Shish Meze in Epping Forest

We went with friends on Saturday evening and had a wonderful meal with very attentive service. We have been before and had the lunch menu (also highly recommended) and Highly recommended.

I went to this resturant for a birthday dinner on a Wednesday evening. On arrival i ordred some coctails and a pint of EFES Larger after 20 mins wait ( even though we wre the only customers the coctails arrived but was told there was no EFES. So said okay i will have a pint of Heineken but was then told the gas was turned off and the staff said they did not know how to turn it on. Who the hell trained them. Anyway they said they had bottled morietti so I settled for that. We then ordered some starters and main coarses but they all arrived at the table at the same time ( never had my main course with my starter before ) so by the time we had eaten the starter the mains were starting to cool. Aftre dinner we ordered more coctails and I ordered another Moretti . Up came the coctails but no Moretti (told there was no more Bottled Moretti and only one bottle of Peroni left. Who orders the stock. Then when the Bill comes up the pint of EFES was on it and they added a 12.5% service charge for not having any draught beer and only 4 bottles of larger just as well I was the only one on beer. We would have stayed for more cocktails but I would have had to drink coke if they had that. Must say the food was great compliments to the chef but bar sevice and waiting was really bad

Thank you for making my birthday very special! Couldn’t have been happier, the bartender upstairs was lovely gentleman, the receptionist was fantastic and welcoming. I ordered lamb Shish and I can tell you this was the best lamb Shish I’ve ever had in London it’s just like eating in turkey 🇹🇷 We’ve been served by a lovely waitress I forgot to ask her name but she was very attentive. We were a group of 10 people and all our food came at the same time which was great. Their cocktails were fantastic! Probably the best espresso Martini I ever had.

Honestly , hidden gem in the area ! Great ambience and lovely service. It’s not overly crammed and I could have conversations without having to scream. Amazing food and decent prices as it’s along the same with the other restaurants in Essex. Friday nights are amazing as we went with our friends and had nicest cocktails ever and there’s bar upstairs with Dj. Great for girls or boys night out ! Even the doorman is nice 👌🏼😩

Food very good. Service good. Great to be able to go upstairs to the bar and have a further drink or two. Not crazy about the music aimed at a young crowd. However the owner went above and beyond when we couldn’t get a taxi and drove us home. Thank you very much.

Poor doorman’s service, asked for a drink, point blank said no, we said, we the have the bug bucks to spend they continued to belittle us embarrassing on their behalf. Honestly ashamed to call this place Essex. Avoid at all cost

First visit. Not very impressed. Waiter got the order wrong and whilst replacing my friend's meal they didn't offer to take mine away and keep it warm. But what really surprised me - staff weren't wearing masks. We walked in without masks and weren't asked to. There were no safety processes in place, no checking, no using the NHS Covid track and Trace. Very poor.

Awful night, poor service , poor food. Burnt fish kebab !! 3 main courses 1 hour after starter with dirty crockery left on table until finally attracting a waiters attention 4th starter 10 mins later, no sides arrived, singer excellent voice but so loud - complained but got met with total disinterest, what an absolute let down, trying hard to support local business but £200 for this mess will not support again. Manager offered free drink, guess what ?? Put on bill !!
