I ordered two dishes and one drink. Both the dishes were vegetarian. The vegeta dumplings were too good in taste but the vegetable main course was ok. The curry was not too yummy. The drink was also good. It was positive regular and seemed to be fresh made. Overall it was good and the atmosphere was also good. Only recommendation to have sone variety in Curry that they put on this rice.

I love Wagamama. I've been to quite a few. This was the first time visiting this one in Basildon. Initial welcome was great and ordered drinks pretty quickly. So far so good, but things went downhill from there. Ordered some "starters" and "mains" - my partners "main" arrived pretty quickly and was lovely. She finished that off then waited 20 mins for her miso soup to arrive. She finished that. After 45 mins none of my order had arrived so my partner had finished her meal and I hadn't started mine ! When I asked a waitress she stated - the food comes out when it's ready ! Now I know this - it arrives in no particular order which is fine - but after an hour none of may food had arrived and my partner had finished hers ! So hardly a nice sociable meal together ! eventually my starter arrived (which was delicious) and then 10 mins later my main arrived (which was also delicious) - but eating out is a social event and this was ruined by a kitchen that was clearly in disarray. The waiting staff were fine and having to placate a few tables who had clearly suffered the same fate as us. The couple at the end of the table had problems with their bill as someone else's food had been billed against their table number ! And then the couple at the other end of there table had someone else's food delivered to them - so something clearly not right that night ! Still made it to see our film in time but glad we allowed plenty of time ! Hopefully just a glitch that night.....

Great foods and staff coped really well in busy environment. Was there two nights with colleagues and we enjoyed our meals. Thank you for a wonderful service.

Lovely selection of vegan options. Tried the kare burosu ramen & was very filling. It did make the tofu taste soggy if left in there for too long so if you prefer it crunchy I would recommend eating it first. The yasai vegetable gyoza are delicious also!

As regular eaters at the Lakeside Wagamama's we can't fault the food and service there, Basildon however, ot in the same league. The chief forgot our daughters food. When our food arrived, I had to use lots of the available additional seasoning as it was the most bland visit to a Wagamama's ever. The udon noodles were under cooker as well as the katsu chicken and the veg within the dish. We also had to wait just over 10 minutes for our daughters 1 scope of ice cream. We did over hear a couple behind us, and I quote, "this is not right, it's normally much nicer than this". I will never return to Basildon Wagamama's ever. No wonder it was more than half empty at lunchtime. First time ever, have not tipped in a restaurant.

Visited late evening 21 August. We were seated quickly (seemed busy everywhere for a Wednesday Night - Nando's was full!). Our waitress was Vicky, who was very attentive and friendly. We could see she was constantly all over the dining area, making sure everyone had everything they needed and had a good experience. What a super staff member to have. Food was served in good time, hot, good as always. Overall a great experience and again, cannot fault Vicky as our server. We will be back soon!

Was a very busy evening however I had the option to wait 5-6 minutes or eat outside so I chose to Eat outside and I was served promptly hardly even a wait for the food and it was perfect! The Vegan food here is something to be admired! 🙏🏽

Food was usual decent quality, quick service but the music… terrible like some kind of teenagers nightclub.. couldn’t wait to get out of there… maybe that’s the point of it… shame, we would of stayed for more dishes, desert etc but had to run.. please tone it down..

Just had the Teriyaki Beef Brisket hotpot and it should come with a health warning ⚠️ over 10 grams of salt/sodium per serving that's twice the daily amount of salt for an adult male in one sitting! I could not eat the broth the food was not good I had the home delivery went through deliveroo initially but they said would not be able do anything. I will be contacting the restaurant and making it official but wowsers that's the minimum amount they advertise so there's probably a lot lot more!

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL meal with such a delicious burst of flavours in each dish, lovely refreshing drinks and a delectable dessert for afters! I had a wonderful romantic anniversary lunch out here with the hubby and we both enjoyed it thoroughly other than for a few minor issues. Wagamama had a great range of food on the menu - including vegetarian options and plenty of non-alcoholic drinks. There were no problems here. It was the service at the beginning that was merely adequate but then slipped towards the middle of our meal that we took issue with. Three empty glasses were left sitting on our table whilst we were eating our food and, as they had contained ice-cold drinks, they now left a puddle right beside me. This left me with hardly enough space to eat comfortably. Then, a waitress blatently walked away from me calling her to take a mobile phone call behind the bar. This was rude and unprofessional and a waste of 5 minutes of our time as we waited for her to be done. The lady who came over to talk to us at the end, however, was magnificent! She was very helpful and treated us like guests. She apologised for the slack of her colleagues and assisted us with our payment when my Wagamama voucher code would not work. Overall, she made the experience a lot better than if she had not been there. Her service - along with the mouth-watering food - is why I am bumping this up to a 4 star review!

Sad to say our worst visit yet . We eat here every week with a bill of between £80 and £100 . We know most of the staff by name and normal the service is amazing even when busy . We have seen a change of staff and know that James the manager has moved on . We went in at 5pm on Saturday , the restaurant was busy but we are used to this . We were greeted straight away and put in a booth with the staff member knowing we needed a gluten free menu . That’s were the good ended . We waited ages for any part of our order to be taken and when that happened we ordered our drinks sides and mains . The portions were lacking in size compared to normal . My chilli squid was under cooked so was very rubbery, my chilli mushrooms by comparison were over cooked and were like charcoal . I left these . My beef brisket ramen was warm and the noodles were slimy . My partners dish was not much better . We normally have a desert and more drinks but decided to pay our bill and leave . We have been eating her for nearly 5 years so she’ll go back and share this experience. We know it can be so much better

Always a queue outside, but once you're in the staff are really nice, helpful and friendly. Food always comes out hot and amazing tasty in the usual wagamamas fashion!

Waited 30 minutes for a dish and when it came out it was cold. I asked the manager why it took so long in the first place and he said it got missed in a back log which is ridiculous as everyone else on the table received their food. The manager didn’t even offer any compensation for the inconvenience.

the food was cold and my ramen noodles were clumped together and gross. the edamame beans were cold and soggy. and i didn’t even get the right cutlery. i came back home to a really bad stomach and being ill.

I tens to go regularly and the standard is always kept high! Yesterday I was positively surprised to have duck dombury with entire pieces (it makes it even more enjoyable than usual). Team, thank you to keep motivated and hardworking.

Food was good, but having now been there twice, will not go back again. Disorganised chaos, and I really don't like rude people serving me. I like to pay for good service, but that was shocking.

Nothing like the London restaurants. Dishes were terrible. No quality, broth was just water, teriyaki sauce non existant. Service staff confused about what job they had, barman or waiter. Too busy rubbing their beards and chatting to each other rather than noticing any problems with customer orders. Will never return.

This, my first ever visit to a Wagamama restaurant was made all the more pleasant by our table server HOLLY, who was not only attentive, informative and polite, she so obviously enjoyed her job, her happiness spilled over to us and made our dining experience all the more special. Wagamama must be very proud to have Holly on their team. As for the food? What can I say? Fantabulous? Soooperb? The best Asian cuisine Ever!!! Thank you x

Was here with family. Food was good but service was very slow and not very engaging staff.

Had a fantastic meal! The server was awesome, attentive and caring - understood my mum's allergies and also recommended food that would be less spicy (which she loved the dish too)! The food was amazing and delicious! The salad that was served with my katsu curry was absolutely wonderful!! For me it can be a bit loud in the restaurant but that's my preference. Thankyou so much! This has been my second trip and both times Wagamama has not disappointed!! Would absolutely recommend!

Our first time at Basildon Wagamama, Alfie served our table and was fab from the start. Helpful with the menu, funny and just the right level of attentive. The food came out quick, hot and delicious. What more could you want?!

Ordered Wagamama for delivery a few weeks ago and called to amend my order. Darcy was absolutely lovely on the phone and provided top tier customer service.

Too busy for the staff to handle on a Saturday night. For some reason the manager decided to allow the restaurant to half empty out before allowing customers back in again. On a cold night in January there was a long queue outside looking at lots of empty tables. Food was good but average for the quality of Wagamama usually. Once we were seated we ordered roughly the same meals and I was able to finish mine before the other diner was even served. They kept forgetting his starter, which arrived after the main in the end. Staff just generally don’t seem to know what is going on either. Table next to us had to ask for their drinks to be delivered from the bar after seeing them ready for over 10 minutes. Just avoid during busy times, they obviously can’t handle a busy dinner service. Won’t be visiting on a Saturday again. Saving grace being we were able to pay via QR code, god knows how long the card machine would have taken to arrive.

Great service. Much better than my local Harlow branch. Hot food and decent portions. Tried the new mackerel dish and it was unbelievable.

Food was delicious reconvened for the spice lover the hotpot tteokbokki. It's rice and saucy and warms the cockles nicely.

Ordered katsu curry. Where is the sauce!! An enormous amount of rice, not enough sauce made it dry and tasteless. Very disappointed 😞

Has gone downhill. Some of the worst customer service I've ever had, uncomfortable chairs, food taking ages to serve, drafts, unable to hear each other over the music... I won't be coming back.

We dined at around 3pm (late lunch) and the place was pretty much empty but that was our good fortune because service was fast and friendly and food came up super quick. Awesome food 👌

Tried placing an order through Deliveroo. Wagamamas managed to miss out the two main meals from the delivery and when we rang up there was no apology or similar, just an abrupt "you have to go through Deliveroo". I told them Deliveroo were not responding on their live chat but they couldn't have cared less. Terrible customer service start to finish.

Great experience, we go to different wagamama restaurants on occasions and this time we went to the one in Basildon. It was quite busy but the service was OK!

Took my son there for his first visit and the staff were lovely and welcoming. He wants to go there again.

Place is dirty, cobwebs on the light fittings and food overcooked or cold, service was ok, this one isn’t the best for quality for money and would recommend Chelmsford as a better wagamamas!

Ordered Firecracker Rice one of my favourite, it was dry and tasteless there was no sauce in the dish. The waiter was adamant that the dish was fine as they use 60ml sauce 😬😬 and offered me extra sauce to make up. Wagamama has really compromised on their quality.

My daughter and I frequent the Basildon branch quite often, every couple of weeks usually and the staff, food is pretty excellent every visit. My 1 star review however is based on some really dire service regarding the admin for the restaurant. Back in August my bill was taken twice through their card machine by accident - @ £99.00 - I've been chasing ever since and now in late October, I STILL haven't received my refund for the double / 2nd payment. Its a joke to be honest and I obviously won't be returning until their rectify the matter.

Nice place to eat, although it felt very light on the meat compared to normal.

The Food was really lovely, however we were left outside waiting to order for 15 mins and had to go and ask someone to come out and take our order, including drinks.

A very nice meal with good company.. great food and good service . Dropped a star as no one came out to take the bill and we had no table number on the outside tables. But would defiantly recommend. Had the ramen, very tasty indeed. Friendly staff. Each Wagamama I have been to has always been good and always an enjoyable meal!

Was a bit disappointed by this Wagamama. Having frequented the one in Nottingham, I've come to expect the best, but this time it was extremely expensive and not particularly anything special.

Food was very tasty at first . I wanted to try the soysauce by the side of the table, I don't know why I did that it was way too salty and ruined all the dishes 😔 but we ate it anyways.I went with my family. Food was great 👍 except the disgusting soysauce. so please don't try that sauce unless the management decide to do something about it in future. It's a nice place too with a great customer service.

Unfortunately the dish I wanted was no longer available here. (This is a chain and not all options are available in all establishments) But what I had instead was lovely. Vegan options - some fake meat but some proper veg Choice of brown rice - fantastic Vegan noodles too but I think just white flour or white rice. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I thought soba noodles were buckwheat but here they are wheat+ eggs. So be careful. 🤔 The non-vegans said their food was really tasty Also unfortunately it's a bit pricey. I chose to have the beetroot juice instead of a starter. It was lovely🤗

Stellar experience. Food is always with you very quickly and restaurant staff are always on hand - nothing is too much to ask for. Ambience is great, lighting is really nice and parking for free is an added bonus. Quality of food is as expected of Wagamama - lovely and consistent. My only gripe is why is there not more chilli squid on the plate!

We have gone a few times on a Friday night and the vegan/vegetarian food always has an issue. This Friday vegan firecracker we ordered was cold. So I sent it back then I'm not sure because we were sitting upstairs or waiter forgot about it, I had to ask where my food had got to and he brought up yet again another cold plate of food. I just ate it...then on the receipt he charged me for 2.

Always a pleasure to be able to dine here, not only location wise but as a chain.. restaraunt is super clean and open, very homely feel when busy and the food is always flawless. just a minor niggle about waiting staff talking across the restaurant over customers, but apart from that, it was a perfect visit

Absolutely horrendous - extremely slow service - lead server seating people might as well have crawled he was so slow. It was freezing outside and people were told to wait out there instead of being allowed to stand in the warm. The waiting staff were taking their time clearing tables. There were numerous empty tables yet I waited 45 mins to be seated while they sat empty and I came on my own.

Alright hear me now, my friend and I decided to go Wagamamas. As it was my first experience I wasn’t sure what to expect it has been hyped up to me for years but I just never managed to visit it. We had an amazing server called Alfie who gave probably one of the best customer experiences I have ever had, he was patient when it came to me choosing dishes especially with their massive menu and with the help of my friend I was able to pick the dishes I wanted to try, he took care of us throughout this experience . I got two sides ; chilli squid and the pulled pork gyozas and for the main I had to try their best known staple the chicken katsu curry. Chilli squid The squid was coated in a light but crispy batter, the batter is self didn’t have much flavour and the squid was kinda a gummy texture but not chewy. It came with this lovely chilli sauce with brought the flavour it was necessarily spicy which is what I expected when it said chilli squid it was more of a sweet chilli sauce but not sticky like a traditional sweet chilli sauce but flavoursome nonetheless, they also gave a lot of squid that I couldn’t even finished and they stayed warm for quite sometime which is good. 6.2/10 Chicken katsu curry With the amount of choice that was there I was scrambled in what to choice so I went with the safest and recommended option to see what the hype was. The rice was soft, fluffy and perfectly moulded into this picturesque beauty that I almost didn’t want to ruin but I was intrigued to see how it tasted. The chicken was crispy and well cooked it wasn’t really season but I believe that it is relying on the curry for its flavour in this dish which was interesting. The flavour of the curry was somewhat temporary and lacked a rich depth that I was looking and I was expecting a wealth of flavour to inflict my taste buds but the salad that came with it eaten with it, that salad dressing definitely surprised my with flavour that added the extra oomph that was needed so as a whole it was a decent dish but it didn’t live up to the hype. 6.4/10 Pulled pork gyoza 🥟 These panfried and steamed gyoza were like light pockets of tender pulled pork which worked quite well with the tipping sauce. I like that it is pan fried so that it isn’t too soft but soft enough that it can melt into your mouth it was enjoyable with the dipping sauce but by itself after a couple got a bit tiring which is why I was happy there wasn’t too much of it. 6/10 Overall rating will be a 7.5/10 because the customer service was fantastic but I will definitely be try different dishes the next time I come. Food was delicious but worst service by staff. Can you imagine 4 people and 1 tissue on the table and when order the dessert they just left us without spoon. They will try there best to ignore you.its just funkin dumb staff. I will never come to this Basildon restaurant And definitely not recommended
