I was hooked on their grilled fish(with large portions of yam and plantain) till I tasted their asun. Chai. If u need to be properly introduced to asun, try veil restaurant. Whoever is the chef there is very very good

I had the pleasure of visiting Basil Spice in Basildon last night after a fun afternoon of bowling with friends, and I have to say, what an amazing find! We initially chose it because it was conveniently located near Festival Leisure Park, but it turned out to be so much more than just a quick meal. From the moment we walked in, the welcome was incredibly warm and genuine, which set the tone for the evening. The food was top-notch—flavorful, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The staff were fantastic, attentive, and friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. What really surprised us, though, was the unexpected disco! What we thought would be a casual Indian meal quickly turned into a lively night out with music and dancing. It was such a fun and unique twist to our dinner plans! Basil Spice is definitely a place I’ll be visiting again, and I’ll be recommending it to friends and family for both the great food and the lively atmosphere. Can’t wait for round two!

The service was friendly and efficient, making for a smooth dining experience. However, the atmosphere didn’t quite match the quality of the meal. It felt a bit lacking in energy or warmth, which would have elevated the overall experience. Still, if you’re looking for great food and solid service, it’s definitely worth a visit!

Lovely food and staff, but unfortunately it was so cold in this restaurant, the radiators were not even on which was an extremely freezing cold evening, they had electric fans on the table next to us but this wasn’t sufficient unfortunately. although I enjoyed my meal it was spoilt by how cold it was, albeit I had a a Madras but that didn’t have any warming effect 😦

Food was great, only stipulation is that you... can't really finish rice dishes because they only give you chopsticks for those. Atmosphere was great and service was the best I've seen in a while. Waiters were nice and our food was so quick I was half expecting the chef to have sold their soul for culinary skills lol.

Lovely & relaxed place to have a coffee or food. Service is very good, order at the table from the qr code or order at the bar. Would recommend and has become our new go to place for a hot drink whilst in town.

AVOIDDD! Me and my mum went for some lunch and she ordered tea, the server spilled the ROASTING hot tea all over my poor mums leg😡. She was left with a burn mark on her thigh and we had to leave to seek medical attention. We dealt with an Irish guy (possibly manager) but he couldn't have been more unhelpful and couldn't wait to get rid of us! We were left to clean up my mums leg on our own.

They are very rude and racial discrimination set of people.
