New Sunrise in Northampton

Very good quality Chinese food. You won’t be disappointed with the quality or quantity of food. One of the nicest Chinese restaurants around this area - and I’ve tried a few!!😱 I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. If you can’t park in front of restaurant then parking is rather limited to side streets.

Great service and great food definitely will go back there

I hadnt been here for a few years and was pleased to finally return on a busy Saturday evening. The banquet is not available on Friday and Saturdays so we chose the mixed starter for two followed by crispy duck. For the main course we had chicken curry, salt and chilli prawns, singapore rice and singapore noodles. We found the food was really nice and plentiful with great aromatic flavours. The service was good, considering how busy the staff are with full tables of diners and an non-stop stream of take-away collections. We had four beers and the bill came to £108 which we felt was worth it and look forward to not leaving it so long to return next time.

Delicious food so much flavor and care went into it. The spring rolls are handmade by the chef and are gorgeous the portions are generous and I have found my perfect Chinese food restaurant really impressed. Lots of veggie options to choose from. The staff are friendly, helpful and patient and helped locate my new build flat. Will deffo be back for more. Thank you.

Found what seemed to be a tadpole in the bole they give you for cleaning your fingers with my ribs. Devastated because I eat there a lot before

Such a pleasant surprise to find this place, not a 'typical' Chinese restaurant as they had many Malaysian dishes that were excellent, we also had the steamed fish and golden deep fried soft shell crab that were delicious.

This is our go to place for family gatherings and birthdays. This time we sent for the classic set menu and the food was faultless. The mixed selection starter is outstanding, as is the duck and the mains were beautiful, plenty of prawns, beef and chicken. Service is excellent. The only thing going forward that will put us off is the price, it’s steep. Our bill was £400 for 10 of us and although we had a few drinks and excellent food, it’s a bit too pricey for us in this current climate. That is no reflection on the quality of the Chinese food that they offer. In my view it’s the best in Northampton.

Legendary restaurant on Kingsley Park Terrace, never fails to impress. Incredible food with an excellent selection to choose from, the decor and atmosphere in the restaurant is elegant and tasteful. Pleasant and attentive customer service always eager to make you feel at home; food arrives quickly, this is my favourite place to go for sure.

Excellent meal. Staff couldn't have been more knowledgeable, helpful and polite. Tables cleaned and disinfected after every customer. Personal taste for food catered for and a superb meal. Will certainly return, hopefully in the near future.

Amazing food, Great vegetarian options and fantastic portion sizes. We ordered spring rolls starter and lettuce wraps. The food was fresh and had amazing flavour. I had satay vegetarian chicken and it was incredible. I also had vegetarian rice which was packed full of veggies and tasted amazing. My partner had orange chicken and it was great Staff couldn’t do more for you! They were very attentive with drinks and friendly Thank you for a lovely evening, We will be visiting again very soon

Came here for my 27th Birthday. As we only live a five minute walk away, I’m disgusted with myself that we haven’t visited here sooner. The decor was tidy and well kept unlike like a few other Chinese restaurants we’ve visited in Northampton. The service was attentive and effecient. The food itself was amazing, it was served hot and seasoned too perfection. They pride themselves on having no MSG in any of their dishes, I’m not that fussed by MSG but I know a lot of people don’t like it or their body doesn’t agree with it. I don’t know how to explain but it almost tastes like a homemade Chinese (in a good way). The ribs weren’t overcooked and dry, the sauces had depth of flavour and everything tasted fresh. Although it’s not the cheapest, I’m more than happy paying a bit more to get decent quality and tasty food. Overall, an amazing Chinese restaurant that I can’t praise enough. I can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely a hidden gem, really tasty food and the service was really friendly and attentive. Restaurant was full and you could see they had a lot of takeaway orders coming in as well. Have had takeaway from here before but I would say the food quality and portion size is better if you eat in

We always dine in but on this occasion we had a take out, couldn't fault it; the manager very pleasant and made sure nothing was missed and tried making conversation whilst I was waiting. Very professional No doubt we will go back soon

Booked a table here as could not get into our usual restaurant! But we were not disappointed. We were a party of 3 visited 10/01/2024. Was it value for money? Absolutely. Was the service good? Absolutely. Was the food good? Absolutely. But I can only give 4 stars because it was a cold day and it was cold in the restaurant by tge end of my visit I was almost shivering! So even though it's a good place to eat I won't be back until the weather wsrms up.

Walked past this restaurant numerous times and differnt times of the day and always wondered why it looked so busy. I found out why on Saturday .... Lovely atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. The food was hot, freshly prepared, mouth watering, tender and succulent..Portions generous for two had to take the rest away. We will defo be going back, and soon!!

This place is constantly amazing. It’s very rare you can pick somewhere as a treat and know you won’t be disappointed. The food is great value, well cooked and delicious. The decor is a mix of traditional yet modern styling and the staff have a perfect balance of attentiveness vs privacy. This is THE place to beat in Northampton.

Disappointing experience overall. We had tiny bowls of rather tasteless hot and sour soup. Main courses were also mediocre. It's a mystery to me how they manage to be so full most nights.

Surely the best Chinese restaurant in Northampton and probably the East Midlands. We've just made our fourth visit and travel from the other side of town to come here. The food is simply incredible, whilst also catering for vegetarians with a vast array of choices. Then there's the perfect service to top it all off. Perfection! Can't wait to go back already!

My family have eaten here for decades It’s great food and atmosphere. I’ve never had a complaint the food is delicious and fairly priced

It was like stepping back in time to the old Sunrise at it's best. The new staff are friendly and attentive and the food is excellent. The new menu still has classic Chinese restaurant dishes but the chef has added more variety so we ordered a mix and enjoyed all of it. I was surprised at how busy it was on a Tuesday evening but that just goes to show how popular they are and to be fair we'd come from Kettering to try it and we'd come back again. We're one of those families who grew up with Sunrise as our favourite local Chinese restaurant and were sad when it closed but New Sunrise feels fresh and nostalgic at the same time. Most importantly, the food is great. Highly recommended.

Wonderful food, attentive staff, competitively priced. Maybe a victim of their own success. We went as a party of five, pre-booked for 7pm on a Thursday evening and we had the last spare table. The place was full but you didn't feel that other diners were encroaching on your space. Set menus seemed popular starting at around £20.95 for a Three course choice. The drinks were fairly pricey but we didn't begrudge the mark-up. The staff were very attentive but I noticed that they were operating at full stretch. Nothing took too long, however, and we had a most enjoyable time. Once again, a shout-out for the food. We had a great sharing platter to start, spring rolls, prawn toast, chicken satay skewers, ribs etc and it was served on the Lazy Susan in the middle of our round table, as were the five main courses we had afterwards. It was delicious, hot and very fresh. Couldn't fault it. If you're looking to eat at a reasonable price, and you don't drink too much alcohol, I'd thoroughly recommend this establishment.

One of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to and I've been to many as I travel a lot around the UK due to the job I do. Ordered about 5 starters between 4 of us and the portions were so big that we didn't have space for mains. Every dish was so tasty and very reasonably priced. Looking forward to the mains on our next visit. You will not be disappointed.

I had an amazing experience, the staffs were ready to help every single minute. It was a really calm and cozy environment. The food was fabulous, one of the best I’ve ever had. I’ll be coming back over and over again. Can’t even stop talking about their meals. Please Keep it up.

I had a 10mins walk home and the food was still hot. The taste was perfect, noodles not over cooked. It was lovely. My only complaint is the "egg fried rice" wasn't. It was boiled rice with scrambled egg added. That let it down for me. Apart from that, it was spot on 👍👍👍

Very fond of this place and have been visiting for years when on business in the area. The salt and pepper chilli ribs are the best I've ever had, so meaty and tasty. Hunan chicken is exceptional, sweet and crispy. Can't wait to go back

This was a firm favourite before we moved to Scotland - the food was lovely and teh staff friendly and attentive - a pity we can't get a delivery from them!

Go to Chinese takeaway for us. Never greasy, always perfectly prepared with bite of the vegetables and delicious sauces. Service is prompt and often ready before expected, never late. Absolutely lovely vegetarian set menu for two with delicious vegan chicken, this is a go to option for us for vegan Chinese. A must.

'Traditional' Chinese restaurant in the best sense of the words - lots of polished wood and green tiles in the decor, highly attentive service, and a huge menu. Food good, good value. The kind of place that has a large number of faithful regulars, and for good reason.

Get takeaways from here often, the restaurant is really good, great service and food is AWESOME!!! Favourite dish is General Tso's Chicken. The weekday evening set menu is great value and plenty of food!!! Highly recommend!!!

New Sunrise is a great Chinese restaurant that I go to occasionally for takeaway and to eat at. The food is wonderful and the service is good. The staff are friendly as well as helpful.

Visited here for the first time yesterday and it was fabulous. Friendly staff, lovely clean cosy restaurant and all the food was delicious. We had a set menu which was great value. The food was far superior than the wok inn / restaurant in billing and other Chinese takeaways we’ve tried in Northampton. Can’t wait to visit again soon 😊

I’ve been here so many times I couldn’t tell you how many, but each and every time the food is excellent. I’ve truly never had a bad dish here. It’s the best Chinese in town by a big margin! The staff are very friendly too. The main menus and set menus are both excellent and it’s as good for couples as it is for bigger groups. Love it here!

I’ve been meaning to write a review on this restaurant for months now and have finally got round to it! My partner and I regularly have take aways from the new sunrise and they are always absolutely top quality and the most tasty Chinese food we have ever had! We ate out here last New Year’s Eve and again this New Years Eve and the food and service was excellent! We decided on a set menu which was so delicious and very generous in portion sizes! We always look forward to having a meal from the new sunrise whether it be a take out or dining in. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed!😁

Had a takeaway this lunchtime. Very disappointed. It was a meal for two. It tasted as though it was warmed up from the previous evening. The duck for the pancakes was dry. The pancakes wouldn’t roll because they cracked, the sweet and sour chicken was oily with undercooked onion and the rice was dry and tasteless. The mixed veggies were mushy and slimy. The beef curry the best thing about the meal.

Family celebration for young Thomas , finishing nursery with an incredible report to start School in September. He was so happy and the ambience of the Restaurant and the friendliness of the staff reflected it all. Food was delicious and some of us ordered way over the top but whatever was chosen was brought to us for home eating at the end of the meal. There were some misunderstandings with some of the orders bug these were rectified and charges withheld.

Seems to have got even more expensive and all our rice dishes were stodgy wasn't impressed

We have this evening been to New Sunrise after 4 years living in Cumbria and this Chinese Restaurant still has excellent food, amazing staff and the high standard it had then. Would highly recommend pay a visit.
