Kervan Kitchen in Basildon

Loved everything here. We went on a Saturday evening without booking, no wait at all to get our table. The hot seafood starter was delic and such good value for money. The mixed grill as a main dish had nice soft meat with pleasant chargrill flavour. The live music was very entertaining. The only negative side was that plates were sliding on the table. Please put some plate mats on the tables to prevent people knocking plates off the tables when trying to cut their food. :D

Went for fun, we got 'robbed' We usually use this location for team gathering or business meetings lunch. This time we went for food and drinks as team. We had a bill of £507, and we received a receipt with service charge involved (no option shown) I call the restaurant to discuss this with manager, that we should of had an option whether we wanted to be charged for the service, also we tipped £20 in cash too as we did not notice the charge in the bottom of receipt at that time they basically take approx £70 in service. Manager said different to what receipt says. Either fix the receipt or stop taking money from people without asking if that's fair.

The atmosphere of Buzz Kitchen is amazing. The infrastructure and the vibe of the place is too good. I went on a team dinner and everyone loved the place. I ate vegetarian starters which was good in taste. Also had coke which was normal. The last thing i ate was a vegetarian main course quick was not at all good in taste. I couldn’t complete it. Attached picture is of the vegetarian main course. Would not suggest having that. Also the quantity served is worth the value for money. Overall it was a good experience.

Great food, friendly staff, not cheap but worth every penny. Recommend the octopus starter, the mix grill main, big portions and the bread with the dips is amazing

I recently visited this restaurant hoping for a great meal, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The food I ordered came out undercooked and pink, which is not what I expected from a place that should prioritize food quality. To make matters worse, when I mentioned the issue to the staff, they told me that eating it that way could make me ill, which was both alarming and frustrating. On top of that, the beer I ordered was flat, which really ruined the whole experience for me. When I brought up these issues and asked if they could offer any sort of discount for the inconvenience, they not only refused but were also quite rude in their response. I believe that customer service is key to a good dining experience, and this was far from what I expected. I left feeling frustrated and let down. I hope they can improve their food quality and customer service in the future because, as it stands, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

Having visited Taz many times & on occasion Aspera, Buzz lacked all the warmth & atmosphere of the other 2 venues. Taz & Aspera are always busy & and lively, but this space felt empty with only a few occupied tables. Might be an idea to screen off parts of this restaurant, when not busy, in an effort to create a smaller & more 'buzzing' environment.

When a restaurant looks this good it simply has to be tried. The comfortable and modern surroundings are a great indicator of the wonderful authentic Turkish Cuisine here. Served & cooked to perfection,this has to be the bar set for their competitors . Quite simply the best Turkish food I've ever tasted. Thanks for getting everything right.

I’ve been coming to this place since early 2022, and I’ve never had a problem. Always been polite and friendly staff And the food has always been top-notch. It is now if anything even better following a recent rebrand. Will continue to come

Wow. Went out as a family with kids age 9 and 13 and was told to eat at Buzz Kitchen because its the best. Well it did not disappoint. The restaurant is beautiful, service is impeccable, all the staff are so friendly and attentive. Now on to the food... juicy, tender and full of flavour. I had the lamb shank, it was huge and the meat just melted off the bone and was almost as soft as the creamiest mash that accompanied it. The portions are huge even the kids meals. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We visited recently for dinner after its change from Kervan Kitchen to Buzz Kitchen and we had a great time. The set menu offers make dining here much more affordable on a weeknight (especially with kids) and the quality of the food is still fantastic. We’re big fans of Taz already, and will certainly be returning to Buzz Kitchen in future! The lamb and chicken shish are exceptional 👌

Went with my Mrs to try out. Food was good but there are other restaurants that do better. Still enjoyed entry atmosphere and was kept clean and the drinks were good. I would go back to try for the second time. Hopefully they learn how to make mojito properly lol.

I didnt expect much when we decided to eat here but believe me, it is the best food I've had in a long time. I had to take my ribs home to crush the bones cos they were soooo good. The mixed platter my husband had was excellent. This is my new favourite place. I looooove it.

Visited for a friend's birthday on a Friday night and had a superb evening. Decor is very good, food excellent and service perfect. I had chicken livers for starters and lamb and adana shish for mains with generous amounts of rice and salad. Our whole party had a great evening and would certainly visit again.

Kervan Kitchen used to be one of our favourites restaurant, but since it changed hands the food was bland not as tasty as before unfortunately. It does look good but it doesn't taste the same. The owner and staff are lovely.

First of all this place is BEAUTIFUL great for dates, family get together sand cocktails with the girls. speaking of the rasberry bomb was AMAZING and the blackberry gin is a must with lemonade. I had the mousakka and they put together a to go box for me because the portions are generous! everyones food was lovely and looked fantastic. I even managed baklava made fresh with ice cream and it was to die for. It was my first time there and I was blown away by how welcoming and accomidating the staff were, very polite and always attentive. we didnt have to look around for help once. Fully recommend and I will be taking friends and family there in the future. (It was my birthday dinner table of 6)

Came here for a birthday meal, Argen our waiter was one of the most genuinely helpful and friendly people iv encountered serving in a restaurant. The place is decorated beautifully and the food was delicious. This sounds like a paid review but genuinely the evening was a lovely experience and our birthday girl had a brilliant time. 10/10 well done peeps

Ordered a mix grill here, the food was very good. Probably the best lamb I had this year.

Had a lovely early dinner here today with my mum and sister. Fantastic service and food, the new owner was making sure everything was ok and very attentive. A very good atmosphere for a weeknight we will be back again. The Baklava was so delicious, a perfect way to finish the meal.

Came here tonight as we were staying near for work. The food was excellent, very fresh and well presented, 3 course meal was very reasonably priced, the service was excellent and the welcome we were given by the owner and his team was second to none. I wish didn’t live 200 miles away as I’d come here every week!!!

Amazing staff. Most friendly, not pushy and so interested in their customers. Loved the venue, incredibly clean. Food was superb and staff have so much time for their customers. Cannotbrecommend highly enough. Huseyin was an amazing host and his sister could not have been more helpful.

Staff were very friendly, a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, plenty of space. The food was very tasty, good portions and the service was great. Met the owner who was very welcoming his staff where also happy and friendly we had a good laugh with them and had a lovely family evening out. Would highly recommend.

Love this branch of Kervan Kitchen. The interior decor is so lovely. It's picture-perfect and camera-ready. The staff were nice and professional. All male it seems. The food was nicely presented and it tasted good too. Cocktail wasn't bad either.

It was our first time trying Kervan after hearing very good things and it did not disappoint. All 4 of us had such a lovely evening! The food was amazing and although I’d ordered a lamb shish and was brought a chicken shish instead, I did not mention it as the chicken was very nice but still, our waiter noticed the mistake himself and brought me a lamb shish, freshly cooked and on the house for the error even when I said it was no problem. Our waiter was very attentive, he asked us how our food was, if we needed anything etc and he was very friendly and was chatting and joking with us. This is by no means a negative but the portions are quite big and 3 of the 4 of us couldn’t finish our meals but we were able to take what we’d left away with us so no complaints here! Overall we had a very nice meal and although it is slightly more expensive than most of the other restaurants in the Festival Leisure Park, we felt we definitely got what we paid for as the quality of the food and the service was excellent. We will 100% be returning!

The main food was lovely but not much of it bulked out with lettuces carrot red cabbage and rice not really worth the money.Decor was lovely staff polite.

Celebration - 22 of us - Sat 20th April. The Manager & Staff were great. The food was as always super in quantity & quality. Our 'dance floor' & singing was a great added touch & made my 60th Celebration 🍾 extra special.

Private evening event a few days ago, superb food, superb service(maybe a bit too many choices for starters, but great food!). So yes, thank you Kervan kitchen staff(as it's not the 1st time i've enjoyed your food,service and atmosphere)!

It went down so much in the last year :(, sadly. After our last visit not going back (used to go few times a month) - food was cold, starting with the appetizers, staff quite unprofessional (giving attitude two people - not worth of bothering, food came not as we requested, felt rushed - very disappointing. You guys need to go back a bit and remember"Never go quantity over quality".

Dinner for two. Food was excellent, nicely prepared and well presented. The seafood platter for two was superb. Looks expensive, but the portions are huge and are best shared.

Second time eating here 1st time half my meal was missing and waited 20 minutes for the missing meat to come out second time we brought our children orderd 4 meals was served 3 while my 9 year old waiting 15-20 minutes for her meal after repeatedly telling the waiting staff that stood around like body guards Will not return

My other half and I went today, we had the lunchtime menu (14.99pp)which was very reasonable, my other half is quite fussy so thought this an ideal opportunity to try the place as he doesn't like peas, carrots, cabbage, the cabbage however is on the side so didn't affect him. He really enjoyed it otherwise. He had sucuk(spicy beef sausage) for starter, I had halloumi. I enjoyed it all, It was lovely. The staff were very attentive, we ordered extra chilli and red onion and they were very polite and helpful in providing these. The restaurant looks stunning, we had a lovely afternoon. Thank you. (£10/20pp) This was my first visit, (Feb 2023) I wasn't disappointed. I opted for mixed kebab, the lamb was delicious, all very tasty, the red cabbage was amazing. Only downfall was a bit expensive, so go prepared.👍🏼(£20/30pp)

As a party of 13, all food arrived together and hot. Lovely atmosphere and large portions. I'm looking forward to coming back again soon

The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the man at the front of house was extremely nice. The food was okay, but for the price I’d expect more flavour. The baklava was lovely but the sorbet was disgusting. It was far from refreshing and tasted like melted down skittles. The biggest let down was definitely the servers who were quite rude and I would often catch them staring at us with distaste which made me feel very uncomfortable. I wouldn’t go here again because of this.

Food was nice. Violinist was a tad loud and it was busy but lovely place to eat. Such variety and the Baklava was to die for!

I ordered a mix grill which I took as a takeaway.....the food was delicious and plentiful, the service was great: I hadn't even entered the restaurant when a waiter came to ask me what I had it helps . Ambiental, I liked the restaurant a lot......when I have time I will eat at their restaurant once to see how the waiters behave! The last negative reviews about the service and food were to make me not eat at this restaurant, but 100% I was losing if I didn't try. Good luck !

Visited with colleagues for dinner after a team meeting. Nice food but the staff were a bit grumpy!

Went here this lunch and was serviced burnt food from seafood plater. Everything was burnt on the place including the mushroom. Very disappointing and disrespectful staff to even service something like this to customers

Been to Brentwood and we lived 1 min from Gidea park but Basildon WOW!! awful felt completely overdressed everyone in tracksuits service was appalling food awful for food and one alcoholic drink each 2 adults 2 kids £190!! Don't mind if service and food is good but looks like a canteen too big when we paid the waiter didn't even look at my husband just waved his hand for his card to pay! Never again and it was birthday 🥴 awful place

Lovely decor and food was very good. However - for the high prices I did not feel the service lived up to it. Our table was covered in dust and crumbs when we sat down and we had to ask to have it cleaned which was done half-heartedly without moving our plates etc. No apology. Service was without a smile and had to keep asking for more glasses as waiter brought glasses for half the table and not the rest. The food was good quality and tasted nice but in all honesty no different from other Turkish restaurants. I'm not sure I would return. I'm happy to pay a premium price but expect a premium service in return. Kervan you have some work to do!

We waited a total of 3 hrs for 3 courses. This is the second time this has happened. When the meals finally came, they managed to forget to cook one. Too much empashis on cramming people in not enough on customer service. Food was ok, if you can, go for smaller more intimate restaurant where the service is better.

Absolutely disgusting. In my opinion 100% out of date food being served. Went to the loo 6 times throughout the day and had a belly ache since I left there Don’t not go there what’s so ever!!!!!

Had a lunchtime three course meal here two people plus one drink each £52 ,Good portion size nicely turned out venue for big is small groups highly recommended.

Lovely restaurant. Great food and service with terrific prices for lunch. 2 course lunch with good selection and lots of food costs £13. Drinks reasonable prices too. Coffee £3. Highly recommend.

Hostile staff made it clear as soon as we arrived that payment was made upfront witch was a red flag but it was my anniversary so I say ok I'll go with it but soon realised when the starter's arrived the reason for payment upfront it was cold the beer was flat and I barely touched the main it was freezing I asked for them to take it back and I was surrounded by four men who wonted Notting only to fight I was scared for my family so I just left I didn't want a refund I just need to get my wife and kids out of that place I've been in sum bad situations but when kid are involved I just need to get a way I highly recommend no body to eat here especially if you a planning a meal with family or kids

This has to be the worst restaurant that I have ever been to. I’ve done nothing since I walk in the door but belittle me and make me feel very bad. I came to the restaurant for food. It’s supposed to be a five-star restaurant made me pay before eat I paid I asked for extra drinks when they brought the extra drinks. Me and my wife and your wife was eating food to come back. We will pay the bill and we asked the people next to us did B pay the bill? He said no, and he was still asking us to pay our bill. It is a five star restaurant normally you pay when you leave they have been nothing, but disrespectful, is the worst restaurant in Basildon. It should be closed down.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't too busy, so it didn't feel like you were rammed in. Staff were very friendly and service was quick. The food was very good but maybe a tad expensive. Didn't like that they add their own service charge.

Quite possibly THE BEST MEAT I have ever tasted. Gutted I don't live close as I would of tried the whole menu!

Chicken tougher than am used to in Turkish restaurants

Fantastic evening, live singer, gorgeous food, brilliant service & fab atmosphere.

Delicious Turkish food and sitting area. Ordered burger for the child which he did not like. I tasted it myself and it was completely tasteless. They need to work on it.

Very crowded weekend. The food was delicious , and the service was good.

Kervan Kitchen was an amazing experience, the atmosphere was brilliant with the live music. Even though it was busy it felt cosy due to the clever seating. As a party of 4 we didn't have to wait more than 3 minutes to get seated. The food portions were large and there were enough waiters all around ready to serve with a smile. I'll definitely recommend and visit again.

We love coming here when we’re down. The food is phenomenal! A great location with parking. Get the mixed grill…. You won’t be leaving hungry!
