The Blue Rooms Cafe in Epping Forest

The food in this country side cafe is delicious and reasonable. I ordered a No. 2 and recommend that to everyone who needs a balance of meat and carbs. The staff is very friendly and interactive. It's a small cafe with good vibes and ambience to take a break in or to visit when you have reached Abridge cycling or long distance running. Surrounded by vast green lands it has an inner seating with a deck for dogs just outside. Just adjacent to the cafe there is a nursery with a huge variety of plants too. Food is mainly English breakfast and sandwiches 🥪.

We booked a table in the covered outside area, for lunch today, and couldn't have enjoyed it more. Lovely seating area and dog friendly. Great service, delicious food...chilli and the steak and kidney pie. The lovely lady that served us was very attentive and so kind to our recently adopted rescue dog, Bobby, which we really appreciated. We then shared a large slice of Victoria sponge, perfect with the very good coffee. Thank you so much, we will mostly definitely be back.

We had an outstanding breakfast at Blue Rooms The menu is interesting with a good variety. Our breakfast was absolutely delicious. I had crushed avocado with poached eggs and baby tomatoes, which was all perfectly cooked. The coffee is top notch - such a fantastic brunch - highly recommended.

£15 for smoked salmon, eggs, avocado and toast. Very little amount of salmon for the price. But, it did taste nice. The coffee is good too.

Since moving to this area, I had been on the lookout for a place that serves a good English breakfast, and I'm delighted to have found it at the Blue Rooms Cafe. The food here is excellent, with a traditional English breakfast that's perfectly cooked and satisfying. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit a pleasant experience. Additionally, the ample parking space available is a great convenience, ensuring a hassle-free start to the day. If you're in the area and in search of a great breakfast spot, the Blue Rooms Cafe is definitely worth a visit.

Had a very nice lunch here today. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten here. Usually just visit for the garden centre, but my friend and I decided to eat whilst here. This is a great family run cafe/restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. We were seated quickly and served quickly, although it was fairly busy (and is normally packed out) I had the poached eggs with smashed avocado with an oat milk cappuccino. The coffee is very nice here too, probably the nicest I’ve had in a while. My friend had the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and it looked delicious. All tasted fresh and came quickly too. Extra seating now for when it is very busy, which meant we didn’t have to wait for a table today. Lots of variety on the menu, and some of the other food being served up looked delicious too. Glad to see this place is still open and doing well. The staff here clearly work very hard to provide great food and service. Very reasonable prices too. Would recommend.

Waited almost an hour for food, not even offered an apology. I ordered another coffee as had drank whole pot of tea and needed something else. It didn't appear to be busy and wasn't cheap. My chicken salad didn't have much dressing and chicken quite dry. Such a shame, we really looked forward to going there.

Food and service was excellent as usual. A bit of a wait ( which we were warned about) but no surprises as it is Father's Day. Regardless, we will return.

Sitting outside in the summer, listening to the birds and having a poached egg on toast - beat that.

Great family-run eatery. The full english is exquisite. To be frank, you can’t go wrong with any items on their menu. Prices are mid-range. Welcoming atmosphere. Parking is commodious with an overflow section. Having said that can get very busy as the Garden Centre shares the site. Toilets are clean. Visited several times and thoroughly recommended. You can book ahead but not necessary if you get there early.

Booked today but had 2 change times twice due to nightmare traffic. When we finally got there lots of other people were also late. This was my first time, but it was recommended and it was truly good. We ordered ham, eggs and chip and a chicken Caesar salad. Portion s were large and we couldn't finish so took some home

I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews but approaching the manager, in person, and by then by email elicited a dismissive response in the first instance and no response at all in the second. Food was fine, the cafe, it's garden centre and parking area were all well maintained and very pleasant, prices were fine, serving were helpful and efficient but beware of going with a group on a cold or wet day. Our big group table was in the "heated" conservatory area at the front of the cafe. That was ok for those seated at the far end of out table, away from the wide open entrance door to the outside, and those sitting under a heater, but I was near the door and was freezing throughout, even in a padded full length coat and using the cafe's chair "sheepskins" as a draught stopper and a lap blanket. The floor was covered in weather proof matting which was sodden as the rain got underneath the conservatory sides and onto - or under - the matting. Coats and bags touching the floor got wet, as did my feet. It took me long time to get warm. I won't be going again.

Have visited a few times and it’s very deserving of the excellent reviews. It’s a good idea to book, my latest visit being spur of the moment but a lovely member of staff was able to find me a table. The team are so friendly and service was good. The menu is wide ranging, my father had the breakfast and commented how good the sausage was. I had asparagus with poached eggs, also excellent. Reasonable prices for quality meals. Fab!

Our first time visiting Blue Rooms cafe . Food was OK but overpriced for just a cafe. The most serious disappointment was overhearing the way the Manager/Owner spoke to a member of staff. She was very pleasant, helpful and obviously experienced although seemed to be learning his ways. His manners to her was disgusting and humiliating for her and made me feel very uncomfortable to hear. No one has the right to speak to a member of staff in that manner. He was very unprofessional. We will not be returning and will not be recommending to our local friends.

Good food, and they do take away too. Veggie breaky is lovely. Helpful staff, and loads of car parking.

Came for Sunday lunch staff were very friendly and welcoming and although understandably very busy, quickly managed to find us a table. The food ordered arrived quickly and was fresh and delicious. We felt it was reasonably priced and will definitely visit again.

I absolutely love it here. The menu is superb, the staff very helpful and efficient and the food is delicious. I'm yet to eat anything here that hasn't been excellent. Popped in today for a bite before buying our Christmas Tree! Very much starting to feel like Christmas. Highlights for me are their Full English and the Corned Beef Hash with poached eggs. I love their Kimbo Coffee which I've only ever found being served in Nardini's (Largs, Scotland).

This place is not the Ritz, so why the high prices for average tasting food ?Considering there is a busy road running alongside, it's not as if you have a nice view. Staff unwelcoming and you really feel they don't want your custom ! They certainly will not have mine anymore ! Not a relaxing atmosphere. Felt like I was at my mother in law's. There is a sign there for customers and it says to wait for staff in order to be seated. However, somebody waited this morning and then left as nobody was there ! At least do what it says on the tin ! Too busy in appearance with too much signage, telling people useless details. I arrived with my partner and dog and were relegated to the further away seating area. I would like to say that the lady hosting was friendly and welcoming, but she wasn't. Too officious and had a face like a slapped sardine.

I have been to the blue room several times, and I have always had a nice experience. Food fresh service, even when they are busy, is good . Easy parking. Went for lunch yesterday it was raining, and the boss offered us an umbrella so that we did not get soaked.

Absolutely top shelf Little oasis in the desert that is Abridge. I have lived in the area for many years but somehow have never visited this cafe. Well that’s going to change going forward. A wide ranging menu, lovely food and friendly staff at reasonable prices. Will definitely be returning soon!

The food is not too salty and tastes good👍Most British restaurants are overly salty! But the quality and service here are really good and memorable. After enjoying the gourmet coffee, you can also go to the gardening shop at the back to garden, which is great fun!

Had a lovely breakfast. Arrived nice and hot. I tried the garlic and thyme mushrooms on sourdough toast, would definately recommend. My husband had the vegan breakfast for a change from the full English. A lighter start to the day. All in all a good experience.

Disappointed with teacakes we ordered, first was burnt, got a second which was OK but very overpriced, no jam. Had cheaper in central London

Had an alright lunch today, prawns in jacket potatoe, potatoes was not cooked through and prawns were bland not much sauce on them and two tiny lettuce leafs and one cherry tomatoe cut in half.... would have complained but my partners meal was OK and we had to collect our grandson from school after waiting half hour for food which they did inform us about.. Another thing is the staff, what a sombre lot they are, only the waitress who brought our drinks was jolly .....

Just love this place from start to finish , plenty of parking outside so no driving around , from the moment you step in the staff are friendly and welcoming, quick service if your in a hurry and relaxed if you have the time , I had the bubble stack today , I have to say it was the best breakfast I have ever had and I have had a few, bubble with 2 beautiful poached eggs, bacon , sausage and a lovely bit of black pudding , just beautiful , give it a go , plus the coffee is great as well

After an enforced lengthy sabbatical that kept me from visiting my favourite go to Cafe it was so good to note on a recent visit that things had only got better. The Blue Room serves what is probably the best coffee for miles around along with a menu that ticks every box on the page. From The Full English to the best Corned Beef Hash ever, that along with a full page or two of other breakfast offerings such as omelettes, Benedicts and a shortlist of specials makes this place stand out from the crowd. The kitchen is open to view and works like a well oiled machine and the staff, all of them are warm and welcoming. Just great!

Lovely cafe with very friendly staff who always try their hardest to make you feel relaxed and welcome, despite them always being so busy! A really popular spot for brunch and coffee, so sometimes there is a little wait for food but it’s worth it - always tasty and well cooked and the variety of hot and cold drinks ok offer are great

Horrible stuff and even the clients that were there were very rude since we enter the premises, they started looking oddly at us in a very racist way although we’re are very handsome ppl ( me and my wife we are actors and models) and also I’m a pilot with my uniform on, and you know when someone look at you in an admirable or racist way! We definitely won’t ever recommend this place to a friend nor visit it back even if that is the last place to eat in the world. In 2022 you see this kind of attitude is just unacceptable! Also the food is a bit pricey for the sort of place and location. Very very disappointing experience.

I only stopped by for coffee so I can't say about the food. But love this cute little place. There is a little garden centre next to it. It's a cute little place to stop by for coffee and snacks.

My friend and I shared an avocado club sandwich that was actually very good, it came with a generous portion of fries and a nice tasting pot of coleslaw, it was certainly big enough to share. It was quite difficult to get the attention of wait staff as they seemed to be busy chatting to regulars, however the ladies were friendly and polite. We had one issue as one of our party of 3 had a hair in the bottom of her coffee cup, when we pointed this out the man who came to our table made us feel a bit uncomfortable like it was our fault. Looking around at some of other meals that came out I would say they all looked very nice, and would like to go back again.

Three of us met here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our large omelettes, which were beautifully cooked and presented with a great amount of fillings. The coffee was very nice too. They were very busy but gave an efficient and friendly service. Bonus is that it is attached to a garden centre. Highly recommend for excellent value.

I had a lovely lunch eventually but had to wait nearly an hour for food. Only told this once we had our drinks. Seems like only 2 staff serving the cafe and they didn't look too happy. Not great impression. Would go back but when its quieter.

I ordered a cream tea but I wanted coffee instead had to order scone and coffee separately. My coffee came up, 30 minutes later I got the scone. Very disappointed shop bought scone heated up in the microwave so the scone went a bit hard. Won't be going back there again

Tasty food, brilliant staff. Would recommend the hot chocolate, it’s really good from there. Prices are decent. Only thing that could improve is the fact food takes a while sometimes and the place is quite small.

Friendly staff and nice covered outdoor seating. Wait times for food were insane though while it didn't look particularly busy. Told it would take approximately 45 mins for sandwiches, they did look good though from what we saw so will come back to try.
