wings ARE spicy. Burgers and pulled pork burger are so juicy. Be prepared to make a mess whilst eating! Will go back

Brisket burger was atrocious chips were full of full grease spicy wings had teaspoon of franks hot sauce on I wouldn’t recommend this gaff unless you want week of work I’ve currently sitting in petrol station toilet as I don’t make it home don’t make same choice as me as I got serious ring sting stay way at all costs

Had the brisket burger which was so good, absolutely loaded with brisket, so make sure you have something to clean your hands after, it's a messy one! Coleslaw also a great compliment to the brisket. Can also recommend the dirty chips for those who like a bit of spice. Would absolutely recommend

Been wanting to try this local eatery for a while, waited until the weather was a bit nicer to eat in. Really friendly and attentive service with excellent food, and a real attention to detail. We had the Cajun Chicken Burger, the Brisket Burger and shared the Loaded Chunky Chips. So much flavour! The chicken was slightly overcooked, but it was still lovely. My other half said the Brisket was impeccable, and those chips - so hot and crispy with the cheese and bacon, lovely! Will definitely be back to try some more of their extensive menu.

We had a craving for some real burgers and it did not disappoint, food was great. Warm and freshly made. Mac and cheese, burgers, chips, everything was great. Kids loved the milkshakes too. I truly recommend to give it a go if you're in the area.

Update! New cook My burger was dry and stiff not the same as before the favours are there just not the juicy bit the ribs are always good Just had ribs there tonight soooo good. Real food home made flavorful BBQ sauce, Ribs, Belly Pork and Bergers using proper quality meats. If you have one of their 8oz burgers You will never go back to macD's ever again

It amazes me how so many people in these areas have given high ratings??? Hyped waste of money bland food, and where was the spice? a joke of a place. No not a fake review you really are delusional, your food is bland and you can't cook, one star far exceeds your worth. So now you see why noone is queuing up for your food? I am sure many don't return, also I was not alone we all agreed how tasteless it was just look at photos on reviews will show how bad it looks. Gourmet food hahaha, its really bad food.

Visited here, ordered food for takeaway. Staff were really friendly and gave me some Info on the menu. Lovely little seating area, will defo come back and sit in next time. We had a selection of things including brisket, spicy burger, greedy burger and Mac n cheese, also had a mars shake. All food was delicious. Still nice and hot even after our 15 minute journey home. Hubby did say be mindful of the spicy burger, the hot sauce (which I was informed was homemade) certainly has a kick! Looking forward to returning in the near future!

Just come back from here, keep driving past and decided to give it a try. The best food we have eaten in a long time, these people sure can cook authentic American style food. The pork belly with cinnamon was to die for as was the Mac and Cheese and home made coleslaw. Loved sitting in, so much thought gone into it and super polite.

Consistently the best American-style smokehouse restaurant in the area. Been here half a dozen or so times now by myself and with family. Two Greedy Pigs punches way above its weight with the quality of food. The building itself isn't much more than a shed attached to the kitchen, with benches and some bar seats, but it's cosy, there's some great smells which arise from the smoker in the corner (a craftily converted filing cabinet) and it's got a very classic Americana vibe. Burgers are solid and satisfying, hot wings pack a punch without being overwhelming, brisket and pulled pork sometimes runs low on busy days (it's really good), chunky style chips paired with a variety of flavoured oils. There's a few specials in rotation outside the core menu, meal deals and platters for sharing. There's not a wealth of non-meat options, however, the vegan friendly felafel and mushroom offering is absolutely on-par with the carnivore menu. The homemade cheesecake, by the way, is lush. Have had the opportunity to be there when the owner was in, he's a pretty gregarious lad to chat to and I wish the team here every success.

Absolutely brilliant food and a surprising amount of themed decor for such a small location. Well worth the wait and the money. I had their pulled brisket sandwich and my partner had a spicy double burger and both were incredible. The corn dogs we also had were serviceable and predictably heavy, with a intriguing strong honey mustard sauce.

Accidently stumbled upon this place after a trip to the range. Its street food looks a little misleading. A few of us turned up and the place was surrounded by bikes and mint american cars. Service was prompt and very friendly, I think family run. We couldn't resist the best burgers available in harlow for certain. And surprisingly great value. We left happy and full. We will be back !!!The only negative is that after writing this review I'm clucking for seconds.

Went on valentines evening. Really enjoyed our food. We even got treated to a snickers milkshake. The guys had just bought a new machine, and they came round with chocolate covered strawberries as well.
