The best restaurants in East Midlands

Me and my wife have eaten a the Bikaneri a few times the food is always very tasty and value for money,highly reccomend

It's been a few years since I have been here due to being overseas. Came in to get a takeaway pizza and decided on the meat feast but as a calzone it was really tasty. Will be returning

We arrived 10 minutes before our table was booked and we were shown straight to our table which was lovely. We were given menus and shortly after, asked what we would like to drink. I was very happy, as the prices of the drinks, I believe, were pretty good, as added in the photos. I may add our seats ever very comfy and we had a lovey view. We were served our drinks and asked what we would like for starters and mains. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive. When the starter arrived, along side our child’s meal (as requested ), we were blown away. Delicious. The Han hock croquettes were so moreish. And the child’s meal was so beautiful I could have eaten myself. We then received our mains, of which we can hardly fault. Everything was really lovely and tasty, Our only complaint (and it is very minor)… my husband ordered the beef rib, of which he didn’t get a choice of how it was cooked. Although it was still lovely, there was many plates of food being bought out more to it liking (more rate) his meat was more well done rather than his preferred rare/medium rare). Other people’s meals looked much more pink, which he would have enjoyed much more. We also had desert, which all went down a treat. This place is a real hidden gem. We alll really enjoyed our meals, and will certainly be back again soon

Really tasty food and a nice atmosphere initially, but let down by the service. We were looking forward to a great night after hearing positive reviews about the food from friends but we struggled to get even a hi, please or thanks from the young lad and lady “looking after us”. Food was dumped on top of uncleared plates and even asking for water seemed like a massive request.

very friendly, cosy and oh so nice chocolates. we had amaretto and tangerine little bon bons ! also dark hot chocolate and double espresso were superb! 10 out of 10 for me !

Had an excellent full English breakfast with additional black pudding. OMG! So tasty. The black pudding had a lovely spicy twist. Service was top notch too. A visit to the attached farm shop also proved worthwhile. Excellent too. I spoke to the owner and found that the BP is home made. We will be back! Thankyou.

OK food - slow service ! Told only conservatory available . So sat for ages , freezing cold to point everyone wearing padded coats . Waited so long to be served nearly walked out . Others seemed to be seen bit more quickly. Then to add insult to our long drawn out service , a couple came into conservatory two minutes later waitress came to them and offered them inside where we could have been offered . So shows one review and experience on here completly different to another . I asked 3 times young girl to order . Then when I asked for bill left me waiting so had to go pay at bar as seemed we were just invisible . Why have conservatory for extra guests with no heater ! Who wants to eat a meal in padded coat . Food lasagna, meat balls &carbonara plentiful but OK. Wouldn't recommend due to the service !

Excellent food, great selection. Pizza and pasta were spot on and staff were very attentive. Nice atmosphere, would highly recommend.

I genuinely hate leaving negative reviews, but I feel I need to in this case. We ordered our wedding cake and agreed with Butterwicks Kettering that it would be delivered at 5pm to the venue, 6.30pm came and there was no cake. We sent a message via Facebook and was told that the delivery driver was delayed and that the shop owner would be delivering it to us instead. The cake was delivered eventually, however it wasn't as described on the website. I could be surmising, but it felt like our order was forgotten and our cake was put together last minute in the bakery from what they had left from that day. We had a very laid back wedding, so we weren't overly stressed about it (my friends and family had made the decision to dash to Sainsbury's without us knowing for a last minute cake - so sweet). What's making me write this review is the lack of correspondence afterwards. We all make mistakes, to err is human, but it's how those mistakes are dealt with thereafter. I've messaged via the website and have emailed the bakery owner directly, and have heard nothing back 3 weeks later. They're incredibly quick to respond to my order via these channels, but not a complaint. If you're going to order a wedding cake, I'm sure it will be lovely, however make sure you keep on top of them consistently with your expectations, even if they're as simple as ensuring the cake will be there.

Loved their scrambled eggs salmon with cream cheese and chives

We hadn't booked so popped in as soon as they opened and were thrilled to get a table. The atmosphere and service and banquet we shared between two of us were all great. It made it a much more enjoyable and memorable experience than visiting a bland chain restaurant. Whilst it soon got busy we were not rushed and were able to order extra drinks as we required them. Fantastic! Plus a great price. Thank you. I'd already eaten part of the starter before taking the picture below - I just couldn't resist. It was all great.

Delicious food, Best Mexican around here

Went once and then again 3 weeks later and they remembered our order from the first time we went. Excellent service and friendly. Incredible food very fresh and great quality. Best fish and chips around! They also offer gluten free fish which not many places do.

Always a warm welcome great beer choice. 👍
