Going to London to see guys and dolls. Needed a place near debden. Found this absolute gem of a hotel. Rooms clean and comfy. Very boutique chic. Little treats left biscuits hot choc etc.marvellous.

Mother's day meal so at their busiest. However all of the young waiting staff were very polite & professional and went about their work with a smile. Food was very good with plenty of options despite a scaled down menu. Special requests were catered for without fuss. Main courses were so generous there was no room for dessert! Very nice experience overall

Nice selection of beers, food nicely presented. Friendly staff.

Had a lovely meal Thursday 29th Feb. Food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Our young waitress was very attentive and she knew her stuff, answering all our questions about the food without hesitation. We were all very impressed

Haven’t been here for many years but decided to give it a go as in the area. Firstly make sure you enter your registration on the iPad otherwise you will end up with a parking fine. The friendly staff did remind us on arrival. All staff really friendly and the menu is nice lots of choice. I opted the the cheeseburger but was a bit disappointed with it as it was nothing special. I would give it another try though.

Been to a few of our locals for lunch and been disappointed, today was different. Made to feel welcome by the staff and they wanted you to come back. Food was very good, service was great, makes a nice change to be made to feel welcome and the staff actually care. Thank you.

We decided to go here as a last resort as all the best pubs were fully booked. 12 of us out celebrating my nans birthday. First thing we experienced as we walked through the door was the stench of poo from the toilets, walk past that to the bar area owners just sat their blowing his nose, slurping up his own dinner, gross. We are then taken to the back of the restaurant, where there is large circle table and two rectangle tables pushed together, one with a cloth, one without, table not dressed at all (thanks for making that area special after taking a £120 deposit) We arrived at 7:30 our dinner plates were still not cleared by 9:30, restaurant wasn't even busy, food was so bad, zero flavour, over cooked (avoid rib of beef and croquettes - disgusting) they forgot two of our starters, messed up one of them, each meal didn't clear our plates away after we'd finished 1 hour gap between starters and mains, service was so poor, didn't take one glass away from the table the whole meal (photo) no one asking if we're ok, had to walk up and ask the owner if he could ask the staff (who were just out in the kitchen laughing and joking) if someone could come and clear our plates, he offered a round offered drinks aggressively like he thought that would solve everything, just a rubbish experience start to finish, didn't have any ginger beer, the wine tasted like ribeana, owner doesn't care, no manager organising the teenage staff, awful food, avoid at all costs.

From the minute we got there, the welcome was impeccable, the waitress Olive was so lovely and knowledgeable, the food served was big but really gorgeous. We had prawn cocktail to start, steak pie and mash and found some room for a pudding. Thank you Blue Boar team. You made our visit so special

Beautiful venue traditional pub reserved Christmas dinner for 7 of my family no atmosphere of Christmas You get one chance at Christmas dinner? I do not blame the staff. I blame me for choosing this venue absolutely disaster no Christmas crackers on the table to get in the mood Christmas dinner was a 4 out of 10 no trimmings, stuffing etc had to ask for drinks twice likewise for a pudding never never again overrated

Last night our Christmas meal which was very good, the service and staff very friendly and efficient. We were looking forward to the music and dancing, but sadly the DJ did not want anyone dancing, did not play any Christmas music and despite many asking for requests continued to play music to an empty dance floor. Such a shame.

We held a wedding reception dinner for 40 guests in the private dining room. A big 'thank you' to all the staff, especially John, the manager and India, our wonderful waitress. All of our family and friends said what a great evening they had - the food was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Some of our family stayed in the hotel, and they said the staff could not have been more helpful. You gave us all an evening to remember - thank you!

Went to the blue boar to watch the football with family and friends and I was not disappointed I had the cheese and onion garlic bread to start and that did not disappoint then as a main I had the chicken shish and it had a lot of flavour. The staff was amazing and very welcoming service was fast and overall was very impressed despite the bad reviews I have read. Will definitely be making a return for Sunday lunch

I had a very pleasant meal on a cold midweek evening. The restaurant was almost empty, just 3 tables with other guests, but it was quiet which suited us. The food was very good, if a little rushed. It was very obvious that we were the last in and the staff wanted to leave. As soon as our desert arrived the lights in the kitchen were turned off. You also need to be ok with dogs running around the place. We had a chat with the owner about the impact inflation was having on his business. Less and less people eating out. I mention talking to the owner, because even though it was quiet, no one mentioned that we needed to register our cars for parking. Fast forward to yesterday when I got a letter from Avis stating that I had incurred a fine for illegal parking at The Blue Boar. Because Avis has paid it and slapped on an admin fee, there is no appeal according to the parking company. Suggestion to the owner - put big signs on the door that leads in from the car park- ‘make sure you register’ and also train your staff to remind every table.

Having read the reviews we were very apprehensive about The Blue Boar in Abridge. I felt I needed to write a review as we had a wonderful experience from start to finish. We had a great welcome from the staff and we were seated in the restaurant which was very festive and friendly, they also reminded us to input the car reg no. for the car park. We were offered a menu which had a nice selection to suit everyone. I had the haddock and hand cut chips. I wasn’t disappointed, we also had prawn linguine and the mushroom risotto. I don’t normally have a desert but we decided to try (and share) the cheesecake with passion fruit. It was amazing. We will all be back for Sunday lunch if we can get a table next week. Very impressed.

Had no towels. No hot water Paid £125.00 When mentioned the following day (11am before anyone around) it was met with nothing but apathy. Could not recommend to anybody. Definitely not value for money. Poor effort.

Took the missus out for Sunday lunch today and decided to pop into the blue boar. The premises itself is a nice place. We went for the roast dinner option . Within 4 minutes our food had arrived and I though blimey that was quick. I had the roast beef it came with a pathetic Yorkshire pudding , gravy like water and vegetables just out of the microwave . The missus had the gammon. To say that both meats were of poor cheap standard is an understatement. Reminded me of the crap we got served up in primary school . The price that they charge is simply shocking but I suppose they are living off their poncy Essex reputation. What I would say is stay clear of the gaff for Sunday lunch as you don't get much change for a score a pop and the food was so bland . Very disappointed and the quality of their products were poor. I suggest they get their meats from a reputable source rather than from a wholesale place. To be honest you would get better produce from soup kitchen. Not worth the money and the quality the worse I've had in memory

Take money off you and when you they admit to an error then ignore attempts to pay you back and go off on holiday with your money safely deposited! Nice work Dave King

Went to the pub for gig the gig was great. food was terrible and inedible also I registered my number plate and I still got a £100 fine it’s outrageous

I've only given a one star as Google have yet to introduce a "don't touch with an electrified barge-pole" rating. We visited a week last Sunday and instead of Sunday lunch they had a different arrangement. What a total nightmare. There was a DJ in the middle of the dining area blaring out music the whole time, at a level so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. The people from the first sitting hadn't left and were dancing in the middle and around the tables like a nightclub and using them to put their drinks on whilst the second sitting was trying to eat their food. Service was appalling. Was told when we got there that they wasn't able to offer table service and you had to go up to the till to do it, but this was manned by a girl who looked no more than 14 or 15 (not legal surely?) who bless her, was clearly out of her depth. One middle-aged woman in front of me was explaining that she and her friends had been waiting over an hour for their drinks. She wasn't being nasty, but out of nowhere the Landlord came charging over accusing her of creating trouble and upsetting his staff and told her and her friends to f*ck off! She tried to explain, but he then said if she didn't f*ck off, he'd hit her? I couldn't believe my ears. He then went outside to where her and her friends were sitting, no doubt thinking they'd escape the music but alas there were speakers there also, and told them all to f*ck off and that if they didn't he'd hit them as well. . I'm talking ladies in their late 50's to 60's -not quite blue rinse but certainly not trouble-makers. Never in all my extensive experience in dining at varying levels of eateries throughout the world have I witnessed behaviour like it. It made Fawlty Towers seem like The Ritz. They left in such a rush that one of them who must have been celebrating her birthday bless her, left a present under the table which was spotted by another diner who handed it over the car park fence to her. Cue another volley of abuse and threats from the landlord who was still hovering menacingly. Needless to say we wont be returning there or indeed any of the other pubs apparently associated with the same landlord.

I had the displeasure of eating in the Blue Boar in April. Baring in mind this was out first meal out for 6 months and it was a complete let down.We booked the table in January, we were escorted to a table that was outside the main restaurant, to a beer soaked garden bench with cushions. If I had known that was going to be my table then I wouldn't have bothered. We were told upon arrival that it was noted in the confirmation email, that we might be allocated a garden table. This was true but you don't expect a grimy old beer bench.It was freezing, with no heater. Secondly, they got our drinks wrong twice but I couldn't be bothered to complain anymore. To top it off, they decided to put up a beer tent opposite the dining area which was full of a load of young chav's off the their face doing balloons canisters, drugs in the toilet and crashing into the garden tables outside because they were so off their face. Additionally the toilets were disgusting. My question to the Blue Boar is, who is your target audience? Young kids who wanna get off their face in your car park, or people who are willing to pay for a reasonably expensive meal in your restaurant and want to enjoy a nice atmosphere. I appreciate you need to make money anyway you can but the two demographics do not go together. b

Huge thanks to Estelle and the team for looking after us when we arrived for lunch. Estelle really did go out of her way to ensure that we could enjoy our day even in the cold! It was so enjoyable that we moved over the other tent for evening drinks. Espresso martini was frothy perfection.

Seated us on a picnic table for a birthday meal... After several complaints 45mins later moved us to a dining table. Took food order (just 2 dishes) twice as they lost 1st order! Finally 1hr15mins food arrived - took £8 off bill. Not returning shabby all round

We had the roast dinner today from the blue boar ordered for 3pm and was ready when we picked up this is the best in the local area I can’t wait for the next time.

We came here in December for a birthday meal. They served up the meals to some, not all, there was a big delay, so we spoke to them and they forgot to deliver the rest of the meals to us... so when they arrived the food was cold, we sent it back and it was no doubt microwaved. Anyway... the next thing they gave my child pasta and used chilli pasta sauce instead of the kids pasta sauce. My little girl started to eat it and then stopped, looked like she's seen a ghost. We called the waitress over, they said there's no way the chef done this, anyway they tried it and the manager came over and apologised. At this point we wanted to go and they said we could have desserts on the house. We ordered these... 45 minutes later, nothing. We spoke to the waitress and she forgot to tell the chef. It was laughable. Absolute joke. We paid what we felt was right and then left, we won't be going there again.

Booked a Sunday roast to be delivered today for 5.00 pm. Arrived early and piping hot. Can’t recommend them enough for the quality of the food and the amount served. On the list to use again. Thank you to the staff for continuing your service in these strange times

Went with a couple of friends for lunch on a recommendation but will not return Outside dining was freezing.. we were seated on the edge of the marquee next to a permanently open exit gate which had a broken catch on it .. no where near a heaterTo top it all my cordial arrived in a jug with gravy inside and out .. the soup was barely lukewarm and main course very disappointing and dry ... the bill came to £35 pp for just 2 courses ... no alcohol ... felt ripped off !!!I know places are struggling because of Covid but look after the customers you have

I had a lovely lunch at the Blue Boar today with a friend of mine. The food was wonderful and there was a great atmosphere even though we ate in the marquee they were very careful with Covid precautions. Our waitress, Georgia, was particularly attentive and made our visit that little bit more special. We shall certainly be returning.

Whilst I fully appreciate you offering an outside terrace for your customers, there needs to be some flexibility in helping ALL diners to keep warm, comfortable and welcome.You can not have inconsistencies in who can sit where, who can be moved to a warmer table and who can suddenly have the sides lowered to keep warm, when other customers aren’t offered the same.All customers have the right to be treated the same, regardless of who they are and how much they are spending.If you want customers to return, then I think you need to be more attentive and be consistent with your processes, offering a consistent answer to all.So many other Restaurant's offering a better service, giving customers a feeling that they wish to return.

I have been going here on and off for years. The new management recently really have put a lot of passion into the changes they have made. Dealing with all this Covid rubbish they really could not have been more eager to please their customers. The prices are good, the service is brilliant and the food is nice and fresh. The scampi is my favorite. A really really fantastic local. Thanks guys!

Used to be a lovely village pub that catered for the local community. I wouldn’t bother coming here unless yr into TOWIE and don’t care about social distancing. Roast dinner was tiny and I had to have a sandwich when I got home as I was still hungry

Welcome nice .afternoon tea was nice .as much tea as you wanted and like it strong so asked for extra tea bags .Asked if they did skimned milk but no.shame Sandwiches were very nice .ham.and mustard .egg.and smoke salmon.we asked if there wasMore sandwiches but no they dont give extra.Nice scones and cream.The cakes were nice one was Ginger with fruit and nuts delious .not rushed .very clean.Nice atsmophere .

Went for afternoon tea with my elderly mum. The scones were to die for but above everything else the customer service was EXCELLENT...and in my book just as important as the food. All staff we encountered were very polite and attentive. Well done Blue Boar. It was well worth the 30 mile journey. We will be back

From the start, it was lovely. Had a drink on the terrace and I was cold. Didn't even have to ask, was given two blankets. Four of us then went in to eat. Service was great, food even better and the staff, in particular, the manager were excellent. So accommodating. My husband loved the home made pie. I had the Jack Daniel ribs, highly recommend

What a disappointment my visit was. The service was very slow my friend had drunk two cups of tea before my dessert arrived and the wait at the start for our drinks was very long The food was really good as always however the dessert whilst it was delicious was ridiculously overpriced for the portion size. At £6.95 I expected more that a few spoonfuls and a tiny scoop of ice creamSocial distancing wasn’t thought about as the as all the tables outside were full and the area seemed packed !!My other criticism is that the owners poodles (whilst they were adorable) they were often walking through the restaurant - surely this is a hygiene thing but that aside not everyone is comfortable around dogs It’s a shame as I have always liked this place but I won’t be rushing backThe other issue is the parking there just isn’t enough and there is no where outside to park so you have to get there really early to get a space

From the moment we walked in, all the staff were really lovely and friendly. We sat outside on the terrace and both had the burger for lunch which was fresh and very tasty, good chips too!And a side of onion rings, also very good.(Why the cheap ketchup though? it’s such a let down! Understand it needs to be in sachets at the moment, but come on... get something decent!)We’ll definitely be back!

We have just been out for a lovely meal in the blue boar. We took advantage of the eat out to help out as they have extended it through September. We both ordered the rib eye steak which I have to say was better than miller and carter which we visited the week before. Will definitely be back!

Delicious dinner at the blue boar, they even had two vegan options on the dinner menu. The burger and chips were amazing! The only way it could have been better was if they had a vegan dessert on the menu!

Table booked for friends birthday. Poor service from start to finish. Told that we couldn’t sit outside because it was first come first served and only got people that were eating. Eventually moved (as we were eating!) which was nice only to be told by the waitress, once we’d finished eating our mains and tried to order more wine, “sorry but I’ve been told that I can’t serve you any more as we need the table!” We moved to bc a table that no longer offered waiter service only without the chance to order dessert only to see our vacated table left empty for the next hour and the table next to it filled with young girls just drinking. Oh well, I guess the moral is to go somewhere where people appreciate the money you want to spend! I’m now going to get some food elsewhere as I never got my dessert!

First visit to the blue boar and I will definitely be returning. Myself and a friend came in for dinner on Saturday night not having booked and were looked after from start to finish... The food was delicious and the service was outstanding in particular the manageress Emma who was bubbly and attentive. We enjoyed our al fresco dining outside in the garden whilst listening to an amazing singer. Having not being able to go abroad this year this was the next best thing. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to return

This was our first meal out after lock down and we decided to go to the Blue Boar believing it was a very nice, dress up kind of restaurant as I remember it to be around 5 years ago. However when we drove into the car park there were people dancing in the car park, casual denim shorts and a very busy beer garden. The restaurant tables had been spaced out for social distancing but that's where any attempts ended. People from the garden area next to the car park were walking through the restaurant area to use the toilets. The toilets are small but when I went to use one it had several girls on front of the mirrors doing their make up. The food was ok but nothing like I remember. It's a glorified pub for Towie types and it's just not worth a visit for the food. It's a pity, I felt like I was eating at a pub rather than a nice restaurant as intended. On a positive, the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's just a shame the clientele and restaurant have changed

A wonderful room, super comfy bed & fabulous ensuite in a characteristic building.. We loved the interiors, art work and overall detail to attention, the courtyard was intimate and very well looked after. All the staff were friendly & attentive, without being intrusive. Will be highly recommending.

My son wanted to book a meal for 4 for Mothers Day.Called and booked a table and was told to leave a £10 a head deposit.With more than 5 days until the booking we need to cancel and have been refused a refund.What costs have been incurred by the restaurant that £40 is a fair fee to take?

My wife and I visited for lunch . Starters we're excellent hot and served quickly . Waitresses were polite and helped with the menu selection . The mains of fish and chips were well presented not over battered like many restaurants. Well worth a visit .

I love going here as you always know you are going to get a lovely meal with lovely staff serving you. Their customer service is outstanding. They cannot do enough for you. Tried one of their afternoon teas it was so lovely. This is a place that should be on everyone's favorite list. If you haven't been go, you will not be disappointed. Thank you to all the staff.

We had a groupon for afternoon tea. Booking fine and easy.Atmosphere in the pub was quite good, staff seemed very helpful at first.We were asked what beverage we wanted only choice of tea or coffee, no different types of tea. Then our tier of goodies came up.There were 6 weirdly cut finger sandwiches, none the same shape or size! There was 2 ham and 4 egg mayo, no choice really. Scones were really lovely big and warm, however jam and cream were in pots and definitely not enough there was just enough jam for a smear on the lovely scone, same with the cream. It’s a shame as it’s the jam and cream that enhances the scone.Cakes were ok there was a teaspoon with a very strong chocolate mousse on it, a macaroon that didn’t taste of much, a nice little square of brownie, a very small triangle of lemon curd cheese cake and a little glass with some cream and fruit compote in. This is the first afternoon tea where I have been able to eat everything as it was quite small, normally I would be taking some home with me.As I said this was a groupon if I was paying full price for this I would have been very disappointed. During our time there I had to get a member of the waiting staff to refill our tea, not once did anyone come and check that everything was ok, quite disappointing service. Would not go back.

We visit the Blue Boar on a weekly basis for a Rotary meeting and the service and food is always fantastic and great value. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Visited here on Saturday night with some family that were visiting the area. Greated by tge friendly manager Enrique who showed us to the table. We were given the specials and a few of the table went for these and they did not disappoint the food was amazing and there was a large choice on the menu including a whole page for Vegans. We were served by a lovely lady and Enrique who couldn’t do enough for our table even getting an extension lead so my daughter could charge her phone! We will defiantly be returning and staying for the singer next time around if it weren’t for the storm we would have stayed laterThank you

Great Evening from start to finish. We had a table of 9 and from the start Enrique was really friendly and helpful. For starters, we had two starter platters which were delicious. For Mains I had the duo of fish which was incredible. Everyone else said how much they enjoyed their mains as well. We feel that Enrique really made our evening extra special and can't thank him enough.

Came here during the week as I heard they had a new menu - WOW! Delicious new menu I must say, lots of choice and they even have a plant based page which my friend ordered off, she got the mushroom risotto to start and the vegan burger for main which she could not fault and it did look amazing. The staff are all so lovely bless them, so attentive and you can tell they actually want to be there (unlike other places). All in all the blue boar is literally my new favourite place! Can’t wait to go back and try all the other new yummy dishes.

My evening was great from start to finish! To start I had the sharing platter, which can I say was just unreal. Then I had the beef bourguignon which was so tender and full of flavour. There was a live singer called Rochelle who was amazing - Really made the evening! The staff were great, so attentive and one of them actually recommended my meal! Good visit all round, will definitely be back

Was a bit disgusted to pay nearly £9 for a “king prawn cocktail” which had barely any sauce on it, no lemon, a small amount of prawns all of which weren’t king prawns.

We used to use this restaurant regularly with a group of 10+. However, recently they have live music almost directly beside the private dining room with a large round table. It becomes almost impossible to speak to each other when the music is playing!

Been here several times before, but never on a Monday. Won’t do this again. Limited choice of food, not everything on the menu available. Service very slow. Although less than 10 other customers and 2 waitress, don’t know if usual chef takes Mondays off but this did not match up to my other visits. Expensive as well. Not sure I shall return.

...let down by gormless waitresses who didn’t have a clue. Was asked what we wanted to drink prior to being given a wine list and then waited ages for the wine. Table wasn’t cleared for at least 10 minutes and took ages for the bill. Do people not get trained anymore?

My friends and I were really disappointed with the Party night having had a brilliant one last year. I don't know if they've changed their chef butvfood wasn't up to the usual standard. The prawn and smoked salmon cocktail was thrown together in a glass. The prawns were not properly defrosted and they had stuck a huge chunk of white bread on side. No attention to detail or presentation. The main course was equally bad, the prawn linguine had been smothered in pesto and garlic overwhelming the whole dish which was a big bowl of starchy pasta with a few prawn. Sticky toffee pudding was left. Tasted like chocolate cake with ver sweet syrup, Yuk!

Spent the evening with my friends for ‘Freddie Mercury & Friends’ Christmas party night, food was exceptional as it always is here, Estelle and girls are so lovely and make sure your very well looked after & the entertainment was brilliant. Overall a really enjoyable evening - even though we wasn’t drinking ! Looking forward to spending NYE at The Blue Boar x

Went with three of my friends and had a great time. The food was included in the price and entertainment too. We thought overall it was good value for money and the food was superb! The lady singer was excellent and had an amazing voice - we loved her!

Went with a group of friends. We went last year and the food was excellent, but this time the food was so bad. Party of 12 of us we all had the set Christmas menu 35.00. The starter was really nice. However every single main dish had to be taken back as cold. My potatoes was so cold that the fat had turned hard on them. The cheese cake dessert was all cured, it was off. It was a monday night and the restaurant only had us and 1 other group of girls. The service was ok, and the waitresses was very apologetic. We wont be going back.

We have had several family gatherings at Christmas in the Blue Boar over the last five years. This year we booked the first of their special Christmas party nights as my 60th birthday party meal with a group of ladies aged from 23 to 73. There were 24 of us. We normally go for the Mathew Winchester night as hes always great for all ages and they also have a bit of music playing on after hes finished singing. Unfortunately his night was fully booked so we opted for what was listed as the DJ/Disco night on the Saturday instead. We eventually all sat down for about 7.45. The entertainment had started even before we had ordered our food. The entertainment was an ABBA tribute, not the DJ/Disco night we thought and not really to our liking. Anyhow the food arrived. Gosh, We have eaten at the Blue Boar on many different occasions and the food is always good. Think the chef had a night off on this occasion! My pate was ok but the toast was so hard I couldn't eat any of it. I had ordered the Christmas turkey dinner for mains. It was ok but definitely not as good as other years. The potatoes were hard and the pig in blanket was raw. Didn't eat these. The turkey was warm but the rest of the meal was stone cold actually. I asked for some really hot gravy to try to warm it up but had to wait ages for someone to bring it so the meal was even colder! Desert was ok but not sure what was going on but it was not up to usual standards. Didn't finish any of it. Most of our party were disappointed with the food this year. When we booked we were told the entertainment started about 9. But in fact it started so early we were jumping up between courses to have a dance. We were told they would start by 9 by which time most people would have finished eating but this was not the case. Also once the Abba pair had finished, we would have liked to have stayed and had a few more drinks and a dance but that was it, all done. Overall a disappointing night which was meant to be a lovely celebration for my big birthday. I felt very deflated to say the least. Also we had four people that had paid their £45.00 for the meal but unfortunately couldn't make it. We were told sorry but they loose their £45.00 not just their deposit. I asked for their meal money to be taken off the drinks bill, which came to nearly £1,000.00 but no they couldn't do that either. All in we spent nearly £2,000.00 on food and drink that night. Not sure if its new management or owners but in the past when we have had people that have had to drop out at the last minute they have let us take their payment from the bar bill but sadly not on this occasion. That's fair enough as they are running a business but it was a bitter pill on this occasion. Not sure we will be back which is a shame.

I came here for my work Christmas party on Tuesday and all I can say is how brilliant and accommodating all the staff where for us all , there was 15 of us and they set up our table perfectly so we could all be close enough to still be able to talk, the food came perfectly and they were able to accommodate to my colleague who was a vegan and gluten free! Thank you to all the staff for an unbelievable night! We will definitely be back

Everything went wrong. Staff couldn't remember drinks orders. Asked for a negroni. Said they didn't know what that was so what else would I like if they couldn't make it? I said I'll have a beer. So they brought a strawberry martini! Food was awful - room temperature. Turns out it had been left waiting on the side because the kitchen hadn't communicated that it was ready to the waiter/waitress. Tried to appease us with a free bottle of wine but the madness continued at dessert. Waiter never returned. After 15 minutes of waiting, the waitress tried to defend him by saying he probably just wanted to give us more time! It was like an episode of Fawlty Towers - will never return.
