We came here on a wim as we had a child free few hours, the service was immaculate, the food was absoutley amazing. What I presume was the owner was such a lovely lady and made us feel so welcome. They said there would be a wait on food but we waited no longer than 20 minutes and it was well worth it. Will be returning as its practically on our door step, can't believe we haven't given it a go before.
Excellent food with a warm welcome thank you for well coming Jake and George they loved their chicken nuggets my fish and John's gammon delicious Thank you 😊😄
Simply the best cafe in Spalding and surrounds. Had lunch there today and it was superb, food and service. We've been regular cafe customers for many years and even longer for their bakery. One of Spaldings treasures.

Sat down at 8pm and waited for service only to find out from another table that it was order at the bar. Very few staff visible. Limited menu compared to what it used to be. Mains delivered while we were still halfway through the sharing platter starters. Only licensed until 9pm when the last orders bell went. Advised closing time was 9.45pm.
On the plus side, the place is a great space to eat, the food is good, as are the beers and wines.
Tried this place when it opened and not ordered from anywhere else since burgers are beaut pizzas are banging and the value for money can’t go wrong feed the family for £25 well recommended give it a try you won’t be disappointed

Overall we had great time
Heavenly spot in a quiet Northampton suburbs
Ample car parking spaces
Lovely victorian building
Nicely spaced out tables and good quality furniture
Good quality food and Michelin star quality served in high quality plates
Despite the menu says 7 courses but we had additional compliments like an amazing venison tart amuse bouche and a petit fours
Staff were professionals elegantly dressed obliging and courteous
The price tag is reasonable
Unisex toilets and super clean
Room for improvement: misleading parking signs saying parking closes at 5:30
Lighting of the billiard room was poorly lit and cold choice of ambient light and table lambs.. a warm light would have been a better choice
Draught beer machine was broken and bottled beer served un chilled with limited choice
White wine (pinot) was not matching with quality of food
Sometimes the waiting time between courses was 20 minutes after finishing the plates expect full experience to last 3 hours
The music was un modern and not matching the venue
The raviolo dish was great but a tad cold
The menu speaks about the history of the place which is great but we were more keen to learn about the chef, his/her passion and experience and the menu inspirations and stories.. for instance the lamb was sourced from Australia we didn’t know why and we prefer locally sourced amazing British lamb
We suggest a member of the kitchen team to visit the dining venue and introduce themselves as we love to know the team behind the scene of such a great time and experience
The plants choice was a surprise because they are not real plants. We read in the history description the orangery used to home plants so it would be better to keep the theme of living habitat rather than plastics
Having fake plant in such an amazing place was rather unexpected and does not match the beautiful landscape view
Overall a fantastic addition to Northampton dining enthusiast.. highly recommended

Ordered some food to share with the family and was left sorely disappointed. The first time a few months back was a let down but we decided to give it a chance and ordered again today.
This time we ordered a lemon chicken, a sweet and sour chicken, and a beef in black pepper sauce.
The lemon chicken left a rather sour taste in my mouth...there was a large chunk of chicken which was cremated in a thick crusty batter and then chopped into a few large pieces and then tossed into what was supposed to be lemon sauce but tasted mainly of lemon juice, probably with the intention of destroying our taste buds.
The sweet and sour sauce was pretty ok. But the same crusty chunks of poultry was thown in too. There was no care and pride in their food. The meat was rubbery and chewy. Our girls who ordinarily loved sweet and sour left most of their dinner uneaten.
I could not taste the pepper spices in the pepper sauce. Maybe my tastebuds died in shock after the attack of the lemon sauce. The beef slices were chewier than rubber tyres and the sauce was bland and unremarkable.
Very disappointing.
I have been here twice in the last month and just wish I knew about it sooner! It has a lovely family atmosphere, great food and a lovely garden in the back. You can bring your own alcohol and my server was even kind enough to put my drinks in the fridge for me! I will definitely be returning again soon - Thank you!
