The best restaurants in Lambourne Epping Forest East of England

My family go to the Blue Rooms Cafe as a treat on occasion. It's a lovely little tea room / cafe with a great menu and friendly staff. It's situated next to a garden centre in Abridge with plenty of parking. It's popular so you might want to book a table.

Cute little tea shop serving breakfast and lunch. Food was delicious and staff were super friendly. Glad we stopped by here on our road trip.

The steak was absolutely spot on — cooked perfectly to our preference and full of flavor. Big kudos to the chef for nailing it! Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the food. Despite there being four waiters and a supervisor present, no one checked in on our table. We sat with empty plates and glasses for quite a while after finishing lunch, with no one asking if we had finished or if we needed anything else. We eventually had to get up ourselves just to ask for the drinks menu to get additional cocktails and again later for deserts. When the desserts came, the experience continued to disappoint. We requested specific flavor combinations of ice cream, but the order was all wrong — sorbets served instead of ice cream, incorrect flavor mixes. Great food, but the service definitely needs attention and training. Felt like waiters didn’t focus on what requires a restaurant.

Good food & drink here. Great outside terrace. Nearest station Theydon Bois. It has a car park .

ten members of our family joined us and the both the food and service was good Prices were very reasonable too

Waited 30 mins before acknowledged & given menus. It was then 40 mins before our first drink on a Sunday morning. My latte was curdled (milk) which I sent back. Exchanged without fuss. Breakfast arrived much quicker than the menus did and was ok. Waitress delivering did not seem very happy or enjoying her work - very lacklustre This was our first and last visit. If you are in a hurry you will be disappointed. Easy like a Sunday morning I understand but I do not appreciate being actively ignored.

We went with friends on Saturday evening and had a wonderful meal with very attentive service. We have been before and had the lunch menu (also highly recommended) and Highly recommended.

Called the restaurant, told me to send the photos and the videos and they would call me back, now they are ignoring me! A long hair in my chow mein! Disgusting!

Rubbish. Drive through- surly unfriendly impatient staff. Then really slow service despite only one car on front of us. No choice of milkshake or any nice for kids
